A new wave of suicide bombings hit outside a church in a Lebanese village on Monday evening as residents were preparing for the funerals of victims of a multiple suicide attacks earlier in the day, security sources said. In the latest violence, the suicide bombers riding motorcycles blew themselves up in the centre of the predominantly Christian village of Al-Qaa in eastern Lebanon, the source told AFP. One struck in front of a church and the two others in front of the municipality building. Medical sources quoted by Reuters said at least 15 people had been wounded in the attack.

KOIN reports the woman shot the man, a stranger, with her personal handgun after a confrontation. Police tell the station the woman and her children are victims in the situation. Vermont Watchdog ^ | June 27, 2016 | By Bruce Parker
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Epidemiologists at the Vermont Department of Health are concealing the number of refugees with contagious active tuberculosis nearly a month after Watchdog reported that more than one-third of Vermont’s resettled refugees test positive for TB. Earlier this month, Watchdog revealed that 35 percent of Vermont’s incoming refugees in the past four years tested positive for tuberculosis. How many of those cases are contagious and symptomatic, however, remains a secret, as state epidemiologists and top officials at the Health Department have spent weeks blocking efforts to obtain the data. Refugees brought to the United States take TB tests...

Donald Trump is beefing up his digital strategy as he enters the general election campaign against Hillary Clinton. The presumptive Republican nominee has rolled out a website highlighting what he says are lies told by Clinton and, for the first time, is emailing fundraising pitches to supporters, one of the key elements of a national campaign. “I think the early signs we’ve seen, from them activating a small dollar online plan coupled with the rollout of the microsite, tells me that the Donald Trump campaign is getting its footing,” said Michael Duncan, a partner at Cavalry, LLC, a political consultancy,...
  • Islam is the problem. (Boris Johnson - likely new leader of Brexit Britain)

    The spectator ^ | 16 July 2005 | BORIS JOHNSON
We — non-Muslims — cannot solve the problem; we cannot brainwash them out of their fundamentalist beliefs. The Islamicists last week horribly and irrefutably asserted the supreme importance of that faith, overriding all worldly considerations, and it will take a huge effort of courage and skill to win round the many thousands of British Muslims who are in a similar state of alienation, and to make them see that their faith must be compatible with British values and with loyalty to Britain. That means disposing of the first taboo, and accepting that the problem is Islam. Islam is the problem....

I believe that millions of people who voted Leave were also inspired by the belief that Britain is a great country, and that outside the job-destroying coils of EU bureaucracy we can survive and thrive as never before. I think that they are right in their analysis, and right in their choice. And yet we who agreed with this majority verdict must accept that it was not entirely overwhelming. There were more than 16 million who wanted to remain. They are our neighbours, brothers and sisters who did what they passionately believe was right. In a democracy majorities may decide...
  • Carry on trading, beg German car bosses (Brexit)

Daily Mail ^ | 01:13 GMT, 27 June 2016 | By John Stevens, Europe Correspondent For The Daily Mail
German manufacturers last night demanded that Britain be allowed to continue trading with the EU without any barriers. The car-making industry said punishing Britain makes no sense – and it called on the German chancellor to give the UK a favourable trade deal. Eurosceptics have repeatedly argued it is not in the EU’s interests to bring in tariffs as the UK imports more from Europe than it exports, and any weakening of the British economy would also have a ripple effect on Europe. Matthias Wissmann, of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), said: ‘Even if many “experts” are...
  • Supreme Court set to rule on abortion clinic restrictions

Fox News ^ | June 26, 2016 | Supreme Court set to rule on abortion clinic restrictions
The Supreme Court on Monday is poised to once again enter the fray on the abortion issue, an already divisive subject complicated by election-year politics and a split bench that may lack the votes to rule definitively. The high court will wrap up its work for the summer by issuing a judgment on how far Texas can go to regulate abortion clinics in the state, and whether those provisions have the effect of limiting first-trimester abortions guaranteed by the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling. Texas reproductive clinics are asking the justices to keep their facilities open in the face of...

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (Reuters) - Pope Francis said on Sunday that Christians and the Roman Catholic Church should seek forgiveness from homosexuals for the way they had treated them. Speaking to reporters aboard the plane taking him back to Rome from Armenia, he also said the Church should ask forgiveness for the way it has treated women, for turning a blind eye to child labor and for "blessing so many weapons" in the past. In the hour-long freewheeling conversation that has become a trademark of his international travels, Francis was asked if he agreed with recent comments by...

....Wallace said Hillary did not go home and sleep during the Benghazi attack – parroting what the rest of the media has been reporting this week. The fact is Hillary Clinton DID GO HOME AND SLEEP during the Benghazi attacks and there are records to prove it. According to official watch logs on September 11, 2012 during the Benghazi attack on the US consulate the first note of the attacks (not protest, another Hillary lie) was posted after 4 PM on that Tuesday afternoon. And Hillary Clinton was home by 10:30 PM as US forces continued to come under attack...

Watch any of the TV news talk shows Friday and almost all have ignored one important fact: the Brexit 'Leave' victory was another humiliating loss for President Barack Obama. In fact, some British polls even showed that voter sentiment moved decidedly in favor of Brexit after Obama traveled to Britain and urged a "no" vote. British voters delivered a stinging rebuke to Obama on Thursday when they opted to leave the EU by a 52 percent to 48 percent margin. So strong was the backlash to Obama's blatant attempt to influence the Brexit vote – polls following his April visit...

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas attempted to walk back controversial statements made during a recent address to the European Union parliament in Brussels, claiming on Saturday that he opposed "any attack on any religion", after having accused Israel of “poisoning Palestinian wells”. "Palestine is the cradle of the three monotheistic faiths. We stand strongly against any attack on any religion," Abbas said in a statement. The tacit acknowledgement of Judaism's roots in the Land of Israel, comes in stark contrast to Palestinian Authority propaganda which has for decades attempted to diminish the Jewish people's ancient history in Israel. In apparently...

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he agrees that delegates to the Republican national convention should be free to vote their conscience, even if that means not supporting presumptive nominee Donald Trump. Walker is a former presidential candidate and a delegate to the convention next month. He told reporters following a groundbreaking at a sausage factory that he will follow Wisconsin Republican Party rules and cast his ballot for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the first round because Cruz won the state primary.

Costa Rican Security Minister Gustavo Mata announced that Saatio will be extradited Saturday when authorities will put him on a commercial flight out of Juan Santamaría International Airport accompanied by U.S. Marshals. The 35-year-old fugitive from Michigan was initially aprehended by police in the popular...
