What liberty are they stealing? You have to show proper ID to write a check, open a bank account, get gov’t services, enroll your kid in school, apply for a job, get a loan, join little league, fly an airplane, rent a car, join the army, go to college, cross the border, set foot onto most large companies’ property, get a library card, etc etc.

    Should this all be abolished?

It’s hard for me to imagine anything more un-American than the idea of having to get permission from some bureaucrat to work. Have we sunk THAT low?

Just because the politicians have created this problem, don’t use it as an excuse to steal my liberty. The very thought should make any red-blooded Americans extremely angry.

It reminds me of those who want to strip away our right to keep and bear arms because they’ve created a bunch of deranged psychopaths and refuse to lock them up.

There are thousands if not millions of legit green card holders. And millions of illegals with fake green cards, fake licenses, fake birth certificates (hell, we have an illegal alien as faux president)etc. It is simply unacceptable to not weed them out. And by ‘not weeding them out’ we have given them every damn incentive to continue coming in.

In the pursuit of illegals, don't ask for my liberty in order to get them.

I'm all ears for a better way to verify legitimacy, if you got one.

We already have numerous ways to verify identity. If they won't suffice, nothing will.

Fact is, most folks know who the illegals are. That goes for the employers.

I don't even want them to have such a list, much less the power to control who does or does not work in this country.

You want illegals to be able to work here? I'm all ears for a better way to verify legitimacy, if you got one.

While I agree with the thrust of this, he loses me on this one:

    Make E-Verify mandatory

Don't strip me of my liberties because a bunch of politicians refuse to do their sworn duty to protect my country and my state from invasion.

"E-Verify" will require EVERY law-abiding American to get PERMISSION from a federal bureaucrat TO WORK.

I don't even want them to have such a list, much less the power to control who does or does not work in this country.

Secure the border. Roll up the welfare red carpet. Enforce our existing laws. Stay away from my freedom.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -- Ben Franklin

Yep. The days of giving passes to politicians for weasel word answers is over.
