Recently, there have been some pollsters or pitchmen trading on the Sarah Palin name – taking a pulse on the Governor's favorability. None of these polls are authorized by SarahPAC or the Governor. Again, SarahPAC is not doing any telephone solicitation at this time.

From just September till now, Sarah Palin has accumulated a personal dept of over $500,000 in legal fees defending herself against fake/false/frivolous ethics charges. That’s Five Hundred Thousand Dollars. A group of Alaska liberals, with the apparent cooperation of members of the Alaska Democratic Party have been filing ethics charge after ethics charge against Sarah Palin. The aim? Not to get her impeached and booted from office, because every single one of the charges are frivolous, baseless and even fairly deranged - one was even filed in the name of a soap opera character - but something far more personal....

More than half the voter registrations turned in by ACORN canvassers during the last election were not valid, according to testimony to be presented before a House Judiciary subcommittee. The testimony is from Anita MonCrief, a former employee of an affiliate of the Association of Community Organizations. MonCrief, who was fired for improperly charging personal expenses to the ACORN affiliate, originally testified under oath as part of a request by the Republican State Committee in Pennsylvania for an injunction against ACORN. The request was denied. The FBI has been investigating the liberal community organizing group for possible voter registration fraud....

Manny Aragon was one of New Mexico's most powerful law makers and power brokers. A former Senate president, Aragon was this week convicted and given a 67 month sentence for lining his pockets and that of his co-conspiritors with millions in fraudulently billed state contracting money. While his "iconic" status is mentioned and his long standing position as a "Senate leader" is dutifully chronicled, his status as a Democrat doesn't seem to make the cut of a large portion of the stories on his sentencing. The Associated Press misses the fact in two versions of the story (here and here),...

A sitting President of the United States is "organizing a political organization loyal to him, bound by a pledge, outside the government and existing party apparatus. The historical precedents are ominous." What is so ominous about an organization? Americans, Alexis de Tocqueville famously observed, "constantly form associations.... If it is proposed to inculcate some truth or to foster some feeling by the encouragement of a great example, they form a society." Certainly, thousands of organizations seek to influence the political debate. There's Newt Gingrich's American Solutions or the left-wing People for the American Way, for instance. Political parties are another...

N.O. Demo aiming to reduce violenceBATON ROUGE -- Carrying or using firearms at public events such as block parties, New Year's Eve celebrations and Carnival parades could send the violator to jail for at least five years if the Legislature enacts a bill filed by a New Orleans lawmaker. Democratic Rep. Juan LaFonta said he has filed the bill for the session starting April 27 as a way to reduce violence at events popular to New Orleans including second-line processions at funerals and Carnival Indian parades. "We are about to kill a part of our culture," LaFonta said, referring to...

Sunday, March 15, 2009 My father recently passed away in Fort Worth. While going through his records in Richardson, where he lived, I found his voting card. I called the people at the city clerk's office to inform them that he had passed. They informed me that he couldn't have died, since he voted on Nov. 4. I asked how many years had he been voting on record, and they said without fail, he had voted for 10 consecutive years. I then informed them that he had been in a nursing home and with Alzheimer's for the past eight years....

A list of Obama's potential high-level appointees who have withdrawn from consideration - mostly for failure to pay taxes - since Obama took office in January. One of the most interesting phenomenons of the Obama administration so far is the difficulty he has had finding honest people to fill top-level positions. Every few days since he has been in office, another potential cabinet appointee is in the news for tax evasion or other financial corruption.Let's rehash the list so far.New Mexico Democratic Governor Bill Richardson, nominated for Commerce Department Secretary. He withdrew on January 4 after it emerged that he was...

CBS Evening News: Educational Nonprofit Under Fire For Transporting Politicians With Money That Could Have Gone To Students ### Educap is a multibillion-dollar student loan charity run by CEO Catherine Reynolds. As CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported Monday night, Educap is under investigation by the IRS and Congress for alleged abuse of its tax-exempt status because it charges high interest on charitable student loans, and provides lavish perks with millions in compensation for Reynolds and her husband. CBS News has obtained exclusive details of what may have been the biggest charity perk: use of Educap's $31 million luxury...

The pot has issued the kettle an ultimatum: tax dodgers beware. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who was forced to fork up $34,000 in unpaid back taxes, told the House Ways and Means Committee Tuesday that the Obama administration will be going after people who avoid and evade taxes. In prepared remarks before Congress, he said the president is intent on "tackling tax shelters and other efforts to abuse our tax laws, including international tax evasion efforts." Geithner himself never used a tax haven to avoid payment, but did neglect to pay Medicare and Social Security taxes while he was a...

Federal Union Boss Calls Limbaugh's Comments 'Unacceptable' Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union that represents more than 150,000 federal employees, joined the fight against Rush Limbaugh this morning, criticizing the radio talk show host for his recent comments on President Obama. “Rush Limbaugh had the audacity to announce on national radio, 'I hope he fails.' Imagine anyone saying that. If he fails, our country fails. That is unacceptable," she said during opening remarks at the union's annual legislative conference. NTEU spokeswoman Dina Long stressed that Kelley's comments were hers alone and that the union has many...

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's top economic officials on Tuesday vigorously defended tax hikes in the administration's $3.6 trillion budget against Republican claims that they would affect nearly all Americans. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and White House Budget Director Peter Orszag, in separate appearances on Capitol Hill, stuck to the administration line that the president's budget would benefit 95 percent of working Americans. Higher taxes for affluent Americans would not come until 2011 once "we are safely into recovery," Geithner told the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee. "I'm confident this is the right path for the country," Geithner said.

Barack Obama stated that he would halve the budget deficit by 2012. “We cannot and will not sustain deficits like these without end,” Obama said at his fiscal responsibility summit. “Today, I pledge to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office.” The Congressional Budget Office predicts the deficit would shrink to a level higher than that seen during much of the second Bush administration.

I think we all realize that our open southern border is a real problem. Illegal aliens are raping, murdering, stealing our identities and assaulting our citizenry, not to mention sucking up welfare dollars by the billions and devastating our medical facilities and our economy in general. What do we hear from the media? We need the illegal aliens here, the Mexicans are doing the jobs that Americans won’t do. Well, for once, the media is right. But it’s not picking cabbage or washing dishes that Americans won’t do, Americans have always done that. So what job won’t Americans do? There...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama plans to travel and campaign more to pressure Republicans in Congress rather than trying to win their loyalty, sources say. Now that a mammoth, $787 billion economic stimulus bill has been approved virtually without Republican support, White House advisers have determined that Capitol Hill horse-trading with GOP opponents wasn't successful and that Obama should instead tap his immense popularity and public salesmanship skills to push legislation in the future, the Washington publication Politico reported Saturday. "We've got to get him out of that White House," a unnamed top White House adviser...

“President Obama’s executive order will drive up the cost of government at a time when we should be doing everything possible to save taxpayer dollars. Federal contracts should go to the businesses that can offer taxpayers the best value – not just the unions who supported the Democrats’ campaigns last year. Quietly signing executive orders to payback campaign backers undermines Obama promise to change Washington. It is a disappointment for Americans hoping for more transparency and less politics as usual in Washington.”

Few know it today, but Chicago was the birthplace of a powerful grassroots social movement that changed political activism in this country. "Community Organizing" was pioneered in Chicago's old stockyards neighborhood by the soberly realistic, unabashedly radical Saul Alinsky. Alinsky's hard-nosed politics were shaped by the rough and tumble world of late 1930's Chicago. Back then, the city, still in the grips of the Great Depression, was controlled by the Kelly-Nash political machine and by Frank Nitti - heir to Al Capone's Mafia empire. In 1938, with a freshly minted graduate degree in criminology from University of Chicago, Alinsky went...

As Nancy Pelosi’s trillion dollar grab bag of socialist spending hits a bumpy road in the Senate, Obama hits the panic button in a highly partisan attempt to rally Democrat law makers away on holiday at a swank little Williamsburg, VA spa. All that campaign talk about a new era of personal responsibility and bipartisan cooperation went right out the window the second congressional Republicans refused to lay down and take one for the team. Apparently, bipartisan now means roll over and play dead… If Obama were truly interested in a bipartisan effort to do what’s best for the nation,...

WASHINGTON — Long after President Obama finds a new secretary of health and human services, presumably one who has paid his or her taxes, the damage from this week’s failed nomination may still plague him and his party. For years, the Democrats have struggled to shed the image of a high-tax party, and Mr. Obama made significant progress last year, according to opinion polls. But the succession of Obama nominees who failed to pay all of their taxes handed the Republicans a simple, powerful and possibly enduring argument in future tax debates. “It is easy for the other side to...

PARISI: Democrats' call for civility 8 years late Peter J. Parisi THE WASHINGTON TIMES February 4, 2009 ANALYSIS/OPINION:The day before Barack Obama's inauguration as president, "Purple Nation" columnist Lanny Davis pleaded on this page for a return to civility in our nation's politics. Mr. Davis, a proudly self-professed liberal Democrat, announced his co-founding of what he is calling the Civility Project in a bid "to change the polarizing, attack-oriented political culture that has become all too common in recent years and, instead, to bring civility back as the staple of American politics and life." Sorry, Lanny, as worthy as your...

So figure this one out. Recently the Obama administration has put pressure on private companies to curtail lavish spending due to the economic crisis, and because some of those companies were receiving federal bailout funds. For example, Wells Fargo was pressured into canceling a planned trip to Las Vegas for their mortgage employees that performed well last year. They have also pressured companies into not buying new planes, paying bonuses to management, canceling employee retreats, etc. Then today Obama announced that those banks that have taken Federal bailout dollars had to put a salary cap in place for their CEO’s,...

President Obama has now achieved a pay grade that requires him to confront weighty decisions regarding the state of this nation's legal order, and the protection of human life. Among those decisions will be whether to use the Department of Justice and our courts to advance a legal order that upholds a Culture of Life. The President appears to be signaling his approach through several nominations to the Department of Justice, and one must wonder whether the Culture of Death is at the threshold. A number of the high-level nominees for Justice, if we view their records as an indicator,...

CHICAGO – President Obama has made a major mistake and put America’s families at risk by selecting David Ogden to become Deputy Attorney General, says Fidelis, a pro-family organization. “David Ogden is a hired gun from Playboy and ACLU. He can’t run from his long record of opposing common sense laws protecting families, women, and children. The United States Senate has a responsibility to the American people to insure that Mr. Ogden’s full record is fully reviewed before any vote on his nomination” said Brian Burch, President of Fidelis. “Ogden’s record is nothing short of obscene. He has represented Playboy...

WASHINGTON (AP) — An Obama administration official says Nancy Killefer is withdrawing her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government. The official said the 55-year-old executive with consulting giant McKinsey & Co., will detail her reason for pulling out later Tuesday. When her selection was announced by President Barack Obama on Jan. 7, The Associated Press disclosed that in 2005 the District of Columbia government had filed a more than $900 tax lien on her home for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help.

....The Democratic Party is overflowing with scandal although no one in the media is connecting the dots, but let me try: The Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee (Dodd) to "funky" loans from one of the banks his committee is supposedly regulation. The Chairman of the House Banking Committee refused regulation on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac until it was much too late. This may or may not have to do with the fact that his former lover (and Still Close Friend) was a high ranking executive at Fannie. Congressman Charlie Rangel is the head of the House Ways and...

I recently spoke with someone that thought highly of Nixon's Presidency. I asked him why Nixon didn't immediately go to the Attorney General and rat out all the perpetrators of the Watergate break in. He said that these were his friends and colleagues and that he felt a loyalty to protect them. Dick Morris once said something perceptive about the Presidency in this regard. Dick Morris said that Presidents need to be cut throat and ruthless. Presidents need to be able to cut their friends and loyal confidants loose as soon as they become a liability to their own Presidency....

As we reported a few days ago, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported its newest stats on union membership for 2008. These stats show that union membership has increased for the second straight year. But where it has increased is of key importance. The report shows a gain of 428,000 members, the largest in the last 25 years and since such statistics have been gathered. Alarmingly, a rising number of union workers are employed by government. The union membership rate for public sector workers (36.8 percent) was substantially higher than the rate for private industry workers (7.6 percent). Within the...

Post-election Obama and ACORN ACORN enthusiastically endorsed candidate Obama in the 2008 presidential race. A fundamentally unethical group, ACORN aims at more than community organizing: it proposes social engineering. Even Fannie Mae is involved. ACORN made headlines during the past presidential campaign, not just for candidate Barack Obama’s past work with the organization, but also for revelations that it was implicated in voter fraud and embezzlement. The situation was serious enough – and public enough – that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ charity, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, decided “to end CCHD funding of ACORN organizations because...

We have an influential and strong Fifth Column in America dedicated to our destruction and subjugation to Islamic law. Our most dangerous enemies are the Islamofascists, who want to destroy America and the West and substitute Sharia (Islamic law) for our Constitution and our laws. They are aided in this task by most of the Middle East studies departments and professors in other related departments established at our colleges and universities. Robert Spencer in his book Stealth Jihad, writes: “American universities have become propaganda centers not only for the anti-American Left, but for stealth jihadists and their allies — the...

A new poll shows California voters are so incensed with the state's budget gridlock that they are embracing a far-reaching reform soundly rejected at the ballot box three years ago: removing the two-thirds threshold for approving the budget. The survey released Wednesday by the Public Policy Institute of California also shows that voters want to impose a cap on government spending and that they support taxing wealthy taxpayers and corporations to help close the state's budget gap, projected at $40 billion through mid-2010. And not surprisingly, the continuing stalemate over state finances is exacting a toll on the governor's and...

Democrats Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh Tuesday, January 27, 2009 By Melanie Hunter-Omar (CNSNews.com) – The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition for readers to express their outrage at conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for saying last week that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail. The petition includes a 19-second sound byte of Limbaugh, saying, “If I wanted Obama to succeed, I’d be happy the Republicans have laid down. I don’t want this to work. So I’m thinking of replying to this guy, say ‘okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400...

The White House is promising new reviews of the "obligations" to the government by broadcasters who "occupy the nation's spectrum" just as the president has targeted conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh for a public attack, raising concerns over the possible restoration of the "Fairness Doctrine," a policy that failed as unneeded and unconstitutional two decades ago.

One sector of the American economy that is booming is the absolute orgy of guns and ammunition sales. I am pretty certain President Obama will not say anything positive about this economic news. I have read more than one report that shows how the surge of civilian firepower sales began back when it appeared that Obama was likely to be elected. The already-brisk guns and ammo market blew up another 25% once he was elected. Reason: freedom lovers do not trust liberal President Obama. His nomination for Attorney General, Mr. Eric Holder, proves that distrust is justified. Both President Obama...

Obama is laying the groundwork now for upcoming war against conservative speech. According to an account in the New York Post, President Barack Obama yesterday told Republican leaders, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." With George W. Bush now off the stage, it may be that Obama and some of his fellow Democrats view Limbaugh, and not John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, or any other elected official, as the true leader of the Republican opposition. This morning I asked Rush for his thoughts on all this, and here is his response: There are two things going on here. One prong of the Great Unifier's plan is to isolate...

Mayor Daley called Gov. Responding to questions about Gov. Rod Blagojevich's claims Friday that Democratic lawmakers are trying to oust him so they can raise taxes, Mayor Richard M. Daley said the governor was "cuckoo." He noted that he has called Blagojevich "cuckoo" once before. The earlier comment came in September, when Blagojevich questioned financial statements by the head of the Chicago Transit Authority. "I've said 'cuckoo'...

Leftists are always lecturing Republicans and conservatives on the importance of civility and bipartisanship yet revealing, whether winner or losing, that they are the ones who need lessons in manners and collegiality. If you aren't convinced of the left's nonpareil arrogance and nastiness from observing their behavior toward President Bush and Vice President Cheney for the past eight years, then contrast the behavior of Mr. Bush's staff leaving office and that of Mr. Clinton's, who literally trashed the White House like juvenile delinquents. Fast-forwarding to this week, did you see Obama supporters booing President Bush at the inauguration, singing, "Na,...

Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, installed Wednesday as the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), vowed to aggressively campaign in all 50 states and promised to rely on ideas and not ideology. “The 50-state strategy is now and forever what Democrats do,” Kaine told DNC members at the party’s winter meeting in Washington, D.C. The plan to seek to compete in all states was put in place by Kaine’s successor, Howard Dean. “The results speak for themselves. I’ll oversimplify: everybody matters. Every state, every region, every community matters,” Kaine said. However, he also warned Democrats to not simply trust...

In my opinion, the cultural war between secular-progressives and traditional Americans will become a violent, bloody war if the Democrats in Congress try to criminalize policy differences by trying to punish members of the Bush Administration for attempting (and succeeding) to protect American lives. Obama isn’t saying much, although he appointed Holder, but Pelosi, Conyers, Reid, Holder and others are mouthing some very dangerous thoughts. As a minimum, practices that were originated by Carter and Clinton and merely continued by the Bush Administration (such as rendition and warrantless wiretapping) will be given much publicity, and, beyond that, some of us...

(01-13) 04:00 PST Washington -- Even before Barack Obama is sworn in as president, some cracks are appearing in the alliance between the incoming administration and its Democratic allies in Congress. Top lawmakers are questioning details of the president-elect's nearly $1 trillion economic stimulus plan. And while Obama wants Congress to release the second half of the $700 billion financial rescue program, House Democrats are insisting on voting on legislation this week setting restrictions on how his administration can use the money. Behind the scenes, Obama's aides and congressional leaders are coordinating their moves closely. But publicly, lawmakers are seeking...

Despite a huge Democratic Senate majority, Eric Holder’s confirmation hearings are going to be difficult. He has a long record to defend. Whether it is his involvement and inconsistent statements about Bill Clinton’s pardon of fugitive financier Marc Rich’s or his pushing Clinton’s clemency of the FALN terrorists or his failure to disclose his work for troubled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich after Blagojevich's legal problems surfaced, he faces tough questions. But Holder’s nomination raises other questions about what President-elect Barack Obama claimed he believed during the campaign. Numerous times he promised that he supported an individual’s right to own guns...
