CHARACTER A wise person once said, "You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing to him or for him." (author unknown) Columnist Ann Landers put it this way, "The best index of a person’s character is how he treats people who can do him absolutely no good." In the Christian Scriptures, the Apostle Paul talks about entertaining "angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:1) What these writers are talking about here is more than an act. It’s an attitude - about life, about people, and most importantly,...

After action report of yesterday's Chicago "Can you hear us NOW?" march on the media. Approximately 100 patriots gathered at 4:00pm outside of ABC news studios on State Street in Chicago. We sang God Bless America, The National Anthem and chanted "report the news" "do your jobs" "can you hear us now?" etc... After about 1/2 hour, we marched on over to CBS News studios. The folks at CBS saw us coming and pulled down the window shades to the studio. LOL, cowards. More chanting commenced. The protest was to last until 6pm, but I left at about 5:30 as...

PRAYER Dear Lord, As we offer You thanks and praise, we realize how important it is to stay prepared for all the surprises in life. Daily, so many things catch us off guard, though they seem to happen over and over again. Would life be easier if we could begin the day with, "This is a drill. This is a drill?" Would we be any more prepared if there were drills for the many personal challenges we respond to daily? Besides a "general quarters" for missile hits, we'd prepare to take hits for all...

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this. 1. It's impossible for us to enforce.2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.4. Thick skin helps.5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply. Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps. THE REAL MEANING OF PEACE There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for the peaceful towering mountains all around. Overhead was a blue sky fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other...

As we gathered Oct. 19 for Week 193, Post Commander Halsey came with the sad news. Another Legionnaire, Francis, had passed away the night before. When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands... Don’t get me wrong, while I love to see the leftist eat each other alive, we cannot let this leftist protest against Obama go unchallenged. The affect of the leftist protest will result in even stricter Rules of Engagement for our troops, the closing of Gitmo, and Obama looking more like a centralist then the extreme left winger that he is. Our message must reflect our support of our troops’ mission, the damage that will result from the closing Gitmo or from even releasing Gitmo detainees, and that Obama is still a leftist even if he blows off the protestors....

"PRECIOUS IN HIS SIGHT" Just a children's song remembered from a Sunday School class long ago: "Red and yellow, black and white; they are precious in his sight; Jesus loves the little children of the world." But it expresses a profound truth. One that might change the world if we took it seriously. Sort of like the lesson in the poem a friend sent me yesterday. It's worth more than a second reading. It may reveal ... or remind you... of more truth than you expect! "We pray for the children who put chocolate...

ISN'T IT OBVIOUS? This warning label (among about a half dozen warning labels) appears on my son's baby carriage: Do not fold carriage with baby inside! It may seem funny to state something so obvious, but I suppose to cover themselves against lawsuits from people who couldn't figure out to first remove the baby, they put on the warning label. The Prophet Micah gives us easy-to-follow instructions for a good life that seem so obvious and elementary we wonder, is that all we have to do to live happily and peacefully? The answer is...
