Bank of America chief executive Kenneth Lewis has decided to forgo his total pay for 2009 -- giving in to pressure from the Obama administration's "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg. Lewis announced recently that he was stepping down -- a victim of the continuing fall-out from BofA's Merrill Lynch purchase last year. Even though the takeover occurred as Merrill was going broke, its executives received millions in bonuses. While Bank of America received billions in federal TARP money, BofA shareholders ended up losing millions in stock value. Both federal regulators and New York's attorney general are probing the transaction. There needs...

As many all ready know, the powers that be in the NFL have decided to believe the lies and innuendos about Rush Limbaugh. They have even gone so far as to pressure the Checkett's ownership group into dropping Rush Limbaugh as a partner, thus denying him the right to even apply to be an owner of an NFL team. Like Rush, and many other football fans, I too have had to put up with leftist football prognosticators and their off comment remarks about Americans like me and the politicians I vote for. Being a conservative means becoming accustomed to being...

On September 10th of this year the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) posted a press release informing the world that “from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows [will] spotlight the power and personal benefits of service,” and that this “unprecedented block of TV programming is the first wave of a multi-year ‘I Participate’ campaign.”

National service and volunteerism is a top priority of both the President and the First Lady. A broad effort has been launched to promote this priority. We’ve seen this in the May 12th White House briefing, the August 10th and 27th art community conference calls, and now in a new effort by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, entitled iParticipate, that is encouraging broadcast media to infuse national service stories into their show plots. The First Lady has even created a video expressing the importance of national service.

Most of Obama’s stated plans for America are indistinguishable from those of George Soros. As the left forces nationalized health care on us, we may want to consider Soros’s Project on Death. Soros is a leading promoter of the assisted suicide movement. He papers over it with tripe about compassion; in reality, the project is a push for palliative care rather than treatment for gravely ill patients. As always, it’s all about the money:

Coordinated international action helped save the world from the financial crisis that erupted last year, former President George W. Bush said Wednesday. "We intervened early, we intervened aggressively and we intervened together," Bush told the World Knowledge Forum, an annual conference sponsored by a South Korean business newspaper. Bush added that it remains unknown what would have happened had action not been taken. "I believe because of close coordination and the willingness to act in the face of financial danger that the interjection of capital into the financial system helped save our economies," Bush said.

Snowe's a backstabbing RINO that just literally sh*t all over 300 million Americans voting for this along with the liberal democrat socialists on the finance committee. We all know that anyway. She just earned her ticket out of the Senate. send her a bunch of these and make sure she knows she's not getting any support from you and that you'll be supporting her opponents financially and otherwise. LAKEVILLE, Mass -- Police along with the Secret Service are investigating after a local country club discovered a swastika carved into the green. Lakeville County Club workers discovered the vandalism early Monday morning. Carved into the green on the 18th hole was a swastika next to President Barack Obama's name.

Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker opened the gates to hell this month when he ruled that strategists for Proposition 8 -- the 2008 ballot measure, passed by 52 percent of California voters, that limited marriage to a man and a woman -- must release internal campaign documents to measure opponents. Political activists of all stripes beware: Unless this ruling is overturned, the word will be out that sore losers who can't beat you at the ballot box and probably can't beat you in court can file a lawsuit designed to pry away proprietary information that they later can use...

Atheists recruited to be part of a lawsuit that is trying to rid government ceremonies such as the inauguration of a president of any invocation or other prayer have claimed they are made physically ill by prayer. "As I watched the inauguration, my stomach did a somersault with disgust for how much our country was violating the constitution (sic), the most important document in our country," wrote a 15-year-old in testimony being given to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. The lawsuit was filed before President Obama's inauguration and subsequently was dismissed at the district court...

The President of American Electric Power says cap and trade will eventually drive up the price of electricity, but Mike Morris says it's a necessary step for the United States and countries around the world when it comes to dealing with climate change. "We think that it's probably the best way to go about addressing the issue of global warming and I underline the phrase 'global warming' because, at the end of the day, that's the challenge," Morris said on Wednesday's MetroNews Talkline. The U.S. House of Representatives has already approved the massive climate change bill that is now being...

Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, has apparently hired a cadre of left-wing, Democrat campaign bloggers to troll through the Internet looking for news stories and blog posts that denigrate the Obama agenda. After such websites are found it is the job of these secret lefty bloggers to leave comments that come to the support of Obamaism in the comments sections. It seems that Eric Holder has created his own little propaganda unit in a valiant effort to become the Bloggi Riefenstahl of the Obama era. As reported at The Muffled Oar, a blog that first broke the story of Holder's...

So as it turns out, even the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has its own SWAT team. You don’t need to know. You can’t know.” That’s what Kathy Norris, a 60-year-old grandmother of eight, was told when she tried to ask court officials why, the day before, federal agents had subjected her home to a furious search. The agents who spent half a day ransacking Mrs. Norris’ longtime home in Spring, Texas, answered no questions while they emptied file cabinets, pulled books off shelves, rifled through drawers and closets, and threw the contents on the floor. The six agents, wearing...

Considering America’s now rampant economic illiteracy and widespread ignorance of history and philosophy, I wonder whether we’re now past the tipping point and the American Dream is doomed? You’ll notice that every policy decision that our beloved, alleged President makes is to further impoverish Americans – to make them wonderfully dependent, EQUALLY impoverished . . .

Finance Committee Democrat Won’t Read Text of Health Bill, Says Anyone Who Claims They’ll Understand It ‘Is Trying to Pull the Wool Over Our Eyes’ (CNSNews.com) - Sen. Thomas Carper (D.-Del.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not “expect” to read the actual legislative language of the committee’s health care bill because it is “confusing” and that anyone who claims they are going to read it and understand it is fooling people. “I don’t expect to actually read the legislative language because reading the legislative language is among the more confusing things I’ve ever...

Despite the American people’s overwhelming rejection of the notion of government-run health care, the Senate Finance Committee is expected to vote on passage of their amended “conceptual draft” of a health care bill this week. The committee is awaiting a “score” from the CBO before the vote -- a score forced by Democrats on a so-called “bill” that contains only “conceptual legislative language.” (The CBO score is to tally how much money the bill will cost taxpayers.) What a mess. The House is still sitting on their three bills that have been passed out of the related committees of jurisdiction...

The Anne Frank House has uploaded a video that provides a fleeting glimpse of Anne Frank on July 22, 1941, roughly a year before she went into hiding with her family. The video shows Anne leaning out of the second-floor window of her Amsterdam home to see her neighbor, who is getting married. The National Post reports that the video has become something of an internet sensation since it was uploaded this past Wednesday. "Nine seconds into the film," the paper adds, "a 13-year-old Anne is seen leaning out of a second-floor window, smiling and looking down at the street...

There's more than one way to get cap-and-trade, President Obama's energy czar said today. Carol Browner, the former Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) administrator who now serves in the Obama administration's newly created role of energy czar, floated the possibility today of the EPA implementing cap-and-trade energy policies, during an interview at The Atlantic's First Draft of History symposium in Washington, DC. "We also have the reality of EPA, under current law, moving forward...to start the traditional regulatory clock," Browner said when asked, during an interview with Atlantic Media Political Director Ronald Brownstein, about the difficulties of passing the stalled energy/climate...

In 1949 George Orwell (pseudonym Eric Blair, 1903-1950) wrote 1984, a political prophecy that portrayed a Progressive Party’s ultimate achievement of its Totalitarian goals in a Utopian State of complete Oligarchy. This chilling account of a Utopian Dream that evolved into a Dystopia was titled, 1984. So frightening was the premise of the novel, that the number 1984 became a part of our language, along with the nebulous figure of “Big Brother.” Many who read the book breathed a sigh of relief when the year came and passed without the realization of the dreaded situations described in the book. Perhaps...

Rally in Albany Tuesday Over H1N1 Flu Shot Debate (New York, NY) -- Hundreds of health care workers will rally in Albany Tuesday, angry that they are being made to receive H1N1 flu shots. The State Health Department has made it mandatory that all health care workers get immunized by November 30th. The protestors say their rights are being violated and that they can not be forced to get a H1N1 flu shot. Officials say there will be exceptions for those health care workers who have a personal health issue that would prevent them from getting the shot. WOR News...

Recently declassified documents obtained by Wired magazine reveal a massive Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) data mining operation. It already possesses over 1.5 billion records from government and private-sector sources. That figure is expected by the FBI to balloon to over 6 billion within a few years. And it is not just terrorists they are after. According to the documents, the National Security Branch Analysis Center (NSAC) is being used to pursue multiple types of non-terrorism domestic investigations. It is also meant to be able to sort through the data — everything from health and travel records to credit card...

“You’re all racists!” That’s the meme sweeping the mainstream media and left-leaning Web sites these days. Conservative opposition to the Democratic policies championed by President Obama. Everybody is saying it. Former President Jimmy Carter is saying it. Frank Rich of The New York Times is saying it. Orlando Romero of the Santa Fe New Mexican is saying it. All the cool people are saying it, so it must be true, right? The fact is, conservatives oppose leftist politicians because they try to enact leftist policies. Barack Obama is a leftist politician and therefore conservatives oppose his policies. Because the swing...

If nothing else, the Obama eruption in American politics is steadily revealing the stark reality behind the progressive movement - the totalitarian temptation is always there and, for more than a few, possessing the official power to compel sooner or later becomes irresistible. Not everybody on the left, of course. Some of the folks I most admire in this town are liberals whose work on behalf of values like transparency in government and protecting civil liberties is remarkable and essential. Still, that this danger is real and growing becomes more obvious as public opposition grows to the president's across-the-board campaign...

By now most, if not all of you, have seen this video of school children praising Obama. It was posted to YouTube just two days before Obama's speech to the students across America, which makes me wonder if it was part of some school’s festivities for the screening. This video justifies the fears many parents have that their kids are being politically indoctrinated by the school system. This is something that has been going on for years and congress was even warned about in 1963, but more on that in a moment. As we all know, this is not...

Dan Fuchs said business was just starting to pick up at his kiosk in the Mall at Johnson City. Fuchs’ business, the Graphic Edge, printed slogans and pictures on items such as coffee cups, bumper stickers and T-shirts. He said more than half of his business came from the sale of anti-Obama merchandise. Bumper stickers with slogans such as “SOS: Stop Obama’s Socialism,” “Nobama,” and “Chicago got the party, but the country got the hangover” were displayed around the small stand. Now it appears Fuchs is out of business at the mall, but mall officials say this decision was not...

This doesn't happen often enough. Sen. Remember when the self-proclaimed most powerful woman in the world, Nancy Pelosi promised the most “honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history." But Pelosi must believe that being honest and open has nothing to do with reading a bill before it is voting. Back in June, Congressional Republicans introduced H. Res 554. The bill's purpose is to amend the Rules of the House of Representatives to require that legislation and conference reports be available on the Internet for 72 hours before consideration by the House, giving the members and the public time to read the bill before it...

Please view H.R. 3200 and leave a comment. I look forward to reading your thoughts and restoring public trust in the government by raising the level of openness, order and discourse. On January 20th, 2009 the White House promised to publish legislation on their website “for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President sign it.” Nine months later, the President has not lived up to his promise. Since the President has failed to live up to his word, today I am making H.R. 3200 available for public comment through a new technology called Sharedbook....

In case you were wondering which school taught kids that “Barack Hussein Obama mmm mmm mmm” rap that I posted yesterday afternoon (http://michellemalkin.com/2009/09/23/dear-leader-in-the-classroom/), here are some new details. Here’s some footage to gladden the heart: children at an elementary school in New Jersey being coached by their teacher to sing a song in praise of their Dear Leader. I wholeheartedly endorse Peter Schiff for Senate. To understand why, in spite of previous differences between us, please consider the following compelling case, starting with a look at government bailouts, the moral hazards of too big to fail, the current rise in the stock markets, and the "great government advance" of corporate welfare and bailouts at taxpayer expense. Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor, Professor at Berkeley, discusses government intrusion in Why the Dow is Hitting 10,000 While Everyone Else is Cutting Back. So how can the Dow be flirting with 10,000 when consumers, who make up 70 percent of...

In declaring that it is time for Middle East peace "without preconditions," President Obama used his speech to the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday to fire a warning at Israel that "America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements." Obama's stark declaration, which drew applause, was coupled with a call for Palestinians to end their "incitement of Israel." But it was the use of the U.N. forum to carry the settlement message to Israel that drew the most enthusiastic response on the floor -- and incredulous reaction outside its walls. Obama just put Israel "on the chopping block," said...

(Previously - Part 1: What's Good for the Goose-Step is Good Propaganda)Typical of this idealizing is how leaders are portrayed - larger than life and "special" - they are often portrayed in ways normally reserved for saints. They are, after all, secular messiahs. Figures like Lenin and Mao were represented in ways that lent them an air of transcendence, a sort of superhuman aura. This is achieved through techniques of representation, composition and distribution. Note how the perspective has the viewer looking up at them - a psychological cue that hooks into our memories of looking up at mommy, daddy,...

Free Press is reporting that Democratic Representative John Conyers (Chairman House Judiciary Committee) and Barney Frank (Chairman House Financial Committee) are caving under mounting pressure to invetigate the ACORN scandal exposed by James O'Keefe and Hanah Giles - but there's a sick fascistic twist - the two wunderkinds are also calling for an investigation of Big Government and the "individuals" who secretly shot the damning videos. Americans must pose the following question of our fearless leaders. Do they also intend to investigate ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN? All of whom have used the exact same journalistic tactics to expose outrageous...

U.S. to push for new economic world order at G20 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States will urge world leaders this week to launch a new push in November to rebalance the world economy, but there are doubts national governments will bow to external advice. A document outlining the U.S. position ahead of the September 24-25 Group of 20 summit in Pittsburgh said exporters, which include China, Germany and Japan, should consume more, while debtors like the United States ought to boost savings. "The world will face anemic growth if adjustments in one part of the global economy are not...

Statement of Andy Stern, President of SEIU WASHINGTON DC--Andy Stern, President of the Service Employees International Union, issued the following statement today regarding recent attempts of right wing extremists to silence working families by attacking progressive individuals and community organizations: "This is a moment of profound change for this country--from kitchen tables to town halls to the floor of the Senate, this nation is engaged in a vigorous and heated debate about how we rebuild our economy, solve our national healthcare crisis and restore the American Dream. "As has always happened when progressive change is in the air, the backlash...

The Democratic National Committee said Mitt Romney's appearance on Fox News Channel this morning was "vintage Romney" -- and it didn't mean it in a nice way. . . . . . But the DNC asserted that Romney supported a similar Northeast regional cap-and-trade system -- limiting carbon emissions and creating a market for pollution credits -- as governor. . . . . . The DNC, however, failed to acknowledge that while Romney initially supported the Northeast plan, called the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, he backed out in December 2005, citing concerns over the cost to consumers. . . ....

Strangers to dissent, liberals try to stifle it By: Michael Barone Senior Political AnalystSeptember 20, 2009 It is an interesting phenomenon that the response of the left half of our political spectrum to criticism and argument is often to try to shut it down. Thus President Obama in his Sept. 9 speech to a joint session of Congress told us to stop "bickering," as if principled objections to major changes in public policy were just childish obstinacy, and chastised his critics for telling "lies," employing "scare tactics" and playing "games." Unlike his predecessor, he sought to use the prestige of...

Richard Fernandez makes the compelling case that the root of the conflict we see developing in this country is caused by a struggle for wealth and power. The most salient feature of the Obama administration is its concentration of the national wealth and power in this country into Washington, and more specifically in the hands of the President. Why was this unrest we see today not manifest during the Bush administration? The auto companies were run by private entities out of Detroit, the financial institutions were run by private entities out of New York, and people’s individual wealth was found...

For one of Big Labor’s most notorious organizing partners, ACORN, the “chickens have come home to roost” thanks to the James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles continuously unfolding ACORN exposé. If you rely on MSNBC for your news, you may not have noticed ACORN’s very thin “community organizer” veneer being sanded away exposing the rotten termite-infested wood underneath. Part of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now’s (ACORN) rotten core includes a very cozy relationship with Big Labor. In fact, in many instances ACORN and Big Labor are one and the same. In 2008, Big Labor funneled ACORN millions of...

To lie is a sin. Christ said this about the devil: he is a liar and the father of them. Today our Republic is under siege by those of a different spirit. We have been lied to by corrupt politicians, socialists, too-big-to-fail bankers, Wall Street fat cats and others that hate our country, culture, Constitution, liberty, free market capitalism, family, and, most of all, our God. These lying supplanters desire a new America, one of their own making – and they will stop at nothing until the America framed by our Founding Fathers is completely destroyed. “We must be ready...

Some unprecedented news today, folks. Never in the history of the United Nations has a U.S. President taken the chairmanship of the powerful UN Security Council. Perhaps it is because of what could arguably be a Constitutional prohibition against doing so. To wit: Section 9 of the Constitution says:

Across the country, motorists are being greeted by signs advertising President Obama's $787 billion stimulus bill, and Republicans aren't happy about it. The large green-and-white highway signs declare, "Project Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act." Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H describes them as the "signs to nowhere" and tried in vain Wednesday to stop the advertising. Democrats were nearly unanimous in voting to defeat an amendment by Greg that would have prohibited the use of stimulus funds for signs that advertise taxpayer spending on stimulus projects. Only five Democrats crossed the aisle in the 45-52 vote, joining all 40...

The Hill: Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it's not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views. "I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers."

Just when you thought Jimmy Carter could not disgrace the office he once held any further, he goes out and tops himself. The former president avers that "an overwhelming proportion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, he's African-American," Carter, 84, told NBC television. "I live in the South, and I have seen the South come a long way," Carter added. "But that racism inclination still exists, and I think it has bubbled up to the surface because of a belief among many white people, not just...
