Pencils and notebooks resembling President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign ads have been sold in at least one Columbia school and other public schools, causing the company that distributes the materials to travel around the state yanking the supplies out of machines. “Don’t be mad at us,” said Greg Jones, a sales representative with Pencil Wholesale. “It was a total accident.” Pencil Wholesale distributes supplies to six Columbia schools: Parkade Elementary, Cedar Ridge Elementary, Paxton Keeley Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Smithton Middle School and Hickman High School, said Linda Quinley, the district’s chief financial officer. At Mill Creek, at least one...

Over the last week, Big Hollywood and Big Government have been extensively covering the August 10 conference call between the National Endowment for the Arts and a group of artists – a call on which the artists were encouraged to support President Obama’s agenda, with the tacit promise that they would be handsomely rewarded with government grants. The NEA representative on the call was then-Communications Director of the NEA Yosi Sergant. Now we have new evidence that the White House itself has been using its sway to recruit artists – not just to support President Obama’s “volunteerism” initiatives, but to...

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP -- New Jersey's education commissioner ordered a review after a YouTube video shows school children learning a song celebrating President Barack Obama. The video shows more than a dozen youngsters at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township. The district said the students were participating in Black History Month in February. Education Department spokeswoman Kathryn Forsyth said the commissioner has directed the school superintendent to review what happened. Forsyth said the commissioner wants to ensure that students can celebrate Black History Month without "inappropriate partisan politics in the classroom." Forsyth also said the teacher who directed the...

Another video of children singing praises of Barack Obama has surfaced on Youtube. In this case the kids appear to be students at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, New Jersey. The overall effect is somewhat creepy. American patriotic hymns do not, as a rule, celebrate people, even great ones like Washington and Lincoln. The Star Spangled Banner and the Battle Hymn of the Republic celebrate the common people of America, struggling to win and to maintain freedom. What happened at B. Bernice Young Elementary School is even more egregious in the fact that at least for the Sing...

PHILIP ELLIOTT (AP) - Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON White House officials told agencies across the government Tuesday they should take care to avoid even the appearance that politics played a part in the award of federal grants. The advisory came in response to an embarrassing incident last month in which a National Endowment for the Arts official asked artists on a conference call to coordinate with the Corporation for Public Service on ways to help bolster President Barack Obama's public service agenda

On August 25th 2009, Big Hollywood’s Patrick Courrielche broke the story of a conference call he attended with other “rising artist and art community luminaries”: On Thursday August 6th, I was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts to attend a conference call scheduled for Monday August 10th hosted by the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and United We Serve. The call would include “a group of artists, producers, promoters, organizers, influencers, marketers, taste-makers, leaders or just plain cool people to join together and work together to promote a more civically engaged America and celebrate how...

While Jay Leno had a fake presidential interview on his first show Monday night, David Letterman will have the real thing September 21. President Barack Obama will make the first appearance ever by a sitting U.S. President on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman on next Monday’s show. He will be the sole guest on the broadcast. President Obama has already appeared on The Tonight Show since being inaugurated in January, making a visit to the program, then hosted by Jay Leno, on March 19.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- President Obama will deliver a "major speech" on the global financial crisis on Monday, the White House said on Thursday evening. The speech comes one year to the day after Lehman Brothers collapsed and precipitated a financial crisis that reverberated across the globe. Obama will deliver the remarks on the crisis at Federal Hall in New York City at midday. "He will discuss the aggressive steps the Administration has taken to bring the economy back from the brink, the commitment to winding down the government's role in the financial sector and the actions the United...

The "post-partisan" candidate for "change" has conducted his umpteenth ultra-partisan misinformation-fest on ObamaCare. The most egregious distortions and falsehoods are as follows... 7. "Unfortunately, in 34 states, 75 percent of the insurance market is controlled by five or fewer companies. In Alabama, almost 90 percent is controlled by just one company. And without competition, the price of insurance goes up and quality goes down...I just want to hold [insurance companies] accountable." The glaringly obvious (and cost-free) solution to insurance monopolies is to eliminate the government restrictions that make them unavoidable. This is a blatantly dishonest attempt to misrepresent a clearly...

Print out one of these handy banners and tape to the bottom of your TV screen....You know those annoying news banners at the bottom of the television screen on news channels? Well, here's your chance to make your own and have some fun if you plan to watch Obama's big speech to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night. Copy one or more of these into your word processor and print them out on a sheet of paper with a font large enough to be seen from across the room. Then tape to the bottom of the screen as Obama...

Recycling posters featuring the picture of US President Barack Obama have reportedly been spotted on garbage cans at the Estonian capital's airport. Obama's photograph is encircled with the three arrows that symbolize recycling and encourages consumers with his campaign slogan "Yes, We Can," Russia Today (RT) reported citing a report at delfi.ee. Eesti Pakendiringlus, an Estonian recycled packaging company, is stressing on the “can” with a pun on the word's other meaning tin.

The purpose of this thread is to secure a commitment from each local Principal to provide an opt-out so that no one is forced to endure Obama's subtle, presumptuous speech. Below, I will provide a sample of reasonable letters we want the Principal to sign. If refused, we know where they stand and will take the appropriate action against them. Here is an article of how they roll in Colorado. http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2009/09/douglas_county_school_allows_p.php It would be useful if the only comments on this thread are how to do this, report your results and contact information for the press to report and follow-up...

By PUMA Pundit on September 2, 2009 Remember, the Dept. of Education expects your kids to read books on the life of Barack Obama before the monumental speech on September 8th, well here’s a look at two of the books that shall be used: The first book is aptly titled: Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope and here is the description, direct from the Publisher’s Website: Ever since Barack Obama was young, Hope has lived inside him. From the beaches of Hawaii to the streets of Chicago, from the jungles of Indonesia to the plains of Kenya, he...

School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like a protester’s anti-ObamaCare poster which used one of the viral "Joker" graphics. Officer Cheeks told some town hall protesters to put away their signs or he’ll "charge them with trespassing or whatever he wants." Then, when a protester said to Officer Cheeks, "This used to be America!" his response was: “It ain’t no more, OK?” Pro-Obama Cop to...

The mother of a sixth-grade Malden girl, whose “mean sign” question to President Obama at his Portsmouth, N.H., health care forum was a softball that he slugged out of the park, insisted yesterday the child was not “a plant.” “I thought it was great,” Kathleen Manning Hall said of Obama’s answer to the question posed by her daughter Julia. The girl became a target of conservative critics such as Michelle Malkin yesterday, who alleged that the poised and eloquent 11-year-old was “a plant” after the revelation that her mother served as an organizer for Obama’s campaign.

Sept. 19 is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Courageous Captain Rescued by Navy Seals View SlideshowCaptain Richard Phillips, who has been held by Somali pirates since Wednesday in a small life boat off of Africa, has been freed. After this weekend, April 12 might become International Keelhaul A Pirate Day. With a rescue of captured Richard Phillips, captain of the Maersk Alabama -- and killing the Somali pirates holding him hostage -- the US Navy created a feel-good Easter story. Even more significantly in a political sense, President Barack Obama suddenly makes himself look rather different on the national...

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - President Barack Obama promised Monday to work with other nations "to halt the rise of piracy," while Somali pirates vowed revenge for the deaths of three colleagues shot by snipers during the daring high-seas rescue of an American sea captain. The pirates' threat raised fears for the safety of some 230 foreign sailors still held hostage in more than a dozen ships anchored off lawless Somalia.

Now, this has occurred before with Bill Clinton, and it quite possibly could have been the same with Bush - the issue is how the MSM spins this and how it will report one way if you are affiliated with one party versus the other way when you have the “scarlet” R next to your name. From Flopping Aces: “Cheered wildly by U.S. troops,” begins Jennifer Democratic Operative Loven’s AP report on Obama’s surprise visit to Iraq on Tuesday. Quite a contrast to the silent treatment Marines gave Obama at his Camp LeJeune speech in late February. Just how did...

Monday, April 13, 2009 BREITBART: Jon Stewart and Kumar go to D.C. Andrew Breitbart On Tuesday night I was bestowed the honor of being ridiculed on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican — a cross section of people you might expect to be critical of an administration implementing...

Comic legend Jackie Mason is railing against accusations of racism following a performance in New York Thursday, where he referred to President Barack Obama as a "schwartza." Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com confronted Mason with a camera on Friday over the flap. The celebrity gossip site reported that that the literal translation of "schwartza" in Yiddish is "black," but added that some say "it's a disparaging reference to African Americans, akin to the N-word." Mason told a TMZ cameraman, "(I'm not going to answer) these stupid questions because you're trying to multiply me into a racist. I've called (people) a lot...

Obama Gets Bipartisan Credit February 19, 2009 @ 4:10 pm by Hill Staff Don't forget, in politics, perception is reality. In the battle for the mantle of bipartisanship, President Obama is winning by a mile. It doesn't matter that Obama got a stimulus bill passed with exactly three Senate Republican votes and not a single House GOP vote. It doesn't matter that both parties turned from talking about bipartisanship to spewing vitriolic accusations of ill will. The American people have spoken, and they're with the president on this one. A new Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll shows 66 percent of Americans...

An off-putting remark about one president landed another one in the doghouse for two weeks. I think we should check the back of his head to see if he has 666 there, but that is another issue,” according to meeting minutes. Secondo, a registered Democrat who supposedly voted for Obama, said he would take the statement...

CALGARY - U.S. President Barack Obama says Alberta's oilsands industry "creates a big carbon footprint" that leaves Canada and America facing an environmental dilemma about how to curb greenhouse-gas emissions from energy development. He also says he's eyeing carbon capture and storage as a possible solution. As the public-relations war between industry and environmental groups heats up over the oilsands - the second-largest oil reserves on the planet next to Saudi Arabia - the massive development in northern Alberta has clearly caught the eye of the 44th U.S. president. Obama has previously vowed to end America's addiction to "dirty, dwindling...

Rush Limbaugh Talk-radio giant Rush Limbaugh is blasting the so-called economic stimulus plan of President Obama and the Democrat-led Congress, calling it an assault on capitalism intentionally designed to harm the private sector and lead to bigger government. "That's why they can't stop themselves. It is Christmas morning every day for these people. There's nobody that can stop them." A question e-mailed to the host asked if the Democrats really understood that they're "destroying...

Actual evidence of an ODS pandemic, however, is sketchy. In fact, most references to ODS are from conservatives warning against “irrational rage,” as the blogger Neo-Neocon did at Pajamas Media just five days after Obama won the election. Similarly, David Horowitz invoked ODS in December to condemn a “fringe group” that had succumbed to “sore loserism” by floating the idea that a forged birth certificate had been used to hide Obama’s foreign birth, which allegedly made him ineligible for the presidency. ABC’s Jake Tapper is the only mainstream journalist who claims to have diagnosed a genuine case of ODS, using...

Even in a city of cynics, the Inauguration of a new president — and the infusion of new ideas, new personalities and new energy that comes with it — summons feelings of reverence. Barack Obama, especially, is the object of inaugural good feelings. He has assembled an impressive White House and Cabinet team. The country is clearly in his corner. With the economy gasping, and two wars dragging on sullenly, even many Republicans who ordinarily might enjoy seeing Obama fail now root for him to succeed. The stakes are simply too great. Amid all these high hopes, it may seem...

Mason school officials said they are taking a proactive educational approach in advance of next week's planned Inauguration Day activities. "Inappropriate comments that may make other students, staff or families feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in school or on the bus will not be tolerated," Superintendent Kevin Bright said in an e-mail sent to parents Monday, Jan. 12. The district, he said, expects students and staff to show respect for President-elect Obama and the incoming administration, as well as President Bush and the outgoing administration, and recognize that "while the election is a competitive process, our nation's greatness is displayed when...

President Barack Obama's inauguration next week is set to be the most expensive ever, predicted to reach over $150m (£102m). This dwarfs the $42.3m spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005 and the $33m spent on Bill Clinton's in 1993. Part of the spending includes emergency funding announced by the White House on Tuesday to help with the soaring costs. Most of this new federal funding will be to deal with the huge influx of people, estimated 1.5 million to 2 million. A White House statement said that President Bush "declared an emergency exists in the District of Columbia". If...

BRINKLEY, Ark. - Wayne Loewer's truck reveals a lot about his life. A 12-gauge shotgun for duck hunting rests on the floorboard. A blue thermal lunch bag containing elk meat is shoved under the seat, left in haste that morning by his teenage son rushing to catch the school bus. Binoculars in the console help Loewer scan his 2,900 acres of rice, soybeans and corn. The dashboard radio is set to classic rock, playing the same Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes from Loewer's high school days, when Brinkley was still a thriving small town with stores and a movie theater. His muddy...

BERKELEY, California: The hundreds who massed at the University of California campus here on election night responded to Barack Obama's victory by heading off on a route that has been for a generation the sacred way for the activist left: out the campus gates, through Sproul Plaza, and down Telegraph Avenue toward People's Park. By the time they arrived at the intersection of Telegraph and Durant avenues, where a tie-dye vendor occupies one corner, it became clear they did not come to challenge the system now preparing to consecrate a new regime in Washington. At one point, a man scaled...

Will America Unite in One Obama? by Edward Hudgins December 29, 2008 - George W. Bush ran for president as “a uniter, not a divider.” He only managed to unite Republicans and Democrats in disappointment—though for different reasons—with his administration. Barack Obama sounded the same theme: “We’re all in this together!” Will he succeed where Dubya failed? Divided States of Americans Many Americans have seen in recent years the culture and politics growing more mean and coarse, contentious and uncivil, malicious and malevolent. We’re bombarded by coast-to-coast belly-aching on 24-hour cable news channels where we’re likely to encounter shout-fests. Talk...

By July, we will come to feel that 2009 will be one of the most upbeat years in our history, as what used to be the news media∗ begins to get behind America and report on all the mysteriously wonderful things that are suddenly taking place. All the campaign talk of the Great Depression, a Vietnam-like war, and our shredded Constitution will now thankfully subside as the Obama administration assumes office and solves problems with conciliation, dialogue, and multilateral wisdom, rather than shrillness, unilateralism, preemption, and my-way-or-the-highway dogmatism. We will hear that, by historical levels, unemployment is still not that...

We've seen it over and over, people in Europe who imagine that they should be allowed to vote U.S. presidential elections. Well, Michael Schaffer of The New Republic has a few things to say about you: ...the president-elect, according to his more fervent campaign-season detractors, has a raft of unforgivable faults: He's a socialist, a Muslim, an actual love-child of Malcolm X. His birth certificate was missing, his book had been ghost-written by William Ayers, and his wife, "Mrs. Grievance," as a National Review cover dubber her, was perennially on the cusp of getting caught ranting against the white man. The only thing keeping the Illinois senator's infamy from going public is the quiescence of the liberal media. Perhaps you remember....

Backing Obama gets top cop in hot water October 31, 2008 BY FRANK MAIN, FRAN SPIELMAN AND LISA DONOVAN Staff Reporters A Chicago alderman wants police Supt. Jody Weis to be disciplined for making a statement in a TV interview earlier this month that seemed to support Barack Obama's candidacy. Earlier this year, the department reprimanded a detective who campaigned for Ald. Tom Allen (38th) in his failed race for Cook County state's attorney. The department found the detective had violated a rule barring officers from engaging in partisan activity while wearing the uniform or identifying themselves as officers. »...

We attended a McCain rally in Sarasota, Florida on Thursday and picked up some bumper stickers. I just went to the neighborhood convenience store to get some milk, which took maybe five minutes. When I returned to my car, I noticed that my "NObama" bumper sticker read "Obama". Somebody used some kind of blade to cut off the "N" and left a deep scratch as well. And they consider the Democratic Party the party of tolerance. Is this what we are to expect from an Obama presidency? Will even the slightest, most inoffensive dissent be stifled?
