Thank you very much for the hard work. A day without FR is difficult.

WILLIAM RIVERS PITT wants to know what is happening at the Free Republic as you can see in his THREAD, "Has anyone checked out FreeRepublic yet?" Since all editions of the DUmmie FUnnies are quickly posted at the Free Republic, Pitt might find out way more than he would like. For example, he might find out about the heinous deeds of a certain Temporary SockPuppet. Or would he prefer to wait 24 business hours for a PARTIAL BIRTH NONAPOLOGY that attempted to explain away one of the biggest journalistic frauds ever perpetrated? A visitor to the Free Republic who...

Lateral Move December 2, 2012 Ed Driscoll “Al Jazeera is putting the final touches on a deal to take over Current TV, the low-rated cable channel that was founded by Al Gore and his business partners seven years ago,†the New York Times claims: If the deal is completed, Current will provide the pan-Arab news giant with something it has sought for years: a pathway into American living rooms. Current is available in about 60 million of the 100 million homes in the United States with cable or satellite service.Rather than simply use Current to distribute its English-language channel,...

I lost my sidebars on FR, on both my computer and new fancy phone. They were there before, and as usual I hit everything, then they all disappeared! And I can't scroll down either. Once the scroll bar hits the end, that's it, I can't go down any further.

The 4th and final of the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates have come and gone for 2012. Here are the three things we can walk away with. - Romney can't lose a debate coin toss, going 3 for 3. Which of course means nothing. - Obama gets more moderated debate time, going 3 for 3 in the time column. Which of course means nothing. - Free Republic crashes before any debate and doesn't get back to normal until dawn the next day. I would like to state that I have been here since the 2004 election season. I can't lay...

I have to ask this very seriously, do you know that this site has been completely unusable to perhaps thousands and thousands of others during either the first Presidential or Vice-Presidential debate and for an hour or so after their respective conclusions? This has never happened in previous election cycles during debates, election night results or during large breaking news events. Slow? Yes. Unusable, no. I've had multiple tabs opened for the debates this year and the FR one just wheel spin, wheel spin, wheel spin... blank page, no progress bar moving on the address bar. It's just the internet...

Yet again, FR fails the big LIVE THREAD test. How does what is supposed to be the premiere conservative site on the 'net continue to fail?I would have expanded on this except it took forever to get this simple post through the muck and molasses that we have to wade thru on night's like this.

We can’t rely on the media, even the alternative media. Free Republic is announcing a new initiative that gives you a platform. We want to leverage the most powerful minds on the right to make a difference. To do this, we want to bring a new level of activism, the citizen investigator. In the spirit of 1750’s The Pennsylvania Gazette published by Ben Franklin and of Andrew Breitbart. For the longest time, our primary focus has been on looking at what the media presents and investigating it or discussing it. We have been missing something, YOU! Jim has created a...

The moderator didn't think you guys were intellectually savy enough to see through the title of the post despite the body of the thread shining light on it. Personally, I think you guys are smarter than that, but obviously, he doesn't think so. So I'm done at FR. See you guys on the other side! Keep up the fight for the America we have know and love! Arcy out.

Mystery charges on my Credit Card caused me to issue a fraud notice and I now have a new account number. FR has my old number for my monthly charges. I want to continue my donations, so what to do?

First of all, before anyone gets upset, this thread is not a complaint, not a critique. FR works fine for me. I'm a happy camper. But I am curious as to how others navigate around the site, and what, if any tweaks might be worth considering; and maybe provide some food for thought for the folks in charge.

Hey guys, earlier today I went to read my "pings" and I don't see any of the content of the comments, only the name of the thread and the respondent. Did something change? :( I like clicking and reading the responses and not necessarily going through the whole thread.

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though. But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is. And the fact that he advocated that abortion...

IMHO, since this is a very important day of activism to show support for Chick-Fil-A and traditional marriage, I thought this thread could be used for FReeper reports and pics from their visits to Chick-Fil-A's around the country since there probably won't be much "positive" coverage from the LSM. FReepers could post their experiences and pics and maybe even "counter protest" pics. Folks should maybe remember to bring a camera (cell phone) to take pics with just in case something confrontational happens. Go FR and Chick-Fil-A!!

I've checked with an ad agency. We can probably raise the funds we need to operate FR at our current level and at the current market price for online advertising if we run a banner ad at the top of every page and at least one rectangular ad in the above the fold body of the page and a couple rectangular ads in the sidebar. If that doesn't generate enough revenue, we can also run pop ups or pop unders and we can even run audio and video ads if need be. But of course, if we go full bore...

Fox News host Greta Van Susteren announced this evening that she will be boycotting the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents' Dinner over the selection of a comic to headline the dinner who has repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin using vile sexual terms.Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott. The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so....

I'll admit it's just not the same when FR goes off line. The last time something like this occurred was during the summer right about when Hurricane Irene hit, if my memory serves me correctly. At first when these off line occurrences began it had me worried, concerned, the absence of any hard news started me thinking perhaps FR's site was under attack, the enemies of Mankind were on the march. a new, more insidious directive by George Soros being undertaken by Attack Watch and the Obama Truth Team didn't seem out of the question. As the evening wore on,...
