A Thankful Heart Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. — Philippians 4:6 Years ago I taught a message saying that when you ask God for something, you should thank Him ahead of time that you are going to get it because that will help release your manifestation. I believe that. I took the scripture above to mean just that, that when I prayed for something, I should start...

The Birther movement is convinced that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen and hence is constitutionally prohibited from being President. Most Birthers claim that Obama was born in Kenya, while others think his birth occurred in Indonesia. Even though Obama has released a copy of his birth certificate showing that he was born on Oahu, these conspiracy theories continue to animate the fanatical right. What is most surprising about these conspiracy theories is the number of relatively mainstream people willing to associate themselves with the Birthers or at least recognize the issue as a legitimate controversy. One of CNN’s...

I read a post over at Quoth the Raven this morning from Celebrimbor that got me thinking. In it, he mentioned a Wall Street Journal piece by Daniel Henninger titled "Hasan, Not KSM, Is Our Real Problem." The quote that caught my eye when pointed out by Celebrimbor was this one:For now this is the way it is: Future Hasans can get jacked up all day on kill-the-Americans Web sites, and we have to wait until they put in motion a conspiracy like Fort Dix or the Colorado jihadists. Or until they start shooting.Over the past few posts I've been...

The Manhattan Declaration was unveiled at a press conference Nov. 20. Now, more than 200,000 people have signed the document that outlines Christian teaching on abortion, marriage and rights of conscience. Chuck Colson, founder of The Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, said on his daily Breakpoint commentary that the declaration was a proclamation that Christians will protect the tenets of their faith. "There, in front of all those cameras and lights, Christian leaders lovingly, winsomely and firmly took a stand," he said. "I will never forget the picture. I stood between Archbishop Wuerl of Washington and Cardinal Rigali, Archbishop...

Usually in these posts I show you how YouTube is helping the terrorists by allowing them server space for their enemy propaganda at no charge. Today, however, I'm going to show you how a different U.S. company is helping the Taliban hide their information by being a proxy domain holder for the official Taliban website, the Voice of Jihad (link is anonymized.) First - the evidence of terror-supporting activities on this site -- when you first open the site, you'll notice a scrolling graphic of military members (mostly U.S. and British) who have been killed by the terrorist Taliban,...

Walter Reed, Week 241, 11/27/09 Thanksgiving – Thanking Our Brave Soldiers The Friday After Thanksgiving FRONT GATE NOTES November 27, 2009, Thanksgiving, No Bus and Patriotism Friday night after Thanksgiving is normally quiet with light traffic. Tonight was no different. Very windy, making the hi 40’s seem like the lo 30’s. Even so, eleven of us were in place during the evening. The wind was so stiff that our banners would have blown away, leaving us with signs and hand held flags. The war doesn’t stop though and two big ambulances raced down Georgia Ave and into Walter Reed to...

Faith or Fear? For whatever does not originate and proceed from faith is sin [whatever is done without a conviction of its approval by God is sinful]. — Romans 14:23 Is it possible to allow someone to control and manipulate us, honestly saying we are doing so in faith? Of course not! We know this type of behavior is rooted in fear, not faith. Faith obeys God, but fear is easily intimidated and finds many excuses for disobedience. A person who is a perfectionist, a workaholic, or involved in sexual perversion is just as...

Allah forbid a major big box retailer send holiday wishes to members of one of the world’s largest religions. But that’s what Best Buy did, including a small message wishing Muslims a “Happy Eid al-Adha” in a circular. SUDDEN JIHAD SYNDROME (SJS): Sudden Jihad Sundrome is individual or small, un-attached groups of radicalized Islamics who decide to carry out Jihad, or Holy War, against those amongst whom they live. It usually involves a single person, but may include small groups, who are radicalized in their Mosques, their readings, their conversations, or otherwise, and who then decide on their own to wage war against those whom they live amongst. It is a very real and very dangerous occurance that a nation ignores, or tries to explain away with other politically correct or sociological explanations at their grave peril...

BE KIND TO STRANGERS Do not forget or neglect or refuse to extend hospitality to strangers [in the brotherhood — being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for through it some have entertained angels without knowing it. — Hebrews 13:2 A clique is an exclusive group, one to which not everyone is welcome. My name is ChaToyya Eryn ChaNayle. Through the years I've endured derision, cackles and mispronunciation. Let's ignore my middle names. Things might get a bit more complicated with those, but ChaToyya is pretty straightforward. Cha — as in Charlotte, Toy — as in a children's plaything, Ya — and if you can't figure that out, there is little help for you. An introductory mispronunciation is fine. I've done it too, but this continual ignorance of what is my name is not. The subtext is my name is merely a stereotype, freely available as someone's punch line, ignoring that my name...

The host of a national Catholic TV talk show says that Catholic Bishops have to come clean on their funding of groups that undermine traditional values and promote radical social change. Raymond Arroyo, host of Catholic television network EWTN's "The World Over" program, says that the evidence indicates that groups funded by the Bishops through the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) are actually "subverting" Catholic teaching on matters such as homosexual rights and abortion. He regrets that money being spent on such causes is coming at the expense of Catholic schools and hospitals facing funding shortfalls and possible closure....

The health care, or "Obama care," debate is more than about seniors, and I'm about to become one. It's also about rationing, lengthy waits for care, and sometimes no care at all for ALL age groups. I'm a Hugh Hewitt fan, but he, Dick Morris and others talk almost exclusively about the effect on seniors. That, unfortunately, limits the number of people outraged by the government-run "option." The current mammogram debate is an example of how everyone will be affected. Please call and write that everyone will be affected.

So yesterday we learned that Major Hasan was hanging out with an 18-year-old self-radicalized "jihad hobbyist." According to the expert Jarret Bachman, these kids start out with lighter fare and progressively seek out increasingly violent and angry rhetoric. When one seeker was looking on YouTube for martyrdom videos, they were directed to "look around online in the jihadi blogs." The internet and the videos available on YouTube and elsewhere are a part of the process for these would-be terrorists. Thanks YouTube - aren't you proud? A reknowned spammer just hit FR, he is probably from Senegal, and has been one of those "A rich uncle has to get $10 million out of senegal, if you give me $10k i can split the money with you" scammers. DO NOT give him your email address, he will sell it to dozens of email spambot networks. I hope this was self evident to the FR community, but would rather be seen as a bit pedantic than have FR be the vector for someone to lose their life savings from a African email scam.

We've all seen the photo: But does it tell the whole truth? I'm as anti Obama as anyone but the fact is Obama did have his hand on his heart, just not at the last second of a long musical note. Camera returns at 2:56 and Obama still has hand on heart till 2:59 when camera pans away again. The problem is when do you put your hand back down? As can be clearly...
