A 23-year-old California man has been charged with attempted arson for the May 31 firebombing of the East Valley Republican Women Federated office in La Quinta, according to reports.

A 25-year-old pregnant woman was fatally wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoon in North Philadelphia, police said. The shooting happened just before 2:35 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Berks Street. Police transported the woman, who was shot in the right side of her head, to Temple University Hospital.
