Five Reasons Why Fox News Dominated Ratings In 2009 by Steve Krakauer | 12:34 pm, December 18th, 2009 What we’ve known since about March is about to come true – Fox News is headed for its best ratings of all time this year. As their competitors in cable news fall far behind, FNC looks toward the rest of the cable universe as its new competition – it finished in the top five on all of cable in prime time and total day. What was the reason for FNC’s success? Heres’ five reasons. 1: Glenn Beck: Beck’s enormous success during his...

This is a really nice video of Terry Bradshaw on Fox News, meeting with the brave men and women of the armed forces. A must watch.

Michelle Malkin was on Fox and Friends. She was asked about the feud between California Gov and Sarah Palin, the current Health Care bill and Time Magazine's Person of the Year Award.

Fox News will finish 2009 as the top-rated cable news network, a perch it has enjoyed for eight years running. But 2009--the first year of the Obama administration--also marks FNC's highest rated year in the channel's 13-year-history. FNC topped the competition in all dayparts: morning (1 million total viewers, 340,000 viewers in news' target demographic of 25-54-year-olds); total day (1.2 million viewers, 323,000 in the demo); primetime (2.2 million viewers, 551,000 in the demo). Those numbers mark year-to-year demo gains of 14% in the morning, 16% in total day and 10% in primetime (Mon-Sun), according to Nielsen. FNC saw double-digit...

John Stossel had his first show on FOX tonight. He decided to go with Global Warming as a topic for the whole show. I really enjoyed it. If you're interested in checking out John Stossel's new FOX show: Click Here For The Videos. Look below the first video for parts 2-7.

Update: A CNN spokesperson responds, "You would think anyone commenting on the finances or marketing budget of CNN would have at least an elementary understanding of our business. CNN is enjoying its 6th straight year of profit growth and is, again, on track to deliver record earnings in 2009. As for being #1: CNN continues to have a larger audience on TV and the Web combined than Fox News or any other network." Earlier: Greta Van Susteren eviscerated CNN on her Fox News-hosted blog, beginning: "Have you seen CNN's new ad campaign? It must be costing a fortune. Why are...

John Stossel tells O’Reilly he’s going to Kick his butt in the ratings I remembered how 7 years ago when I was grassroots campaigning to get Stossel on Fox News. When they hired Greta instead I wrote this piece recommending that CNN, if they wanted to challenge Fox should hire John Stossel to take the 8:00PM time-slot and predicted that Stossel – who I feel is MUCH MORE acute than O’reilly – would beat him in the ratings. Well tonight, almost seven years later, Stossel who has been given a show on Fox Business Network during the 8:00PM time-slot was...

Greta Van Susteren feels sorry for CNN. On her blog today, she writes: So why do I feel bad (almost) for CNN? Because I have friends there...friends who now whisper to me everytime they see me, "what do you think is going on here? The place feels awful...it is dying." I worry about them. I want my friends to have jobs. Don't get me wrong I want to continue to win, but not to the extent their place goes belly up and my friends lose jobs. You should hear what is being said inside CNN. It is really bad when...

Glenn Beck’s Gold Endorsement Goes Too Far For Fox John CarneyDec. 8, 2009, 11:08 AM Glenn Beck has become something of a Gold Bug on his Fox News show, advising viewers to buy gold to protect themselves against the collapse of the dollar. But what he hasn’t told the Fox News audience is that he has a major sponsorhip deal with a gold coin dealer, according to Jeff Bercovici at Daily Finance. (Although this relationship is obvious and open to any listeners of his radio program.) And his close relationship with the dealer, Goldline International, now has Fox’s lawyers in...

John McCain’s choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate is sitting very well with a lot of American voters, according to the latest FOX News poll. The new survey also shows that—among all four candidates running—Palin (at 33 percent) is seen as most likely to understand “the problems of everyday life”—barely outpacing Barack Obama (32 percent), and finishing significantly ahead of both McCain (17 percent) and Joe Biden (10 percent). Among independent voters, Palin’s lead over Obama on this score widens to 13 points (35 percent to 22 percent). -——snip-——A solid majority of voters (54 percent) say...

If a scandal isn't reported by the media, does that mean it never happened? Nancy Morgan For the millions of Americans who don't watch Fox News or listen to talk radio, the answer is a resounding yes. Last Friday, November 20, evidence came to light that "appears to show a conspiracy to falsify data and suppress academic debate in order to exaggerate the possible threat of man-made global warming." Translation: The global warming movement rests almost entirely on the IPCC's claim to represent the "consensus" of climate science. That entire movement now stands discredited. In the face of this absolutely...

"TURN OFF FOX," an anti-free speech, Marxist activist group, is forming for the exclusive purpose of stifling dissent against their "Dear Leader", Barack Obama. Their target? FOX News, the only major media outlet not performing as the propaganda wing of the federal government. Consider the following from the "TURN OFF FOX" website:

Chris Matthews / Bishop Thomas Tobin Washington D.C., Nov 24, 2009 / 03:06 pm (CNA).- On Monday Bishop Thomas Tobin tangled with television pundit Chris Matthews on MSNBC’s “Hardball” about the relation between religion and politics as well as the legal status of abortion. Matthews’ comments, which charged that the bishop has overstepped his authority, were criticized as a “rant” and an “extended lecture.”Bishop Tobin, of the Diocese of Providence has been critical of Rhode Island U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy’s attacks on the Church for opposing abortion. Rep. Kennedy recently revealed that the bishop had asked him to refrain...

Here is video of Arianna Huffington telling Keith Olbermann that Glenn Beck should be exempted from free speech. Huffington said about Glenn Beck, "there is a good reason why we have an exemption to the free speech protected by the first amendment, when we say that you can't shout fire in a crowded theater, and he's doing that every night, he's basically using images of violence every night." Huffington said Glenn Beck and Fox News are "morally liable" if "any violence ensues from what he says." Read more...

Groucho Marx once said, ”Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.” I doubt that sentiment has ever more true than it is today. The entire Global Warming movement and all the idiocy that goes with it such as Cap & Trade, has become 100% political. There’s literally ZERO scientific evidence that validates the ridiculous CO2 theory that it’s based on. Lord Monckton, in his inimitable way, explained exactly what’s really behind this entire scam to Americans quite succinctly when he displayed his “Traffic Light Tendency” during his recent...

The Justice Department and President Obama are not calling the murders an act of terror. Why? A) Obama doesn’t want to admit an act of terror occurred on his watch. B) Just like he renamed the "War on Terror" an "overseas contingency operation," Obama has his own definition of terror. C) Obama is afraid the label "act of terror" will enflame the Muslim world. D) Both A and B E) A, B and C F) Obama is right to wait for federal agencies to complete their investigations.

Lou Dobbs knows the world is watching him closely now for clues that might explain his sudden resignation from CNN. So it's probably safe to read some meaning into the choice of the anchorman's venue for his first big post-CNN interview: He's going on Fox News. The network is set to announce that Dobbs will be a guest on Monday night's edition of Bill O'Reilly's show, DailyFinance has learned. Warm feelings between the two men goes back to last summer, when O'Reilly publicly defended Dobbs against critics who wanted him fired for repeatedly showcasting the claims of "birthers" who allege...

An ABC TV network news anchor said he’s troubled by what he called the biased news coverage of Fox and MSNBC. “I worry about the lack of objectivity and the future of the news business,” Charles Gibson told a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce audience yesterday. The host of ABC’s “World News” program said the two cable networks are playing to niche audiences - Fox to conservatives and MSNBC to liberals - to the detriment of what should be objective news gathering and reporting.

It’s an Obama infomercial! No, a Lesbian Night on the Fox channel? Wait, it’s a soft porn comedy hour on a major American television network. Actually, it's none of the above. It’s the premiere of the Wanda Sykes Show, a new one-hour program competing in the late night lineup. But at this juncture, it’s hard to tell what the show really is. The much buzzed “late-night show by the first gay black woman” with warnings of adult language and content conjures up an array of possibilities. Sadly, none of them really go anywhere in this perplexing presentation masquerading as hip....

U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, made the following remarks today on "Fox News Sunday" with host Chris Wallace:
-
Am I the only one upset that Chris Wallace and Fox News Sunday's "person of the week" was Jason Blair? This NYT liar was given this "honor" because he is now a "life coach" and uses the excuse of "bipolar" disease. This truly signifies the death of shame.

Saturday Night Live mocked FOX News and its pundits last night for their coverage of the 2009 elections. They included Glenn Beck, Greta Van Sustern, Juan William, Karl Rove and more. Personally, the lady imitating Greta bothers me. She is making her lips resemble Greta's. The Karl Rove imitator is a bit insulting also. Infact, they all are. Here's the link to the video

At least one Democratic political strategist has gotten a blunt warning from the White House to never appear on Fox News Channel, an outlet that presidential aides have depicted as not so much a news-gathering operation as a political opponent bent on damaging the Obama administration. Political consultants are a staple of cable television talk shows, analyzing current events based on their own experiences working on campaigns or in government. One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the...

Despite the fact that Fox News draws more viewers than CNN, MSNBC and Headlne News combined, the White House has announced its intent to boycott Fox for the next several months. In order to make up for the viewer shortfall, the White House will vary its appearance schedule to include "non-traditional" cable outlets.

Rush Limbaugh's tough criticisms of President Barack Obama on Fox News Sunday “broke” the White House's truce with Fox News, Bob Schieffer suggested during an interview with Obama's Senior Adviser, David Axelrod, on Face the Nation. After playing a clip of Limbaugh dismissing as “a photo-op” Obama's trip to Dover Air Force Base to witness returning casualties from Afghanistan and quoting Limbaugh's characterizations of Obama as “narcissistic,” “immature, inexperienced” and “in over his head,” Schieffer, seemingly referring to Limbaugh's remarks -- or, at least the decision by Fox News to feature Limbaugh on its Sunday interview show -- forwarded: Last...

Axelrod rebuffs Limbaugh for criticism By Tony Romm - 11/01/09 12:12 PM ET White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod on Sunday fired back at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who said earlier this morning the president was "a child" with an "out-of-this-world ego" that does not suit his "a five-minute career." "Well, I think it's a surreal day when you're getting lectures on humility from Rush Limbaugh," Axelrod told CBS' "Face the Nation." "The fact is that he is an entertainer. The president has to run the country," the adviser added. "He's the commander-in-chief. He has huge responsibilities. I think...

CBS News skepticism regarding the number of jobs saved by the Obama Administration’s stimulus legislation raised ire at the White House. CBS News reporter Chip Reid aired a report revealing that many of the Administration’s claimed “job saved or created” totals were either exaggerated or false. Separately, CBS investigative reporter Stephen Stock worked undercover to expose a pattern of fraud at medical clinics operating in South Florida. This is part of an estimated annual $60 billion worth of fraud perpetrated in the government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs. “We’re putting CBS on notice,” said Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel....

Wanda Sykes was once offered what many comics would call the fantasy job—her own nighttime talk show—but she turned it down. Between stand-up gigs, movie roles, and her part on The New Adventures of Old Christine, she was already keeping a lot of balls in the air. So what's this thing called The Wanda Sykes Show that's debuting this week? A talk show, of course. Sykes says that she changed her mind after the watershed with which we've credited just about everything short of gravity: the election of Barack Obama. "With what's going on politically, I just felt it would...

DETROIT — A mosque on Friday dismissed as "utterly preposterous" the FBI's allegations that its murdered leader was part of a radical Islamic group. Luqman Ameen Abdullah, the imam or prayer leader of Masjid Al-Haqq in Detroit, was a "recognized and respected member of numerous mainstream Muslim organizations and leadership bodies," the mosque said.

After months of taking incoming fire from the prime-time stars of Fox News, the Obama White House is firing back, "FOX News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party," said Anita Dunn, White House communications director. "If media is operating basically as a talk radio format, then that's one thing, and if it's operating as a news outlet, then that's another," Mr. Obama said. Last Sept. 20, the president went on every Sunday news show - except Chris Wallace's show on FOX. And on Thursday, the Treasury Department tried to exclude...

Rahm Emanuel once sent a dead fish to a live pollster. Now he's put a horse's head in Roger Ailes's bed. Not very subtle. And not very smart. Ailes doesn't scare easily. The White House has declared war on Fox News. White House communications director Anita Dunn said that Fox is "opinion journalism masquerading as news." Patting rival networks on the head for their authenticity (read: docility), senior adviser David Axelrod declared Fox "not really a news station." And Chief of Staff Emanuel told (warned?) the other networks not to "be led [by] and following Fox."

We need to make some big numbers on this thing. Fox may not be perfect, but its the best we have in terms of Television.

The all-out concerted effort by the Obama administration to discredit the Fox News Network was a very bad idea, but that's not just my opinion. A former senior adviser to President Carter, Patrick Caddell, appeared on Mike Huckabee's show on Fox last Saturday. He appeared with a former White House counsel for the Clinton administration, Lanny Davis. Both men are strong supporters of President Obama, yet both agreed that going after a news network was unwise, which prompts the question: Exactly whose idea was it to do the unthinkable?

This week it's ABC News' Jake Tapper asking why the Obama team was treating one of the "sister organizations" so badly -- and the news that the White House had tried to block a Fox News reporter from interviewing the so-called pay czar. (After all the networks objected, the White House relented.) It seems like time for a survey:
