Peace. Trump said this week that if he hadn’t been elected, the U.S. would be at war with North Korea. That’s a stretch, but he has demonstrated repeatedly that he is not eager to use America’s military overseas. Prosperity. The single most reliable indicator of whether an incumbent president will be reelected is whether the economy is doing well. Under Trump, the economy is going gangbusters—in fact, better than most economists predicted was even possible. With unemployment at record lows and the stock market at record highs, there isn’t even a hint of inflation. Trump stimulated an economy Sovereignty. If...

11/21/16 Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon contacted Tulsi Gabbard to arrange Monday’s meeting with the president-elect...Many in the media raised their eyebrows when the news broke that Trump was meeting at Trump Tower Monday morning with Hawaii’s Democratic congresswoman. But for those who know Bannon best, there was no surprise at all. Bannon, who hates the entrenched two-party system, has long admired Gabbard. She’s an Iraq War veteran with an independent streak. Bannon, a navy veteran, was drawn to her when she began publicly excoriating the Obama administration over its plan to defeat ISIS. “He loves Tulsi Gabbard. Loves...

WASHINGTON - Tulsi Gabbard is willing to go out on a limb. The Democratic U.S. congresswoman from Hawaii was one of the first Democrats to support Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, and now she is one of the first Democrats to meet with President-elect Donald Trump. Gabbard met with Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence on Monday morning, but Trump spokesman Jason Miller said it was “premature” to discuss Gabbard’s potential role in the Trump administration.

It's not all that surprising that, in the wake of Rick Perry's much-maligned anti-gay ad the other day, the gay conservative group GOPRoud ended up at the center of the ensuing media storm, fielding requests from reporters left and right. Except it seems that the group's director and chairman (inadvertently, they claim) created a gay-bashing brouhaha of their own by letting slip the true sexual orientation of Tony Fabrizio, a top strategist on the governor's presidential campaign. In an e-mail to the rest of the board — acquired by the Daily Caller — GOProud leaders Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSavlia...

Presidential candidate Donald Trump is now taking on one-time Obama "car czar" Steve Rattner. On Monday, Trump fired off a tweet telling Rattner: "I think you should have gone to prison for what you did, I guess Obama saved you." He ended the tweet telling Rattner to watch: "I will win!" It was unclear what activity Trump was referring to that should have landed Rattner in jail. Trump did not respond to CNNMoney's request for comment. In 2010, Rattner did pay $10 million in fines when he settled with the New York state attorney general for his alleged involvement in a...

33% of likely voters say President Trump has made life better for African Americans. When Obama left office in 2099 only 13% of likely voters said he made life better for African Americans. This is not the first time Trump has seen his numbers climb among African Americans. A VoterLabs poll in May found that 29% of female African Americans approve of President’s Trump.

It wasn’t twenty years ago today, as the Beatles once sang – only four, to be exact (though at times, it feels like two decades). And while Donald Trump isn’t Sgt. Pepper, he has succeeded in making American march to a different beat. It was four years ago on this date that Trump did the improbable – he descended down a Trump Tower escalator and leapt into a busy Republican primary field. Some of us who follow these things for a living refused to take him seriously at the time. That includes yours truly. I thought Trump was trying to...

WASHINGTON — With their playbook for pushing government boundaries as a guide, some Silicon Valley investors are nudging election officials toward an innovation that prominent coders and cryptographers warn is downright dangerous for democracy. Voting by phone could be coming soon to an election near you. As seasoned disruptors of the status quo, tech pioneers have proven persuasive in selling the idea, even as the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine specifically warn against any such experiment. The fight over mobile voting pits technologists who warn about the risks of entrusting voting to apps and cellphones against others who...

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney says the nation has to unite behind Donald Trump and make him the next commander in chief. Liz Cheney, who is running for Wyoming's at-large seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, told Rush Limbaugh's syndicated radio show on Friday: "In Wyoming there's no question for us that Hillary Clinton would be devastating — and far, far worse than Donald Trump. We've gotta unify behind him and make sure Hillary Clinton's not elected. "She is a felon. She … clearly violated the law with respect to her personal server and her...

Did the Democrats pick the wrong electoral cycle to jump their particular abortion-cheering, fetus-destroying, and sensibility-unsettling shark? For a certain kind of Republican voter, who has problems with Donald Trump’s temperament and with the programmatic agenda of the national Democrats, the decision to vote”‘no” on the Democrats and on their agenda just got a whole lot easier. What 2016 proved is that people will vote for someone they don’t like if the opposition is made to seem even less attractive. That’s precisely what the Left’s new approach to abortion is likely to do. In 2016, Will says, ”[Democrats] produced a...

"A libertarian interpretation” of the First Amendment is responsible for more “violent hate crime” in the United States than terrorism, a former Federal Election Commission chair claimed Thursday. “The libertarian interpretation of the 1st Amendment has permitted a huge spike in violent hate crimes in the US – many more than foreign attacks,” former FEC Chair Ann Ravel wrote on Twitter. el linked to a story noting a statistic from the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League, which found that 78% of the 50 U.S. murders related to extremism in 2018 were carried out by white supremacists. The story also noted the FBI...

In an interview with The New York Times on Friday, Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio said there was an intrusion and that hackers were “in a position” to change voter roll data but said that it does not appear they did. Rubio, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told the Times, “My biggest concern is that on Election Day you go vote and have mass confusion because voter registration information has been deleted from the systems.” “I don’t believe the specific victims of the intrusion have been notified,” Rubio said. “The concern was that in a number of counties...

American voters were concerned about an economic downturn in a Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service poll that found 58 percent of voters approve of the president’s performance when it comes to the economy. Registered and likely 2020 voters from both sides of the Republican-Democrat aisle were surveyed in the “Battleground Poll” from March 31-April 4 that reached 1,000, according to NBC News. Of those, 59 percent expressed concern about the possibility of an economic decline. However, 58 percent approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing when it comes to the economy. The report noted that the...

[Big Snip] Democrats push back on Barr's allegation of "spying" Some Democrats criticized Barr's assertion that there was "spying" on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. "Mr. Barr knows how counter-intel investigations work. He knows there was ample evidence of Russian attempts to infiltrate the Trump campaign and that the FBI took lawful action to stop it. Giving a wink and a nod to this long-debunked "spying" conspiracy theory is irresponsible," Senate Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Mark Warner wrote on Twitter. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said that Barr's words were motivated by political bias. "This type of...

Along with the story, Clinton insisted that “The white nationalists certainly believe ‘MAGA’ is a white nationalist slogan.”
