I'm very sad to say that The Shrew passed away yesterday. I know there are some oldtimers here that would want to know and possibly share condolences and stories. He was one of the best.

I came across a post by abigkahuna N6TDG about having a Free Republic Ham Net for shut ins for the China Virus. I think it's a great idea. Big Kahuna mentioned 80 or 40 meters. I don't have an 80 meter antenna due to space restrictions so that won't work for me. We should keep it in the general frequencies of 40 meters so that more operators would be able to participate and Big suggested an evening net. I don't normally discuss politics with most of you because it just upsets half the people I know. Many of you are going to be very upset with me for this. That is fine because it more important that you hear the truth then like me. What is going on in DC right now is incredibly dangerous. The level of out and out lying by US House Democrats about their objections to the Virus Relief bill is incredible. There IS no "$500 billion slush" fund, no "bailing out the rich at the expense of the workers" Those are marketing slogans...

Can we please put on a third shift to post new articles? Late at night after a few snorts, I have a lot of fascinating things to say. At that time, I'm also quite the ladies man. Just ask anyone.

Our FRiend Windflier has passed. I've just gotten the news from his wife. He had been battling cancer for a while now. I'm sure the family would appreciate prayers,. Thanks.

Enough with all the Corona Virus posts. We get the picture already and FreeRepublic has turned into Corona Virus terror central. Other things are happening we need to know about!

Several weeks ago, I started work on a Monday with a sore throat and headache. I was doing a final review of my high rise building in anticipation of the Fire Marshall's visit that week. Tuesday, I was sick as a dog. Raging fever, aches and chills, migraine, and a persistent, dry cough. Used Dayquil and Nyquil to dampen the effects and clear my system. By Wednesday, I was at my doctor's office. I tested negative for the flu. Blood pressure and temperature were way up. They gave me a cocktail booster shots, ciprofloxacin, and prednisone. Doctor ordered chest x-rays....

I suppose this could be considered a waste of time, but I thought it might be a good ongoing thread to track cases of the Corona virus that are directly or tangentially impacting Freepers. We have 2 indirect contacts I know of so far.

Double postings of items of interest are common. Most of the time, folks here do check before they post. If it is a newly reported item - once one has checked to make sure it is not posted - it takes time to make a new post. Some of us here are slower than others. Usually because we want to verify, clarify, and check the story over all. To those that are quick to jump with condemnation, please consider this, you are no better than the media that rush to publish a story without verification.

What happened ?

I'm thinking of pulling my child out of the public school system and enrolling her in an online private school, at least until this virus threat is over. We're in Virginia. Does anyone here have any experience or advice to offer about the process? I'm not finding much info online.

This just in from dp0622... Farmer Dean is recovering in a hospital in Ohio. His temperature is back to normal from 106 degrees!! That’s Not a misprint. He only lost 10 pounds throughout the whole ordeal and the hole that was leaking in his colon has closed but he will STILL need surgery to completely rectify the problem. God is Great and this guy’s a walking miracle. 4 or 5 septic infections, 3 bouts of pneumonia, in a coma several times, abscesses and other issues over the past 3 years and he keeps on trucking. This is GREAT news! Everyone...

Her digestive system has been bothering her for awhile, and the bananas/rice/toast light stress diet hasn't helped it calm down and get back to normal. She viaited her doc earlier this week and is awaiting the results and should know by the end of the week what she's actually dealing with. Its weakened her and she's really tired of it. Any prayers are appreciated. Also for those who are praying for my dad, his recovery is on the slow up curve. He had a bout of inflammation that required steroids to bring down, he's back home and resting and eating...
