Republican Pete Domenici continues to cast a long shadow over Democratic challenger Gloria Tristani in the U.S. Senate race, with two-thirds of the New Mexico voters in a new Journal poll saying they support the longtime incumbent. Pete Domenici towers over Democratic challenger Gloria Tristani in voter support as he seeks a sixth term, the first Journal poll on the general election contest found. Sixty-six percent of likely voters surveyed statewide last week said they supported Domenici and 23 percent said they favored Tristani.
