  • The Failure of American Leadership

The standard critique of President Obama’s foreign policy is now generally well-known—mercurial, paradoxical, and passive. “Leading from behind” seems at odds with the traditional American commitment to ensure—preferably with allies or, if need be, alone—the continuance of the postwar global system of sovereign borders, free trade, safe commerce, and open communications. Many of Obama’s recent foreign policy initiatives have resulted in a diminished United States and they have found little success. The reset with Russia earned us a strange sort of contempt from Vladimir Putin. Moscow almost gratuitously thwarts the U.S., gloating that we offer loud self-righteous sermons to others...
  • The Crazy Fool From the Attic Turned Vice President Race Baits

In fairness to Vice President Biden, I supposed I should have a full post for our collective crazy uncle in the attic turned Vice President. The man from Delaware claimed that Republicans want to put people back in chains. Considering there is only one group of people ever put in chains in this country, it is clear he was race baiting. I have no doubt this was orchestrated by the Obama campaign, which immediately is again screaming that the old fool was taken out of context. It is remarkable that the party that thinks “states rights” is racist code thinks...

April 27, 2012 Mark Your Calendars: 3 Years Without a Senate Budget! Bridget Johnson Sunday marks the third anniversary since the last time Senate Democrats proposed and passed a budget. Senate Republicans aren’t exactly celebrating, but want to make sure the milestone doesn’t go unnoticed. “The last time Senate Democrats passed a budget, a gallon of gas cost about half what it does now, the debt was $4.5 trillion dollars less than it is today, and ObamaCare was just a twinkle in the president’s eye,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas). “Their lack of leadership has led to a national debt...
  • John Boehner struggles to keep up with base

Minority Leader John Boehner spent much of last week trying to persuade a stubborn Rep. Joe Wilson to apologize to the House — telling associates he needed to “get to” Wilson before the weekend to elicit an apology. But as the days dragged on, Boehner had to back off: Wilson’s spine was stiffened by $1.5 million in campaign contributions, the Democrats’ anti-Wilson rhetoric had become increasingly extreme, and the South Carolina Republican was rapidly accumulating support from the conference’s dominant right wing. “At some point, he realized he had no choice but to get behind Wilson because that’s where his...

House Republicans picked John Boehner Friday to serve as minority leader when Democrats take control of Congress for the first time in 12 years in January. Boehner defeated Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana in a closed-door election among colleagues. The Ohio winner was expected to speak after elections for other leadership positions concluded. Boehner received 168 votes, Pence 27 and Rep. Joe Barton of Texas won 1 vote.

If the admin moderator needs to move this to a different section because this is my opinion, not a real editorial, that's fine. I just wanted to express my frustration at the failed leadership of Maryland's and also Virginia's Governors. They are hiding, it appears, instead of protecting the citizenry. I hope that the citizenry is contacting their elected officials, candidates and the President regarding the stalled Homeland Security Bill; basically, raising the roof on this matter. FAILED LEADERSHIP OF THE GOVERNORS SHOULD NOT GO UNCHALLENGED - especially when we are talking about THE WORST CRIME SPREE in my memory....
