That is absolutely true, HOWEVER: we must guard against the revisionists and the fable-makers who seek to elevate GWB up to the level of a saint (or at least up to the level of a Reagan), whose sole purpose in life is to protect the mythical 'wonderful legacy' of the most liberal RINO to ever make his way into the White House.

George W. Bush, in his eight years in Office did more damage to our Constitution and our Republic than anyone could have imagined. He became a bigger spender than even that other loser from Texas, Lyndon Johnson. He expanded the reach and power of the federal government beyond all belief. He didn't even find his damn veto pen until 2006!

I mention these things (and there is so much more) to stress that just as the old Soviet Union freely practiced literal historical revision (masking over the images of disgraced party apparatchiks in "official" Party photos), we must not permit faux-conservatives who either by delusion or design, have embraced this dangerous perspective that George W. Bush was somehow this great conservative on horseback who should be idolized and eternally praised. NOTHING could be further from the truth. And if we allow those BushBots to pull that kinda crap and spread those lies, we will be allowing the tainting and the distortion of any possible future conservative principles and standards that I believe America WILL return to.

Now there ARE things that George W. Bush did right. But the right things that he did are far outweighed by the things that were either completely done wrong, or were ignored, or were left for the current 0bamunist regime to screw up even more.

Do we need to move forward? Absolutely. Should we ignore or forget what got us in this situation? (i.e, eight years of liberal GWB-RINO policies)

But perhaps you might start watching the behavior of those you call friends.....those you say are "good" people.
I want it to end too, but if I'm labeled a "RINO" and called a "Mad Puppy" by your "friends" as soon as I post on a thread (an insult worthy of an ill-behaved 3rd grader), then I WILL defend myself against the garbage thrown at me, as politely as I am able.

Just as an example: you'll see plenty of my comments around here, regularly quoting Reagan or Coolidge, the Founders, or other known conservatives. Usually, many of thse get slammed by other Freepers; today I was accused of being an anti-American race-baiter who loves Muslims, while on other days I have been accused of being anything from a troll to a liberal.

RINOs (not the best term) are termites. Ro-bots like Chunga and his hero Levin will claim the termites are doing good for the country(as the house looks good, like that Bush economy) , but when the house falls down they will cry “They werent real conservatives, dont blame me for what they did”.

While I agree with you, I can't consider Levin to be any worse than the rest - This last election was telling wrt the entirety of the "Right-wing" media. Almost without exception, the entirety of it pumped Bush and McCain, and pimped for RINOs. FOX, Rush, Hannity... All of them.

I was so disgusted by the summer of 2007 that I turned my radio and TV off - And I don't miss it at all. Nothing brings out the true colors like adversity... And ALL of it is false.

As to those who follow [X -insert favorite "conservative" personality here]: Either one believes in the principles of Conservatism, or one doesn't. There isn't any middle ground. There can't be. Just because your favorite media pimp says different doesn't make it so.

Until the so-called Right wing establishment returns to the unwavering principles of Reagan, they will continue to lose. It's all about these "first things" which are supposed to be held dear... Dear as your own blood. Principle cannot be overlooked. It cannot be sacrificed. If it is, then it wasn't principle in the first place, and one doesn't deserve the name "Conservative".

To entertain falsehood is to advocate it. It isn't about "winning" - Without the principles which hold us together, the win is a Pyrrhic victory at best.

He was *not* the Republican. He was the Conservative. There has always been a difference, and that difference is HUGE nowadays.

BTW, Dems keeps repeating that Republicans had held NY-23 for 150 years until now. That's a lie. Dems held the seat from 1979-1993, for example. Steny Hoyer repeated that lie on Fox but Greta Van Susterin didn't call him on it.
