Sarah Palin's abrupt decision to step down as governor of Alaska has left many people on both sides of the aisle scratching their heads. Palin has successfully survived fifteen ethics complaints. Her Lt. Governor, Sean Parnell who will succeed her at the end of this month, said Sunday that "she has plenty of time now within which to define how she will further her core values." Her announcement leaves open the possibility that she will run for higher office. Some on the right, such as William Kristol of the Weekly Standard, have said her move was 'crazy like a fox',...

CAIRO -- The most important group of religious leaders in Iran called the disputed presidential election and the new government illegitimate on Saturday, an act of defiance against the country’s supreme leader and the most public sign of a major split in the country’s clerical establishment.

What happened to Sarah Palin is a political game changer on the national level. It also may be a preview of what every American may face in a few years. The 18 ethics charges filed since she rose to prominence in Republican circles might be the first time the left has successfully used the Cloward-Piven Strategy to stop an individual politician on the national level. For those who do not know, the strategy was developed in the late 1960s by two sociologists at Columbia. In a nutshell it seeks to "hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy...

Just like here in America, rigged elections mean nothing to President Obama, nor does the silencing of opposition supporters. Obama's actions in regards to Iran clearly show that he supports the Islamic maniac Mullahs.

In yesterday's threads, I was clearly overzealous in my criticisms of Ms. Palin After spending the morning with a bunch of lefty's here in DC, I realize that someone like myself is just playing their game. While I do not think Ms. Palin should be our nominee in 2012, I will support her from these vicious leftist attacks, which are over the line and unethical. I do understand why she is stepping down, in particular with the costs of the ethic cases, even though I wish she would not step down. And even though I don't see her as a...

Ever notice? When she’s angry, she starts talking a little faster, her eyes lids narrow a tad, and she talks through lips that are a bit closer together – and that faint frown of hers becomes almost permanent, yet a smile remains. She displayed all of those signs today. She didn’t say it in so many words, but if I don’t miss my bet, Sarah Palin just declared all-out war on the left – and believe me, she can wage that war like no other – as has been well demonstrated. No, she’s not about to run off into seclusion...

Reporting from Cairo and Beirut -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can in one instant appear the diplomatic equivalent of damaged goods and in the next a confident leader whose bellicose speeches leave the West wondering how to deal with him and his perplexing nation now that he's won a much-disputed reelection.

Most Republicans have just finished what might be called the spring of their discontent. Not much went right in the first half of the year; not much to cheer about. But not Mitt Romney. For this unsuccessful 2008 Republican presidential contender, it is hard to imagine how events could be moving more decisively in his favor in 2009. One can almost hear him wondering: Why didn't things break this way last year? Let us count the ways that the world has conspired to help Mr. Romney. At a time when the Republican Party is straining to find new leaders, other...

Hundreds, probably thousands, have been arrested in Iran since the presidential election on 12 June. Human rights and campaign groups such as Human Rights Watch, the Campaign for Human Rights in Iran and Reporters Without Borders have been collecting and publishing the names of those dead or detained. We have brought those lists, and reports from trusted media sources, into a database that we are asking readers and those elsewhere on the internet to contribute too.

The main characteristic of the so called W shaped economic is that the economy shows signs of recovery for a while and then suddenly begins to pull back. This can happen over and over. As such, words like choppy, stop start, and uneven are often used during a W shaped recovery. That's exactly the language used by George Soros earlier this week.

Cabinet secretaries will fan out this summer to hear concerns and possibly sway some more-conservative voters. Reporting from Washington -- The White House bills it as a "listening tour," a chance for President Obama's Cabinet to get out of Washington and hear what's on the minds of rural voters around the country. En route, the White House is making sure it reaches voters in crucial swing districts. The itinerary laid out by the White House for its just-announced "Rural Tour" includes several politically competitive districts, which would give the Obama administration a chance to make its case to people who...

The Minnesota Supreme Court yesterday declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of last year's disputed Senate race, and Republican incumbent Norm Coleman's gracious concession at least spares the state any further legal combat. The unfortunate lesson is that you don't need to win the vote on Election Day as long as your lawyers are creative enough to have enough new or disqualified ballots counted after the fact. Mr. Franken trailed Mr. Coleman by 725 votes after the initial count on election night, and 215 after the first canvass. The Democrat's strategy from the start was to manipulate the recount in...

There was a comment posted on this YouTube video by a user, which caught my attention: "...if I had one to choose over the other, I would now choose Bush, however I voted for Obama and now I am sorry that I did. He is trying to control too much. I haven't benefited from anything since he has been in office, have you?" It looks like people are finally waking up! I think the 2010 and 2012 elections are looking very bright!

Less than one week ago an Iranian cleric stated that he believed that some of the post election protesters should be executed. Unfortunately this procedure has begun. Six Mousavi supporters reportedly hanged in Iran ( Jul 01 2009 ) Jerusalem, July 1 (ANI): Six supporters of defeated Iran’s presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi have reportedly been hanged after the authorities warned the opposition that they would tolerate no further protests over the disputed June 12 presidential elections.

A district judge who held another ACORN worker for trial Monday on election law violations urged prosecutors to go after the real culprit, the organization that employed him. "Somebody has to go after ACORN," Senior District Judge Richard H. Zoller said about the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. "It's happening all over the country. All you have to do is turn on the television," he said, referring to voter registration fraud charges brought recently against ACORN and its workers in Nevada. "We will," Allegheny County Detective Robert F. Keenan promised as he wrapped up his testimony. A spokesman...

‘Meet John Doe’ and the Old Fakearoo Posted By Michael McGruther On June 30, 2009 @ 11:10 am In Classic Hollywood | No Comments Dear Reader, Do you have a little time to sit back and examine a classic movie that will absolutely shock you when seen through the prism of now? This is not my typical short article or essay. This is my own argument that what occurs in the 1941 picture “Meet John Doe” is exactly what has come to pass in America today with the Democratic Congress and their Presidential puppet. All the players and plays...

There’s been an awful lot of apologizing for the United States of America here lately. (see videos) And in that same spirit America would like to do some apologizing of her own. First as the model for Democracy in the world we would like to apologize for the corrupt banana republic like 2008 Presidential elections that allowed a U.S. Constitutionally ineligible person to run and subsequently win the presidency of the United States of America. Barack Hussein Obama has run for and won the Presidency of the United States of American while at the same time spending over 1million dollars,...

Iran has arrested eight local British embassy staff, triggering London's fury and further exacerbating tensions with the West over the post-election turmoil in the Islamic republic. The latest backlash against what Iranian leaders have branded as foreign "meddling" came as opposition leaders continued to defy the regime, rejecting a panel set up to hold a partial recount in the hotly-disputed presidential vote.

Iran has detained several local British embassy staff, sparking a new row with Britain on Sunday that underscored the hardline leadership's effort to blame post-election unrest on foreign powers, not popular anger. A Gallup poll last week showed that far more Americans describe themselves as "conservatives" than as "liberals." Yet Republicans have been clobbered by the Democrats in both the 2008 elections and the 2006 elections. In a country with more conservatives than liberals, it is puzzling-- in fact, amazing-- that we have the furthest left President of the United States in history, as well as the furthest left Speaker of the House of Representatives...

The power struggle inside Iran appears to be moving from the streets into the heart of the regime itself this weekend amid reports that Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani is plotting to undermine the power of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Rafsanjani's manoeuvres against Khamenei come as tensions between the speaker of the parliament, Ali Larijani, and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also appeared to be coming to a head.

Congressman Mark Kirk was an up and comer in the state of Illinois. He represents the well to do area of the North Shore of Chicago. (for full disclosure he's the rep to my parents) In 2008, Kirk, while targeted by Democrats, won fairly easily in his re election campaign. He's been on the short list as potential GOP candidates for both the U.S. Senate campaign and even the Governorship. All that talk may have ended yesterday when Kirk crossed the line and voted in favor of cap and trade. He has now done something sacreligious in Republican circles.

Dear Friends, I am starting up a Political Action Committee for the 2010 Congressional Elections (though I also may support/oppose state and local candidates as well)! I have Contacted the FEC (as well as..) the IRS. I have a big packet of information from the FEC in which I am currently reading (and though it is interesting-to me..)..(ok so I am a 'nerd'..a political 'junkie' to be specific..). I am humbly asking for your advice if anyone has ever attempted this and is connected to this webite or just a general fellow citizen)? What were some 'pitfalls', 'successes', 'tips', etc.....

"A Himalayan Mountain of contradictory evidence" CAMDEN, N.J. – Despite Attorney Mario Apuzzo’s objection to additional time being granted for defendants to respond to the complaint filed on behalf of Charles F. Kerchner questioning President Barack Hussein Obama’s eligibility, U.S. District Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider, for the District of New Jersey, granted an extension until no later than June 29. However, while Schneider noted the defendants’ failure to respond in a timely manner was not caused by neglect, he also stated, “Plaintiffs’ complaint raises significant issues necessitating that the named defendants engage competent counsel to represent their interests. Given the...

Hardcore Islamic cleric Ahmad Khatami is calling for the Iranian protesters to be executed. Unfortunately under Islamic law what he wants is legal. As Koran verse 5 32 allows for the death of anyone who is "spreading mischief in the land". Mischief can obviously be anything that they say it is.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate purported wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying the "powers that be" put the kibosh on the idea. Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket. "The powers that be decided against it," Mr. Conyers told The Washington Times Wednesday. The chairman declined to elaborate, shrugging off questions about who told him how to run his committee...

Let me just say it before a commentator on Fox does: This whole Mark Sanford mess is a Barack Obama conspiracy. The sad spectacle of Mr. Sanford's teary confessional is designed, at least in some part, to make the President look even better by comparison than he already does. You think it was a coincidence that as the Governor was into the meat of his dishonor, the CNN scroll noted that President Obama was going to the Vatican to meet with the Pope? I have my own views about the Obama press machinery and resultant seduction quotient. But this latest...

The Merriam-Webster definition of "common sense" is pretty straightforward: "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts." The phrase originated in 1726 — 50 years before Thomas Paine penned his pamphlet, "Common Sense," and gave voice to the rising sentiments of American colonists before the Revolutionary War. Glenn Beck, Fox News commentator and host of a talk show on TV and radio, thought perhaps it was time for America to have a little more Paine — which is why he penned a 21st century version of the "Common Sense" pamphlet.

While the post-election protests and beatings continue in Iran, the reality for now is that both camps, the hardliners and the reformers have one main thing in common. They are both are committed to Islam. Under the Islamic umbrella: Hardliners and reformers both want to keep Iran a theocracy BY SANAM VAKIL Thursday, June 25th 2009 Nearing the two-week mark, Iran's postelection drama continues to unfold as the government seeks to restore national stability in the wake of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed victory. A standoff continues between the main political factions: hard-line conservatives against reformists.

Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on President Obama on Thursday not to interfere in Iranian affairs after the U.S. president said he was "appalled and outraged" by post-election violence, a news agency reported. "Mr. Obama made a mistake to say those things ... our question is why he fell into this trap and said things that previously (former U.S. President George W.) Bush used to say," the semi-official Fars News Agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio is in the midst of a publicity bonanza from his weekend Twitter message that the situation in Iran would be different if that country had a Second Amendment akin to that in the U.S. Constitution. The implication, of course, was that if the masses had guns, the government wouldn’t be able to run roughshod over them – exactly the kind of message that appeals to the conservative base of the Republican Party that he needs to mobilize in his primary contest with Gov. Charlie Crist for the 2010 Senate nomination. The biggest bonus so far:...

When Internet Powerhouse Andy Martin wrote his first column on Barack Obama’s family history and birth certificate, Andy had no idea he was creating an “industry” that would pursue Obama’s records to the ends of the earth. Although Obama’s mouthpiece Robert Gibbs says the BC has been released (Gibbs lies) and Fox News’ Shepard Smith has insulted people who question Obama’s missing records, Andy’s Army continues to battle Obama & Company to find the facts and tell the truth about Obama’s hidden “roots.” (Includes article by Andy Martin.... read on)

For the first time since their 2006 election drubbing, top Republicans see signs — however faint — of a political resurgence over the next year. At first blush, this sounds absurd. After all, polls show the GOP more unpopular than ever, and the John Ensign sex scandal serves as a vivid, real-time reminder of why many see the party as a collection of hypocrites. But several trends suggest this optimism might not be as far-fetched as it seems. Polls show that the GOP is wise to focus most of its attacks on spending, government intervention and job losses. (Those same...

I always love it when politicians start talking about "the American people" believing this or that, as if we all do and they know it. Years ago, we nicknamed my friend Francie's mother "The Nation" because she was so fond of speaking for it. Truth is, Americans do agree on a lot of fundamentals. But because we do, nobody asks about those. "The American people" generally means that at least 40 percent of the people disagree with you.....

Analysis: Iran at the Tipping Point by Ilana Freedman Iran has reached a point of no return. The increasingly violent demonstrations in the streets of Iran’s cities are growing larger and louder as Iranians continue to protest the results of a well-orchestrated, fraudulent national election. The outcome of the June 12th elections was determined long before the Iranian people went to the ballot boxes. Although the final results of the election were not supposed to be announced until Monday, June 15, Ahmadinejad preempted the announcement on the 13th, declaring himself the winner. This was despite the fact that the counting...

Even though dozens of his supporters have been murdered and beaten, Mr. Mousavi has come out with a statement of support for the brutal Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, or as Western media likes to call them the Revolutionary Guard. Signs Mousavi's rebel stature being eroded in Iran CAIRO – Mir Hossein Mousavi is still nominally the guiding force of the fury over Iran's disputed election. But there are ample signs his rebel stature is being eroded by his hesitation to shift from campaigner to street agitator as his supporters challenge security forces.

Government authorities stepped up their crackdown on protesters Monday, as officials for the first time acknowledged evidence of voting irregularities in this month's presidential election, the issue that has sparked the largest street demonstrations since the Islamic Republic was established three decades ago. An initial probe into the June 12 presidential election has shown that the number of ballots cast exceeded the number of registered voters in 50 locales, a discrepancy affecting 3 million votes or more, according to the spokesman for the Guardian Council, a body of jurists and clerics in charge of safeguarding the country's constitution The council...

First of all, I know it looks impossible to even say, so let’s clear up that last name. It’s pronounced An-gee-ef-ski. I know, I know, that means here in Illinois we could possibly go from a Governor Blagojevich to an Andrzejewski. But the difficult last name should stand as the only similarity between the two men, for Adam seems to have some ideas on how Illinois might get out of its fiscal nightmare. I interviewed him not long ago and he had some very interesting thoughts on how to fix Illinois. (adamforillinois.com/) In fact, Andrzejewski has already made some headway...

Surprisingly the National Rifle Association (NRA) may be the cause of this problem. A new Government Accountability Office report provides us with the startling news that an FBI investigation proved 865 of 963 or 90% of those listed on the Homeland Security “Terrorist Watch List” had no trouble legally purchasing guns and even explosives! Felons, illegal aliens and drug addicts can’t buy guns or explosives presumably because they are a danger to our safety, yet those on the “Terrorist Watch List”, and thereby deemed extremely dangerous, are having little trouble legally buy weapons to kill us with. Currently there is...

The fundraiser set to be hosted Wednesday by elected officials and business leaders at the posh Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables sounds like countless other receptions benefiting Florida's political establishment. But the invitation topped with bold-faced names is for Marco Rubio, the upstart candidate for the U.S. Senate daring to challenge the popular Gov. Charlie Crist for the GOP nomination. Rubio has been mostly raising money over the Internet. Crist has been attending swanky events almost nightly this month. Their lopsided fundraising battle and poll ratings suggest Rubio's campaign will not end well, but the former Miami lawmaker posted a...

10 Reasons Why Obama Will be a One-Term President 1. Barack Obama won in part because of the amount of people he inspired with the campaign slogans: "Hope and Change" and "Yes We Can." He won't be able to use these slogans in 2012, unless he starts rooting for the opposition. 2. Over saturation. The problem with electing a Celebrity President is that people get tired of celebrities after a while. The news has become the new Entertainment Weekly, with anchors reporting on the latest Obama gossip. 3. The history factor will be gone. Part of the allure of voting...

California voters said no, but Democratic lawmakers are pushing to do it anyhow. The issue involves billions of dollars and a ballot measure so important to schools that the California Teachers Association spent more than $7 million in a failed attempt to pass Proposition 1B. One month after the initiative died, Democrats are proposing to pay schools the same $7.9 billion that was the heart of the measure and to begin payments the same year, 2011-2012. snip- The dispute over $7.9 billion stems from complex provisions of Proposition 98, approved by voters more than two decades ago to ensure a...

CNN on Saturday night reported that at least 19 people had died as a result of gunfire from government forces during the demonstrations in Teheran, Shiraz and Isfehan. The news network based the report on eyewitness accounts of medical officials in Teheran's hospitals. CNN also quoted unconfirmed reports that put the actual death toll at 150. A week of massive street protests over the results of Iran's presidential elections escalated into open defiance of the entire regime on Saturday, when thousands took to the streets of Teheran chanting "Death to the Dictatorship." Ignoring the Friday warning by Iran's Supreme Leader...

WE look over this wall of marching people to see what our friends in the United States are saying about us. We cannot help it — 30 years of struggle against the Enemy has had the curious effect of making us intrigued. To our great dismay, what we find is that in important sectors of the American press a disturbing counter narrative is emerging: That perhaps this election wasn’t a fraud after all. That the United States shouldn’t rush in with complaints of democracy denied, and that perhaps Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the president the Iranian people truly want (and, by...

There is nothing the MSM loves more, than describing hardline Islamic fundamentalists as "conservatives". Ayatollah Khamenei and Ahamadinejad are often referred to as "conservatives" or "ultra-conservatives". Clay Waters shows the bias in the New York Times in this regard: http://www.timeswatch.org/articles/2009/20090615153200.aspx Simply because the Mullahs are religious, oppose gay rights, and believe in spending more on defence (nukes), does not make them "conservative" in the Western sense. The Iranian regime is a religious socialist regime, that believes in a big government theocratic system. It has no regard for individual rights and free speech, major pillars of Western-style conservatism.
