With a new poll showing Donald Trump ahead by four points in Florida (46-42), he now inches ahead by one-tenth of one percent in the Real Clear Politics average. With Hillary Clinton’s email troubles and new concerns over her health, Trump could continue to rise, provided he sticks to his script. That is never a certainty. First, we should all wish Secretary Clinton a quick recovery. No one should want their candidate to benefit from an opponent’s medical issue. On something as serious as a person’s health, the Basket of Deplorables should be empty. JMC Analytics and Polling, based in...

PPP's newest Florida poll finds a very tight race for President in the state. In the full field Donald Trump gets 44% to 43% for Hillary Clinton, with Gary Johnson at 5%, and Jill Stein and Evan McMullin each at 1%. But in a head to head between Clinton and Trump, the nominal lead flips to Clinton at 47/46. That's because voters who support one of the minor candidates or are undecided in the full field pick Clinton by 12 points over Trump if they had to choose just between the two major candidates. Much has been made about how...

Shaqueenia Hanna, 35, was in critical condition Tuesday at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her ex-boyfriend Terrell Robinson, 31, and who police and family believed committed the crime, is still on the run.

On November 7, 2000, during the final hour and a half of voting in Florida's most conservative region, the Panhandle, 13 national television journalists, representing all six major outlets, asserted a total of 39 times that the polls in that region closed an hour earlier than they really did. Not once did anyone on ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News Channel, NBC, or MSNBC inform the audience that Florida has two time zones and two poll closing times. They hammered away that there was only one poll-closing time throughout the entire state of Florida: 7 p.m. Eastern. The polls in the...

In the year 2042, something potentially significant to Central Florida motorists could happen. The Central Florida Expressway Authority, which operates 109 miles of toll roads in Orange County, will have paid off its $4.3 billion in bonds. But when the roads are paid for, what happens to the tolls? Many drivers would love to see them disappear. "That would be a big break for a lot of people," said Steven Dewdney, an Orlando resident. But because Central Florida has growing transportation needs and will need to build more roads and support commuter rail, removing tolls are unlikely, experts say. The...

Progressives don’t pay attention to what’s important. Sure, they’re up-to-date with the Kardashians and how incredibly awesome Hillary Clinton is, but they’re not really good for much else. While Hillary was fundraising and Barack Obama was vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard, Donald Trump flew down to Louisiana to distribute supplies to those affected by the massive flooding. Progressives yawned. Now, Trump’s Florida team is doing what it can to people who are dealing with the powerful post-tropical cyclone Hermine. Where’s Hillary, liberals? Where are your beloved Democrat “leaders?” Trump is looking more presidential by the day. Too bad the mainstream media...

The provenance of this poll, very much Democratic, is dubious, and the sample size suffers from the usual problem when polling Jews in Florida, it's vanishingly small, yet the results are interesting in one particular regard. Orthodox Jews as a group comprise the single outlier to this trend, with 46 percent identifying Israel as one of their top two voting priorities. They constitute the only group within the survey—including age, education and denomination—to identify as majority Republicans(67 percent). They hold extremely positive views of President George W. Bush (+69) and extremely negative views of President Barak Obama (-55). Sixty-six percent...
