A suspected diaper thief shot dead outside a Pine Hills Wal-Mart on Saturday was a fugitive on felony probation at the time of his death, state records show. Arthur “Art” Adams, 19, was a gang member who was planning to sell the diapers, Orange County sheriff’s Capt. Angelo Nieves said. Adams had an arrest record dating to 2011, when he was 15 years old, records show. He was sentenced to four years of probation in June for two 2013 racketeering convictions. Deputies told the station the person killed was 19 and was shoplifting diapers with three accomplices. Police are looking into a hate crime in Orlando after a local woman told WESH 2 News all three of her family members' vehicles were vandalized with hateful words left behind. Portia Allen was astounded when she discovered she was the victim of a hate crime. "This is 2017. This is not supposed to happen," Allen said. A Florida man was convicted on Tuesday of plotting to set off a bomb at a public beach in an act that prosecutors said was inspired by the militant group Islamic State. Stuart, Florida – Residents in the south Florida town of Stuart are not happy with Mayor Eula Clarke after she threw an open insult at an officer in their town. The insult came from Mayor Eula Clarke while inside of a grocery store. Mayor Clarke reportedly said, “What are we serving, pig today?,” when she entered the store and saw the officer. After the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association got involved, she issued an apology in what she called an “unfortunate incident.”
