Washington DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon. “The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they...

Inspired by Sherwood Pictures (creators of FIREPROOF, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel) AFG has constructed its own model for creating great movies for a faith-based audience. "There was a core team of 40 home schooled student from across 16 different states that worked on the movie," he says. With a team at the ready, George and others worked on the script. (Critics: They're useless; Supporters: They're absolutely essential) NOGALES — Three men prop a ladder on top of a tree branch and lean it against a 15-foot border fence made of steel tubes so close together a man can't fit his head through. One by one, they climb over and shimmy down the other side, landing in the United States at the bottom of the Mariposa Wash, about two miles west of Nogales. They jog north across a concrete road, fading into the brush. On a nearby ridge, a U.S. Border Patrol agent watches, then jumps in his SUV and speeds...

It was a crisp night in Chicago as I ventured down to the Chicago Theater, the Grand Dame of State Street, to catch the final performance of the Bill Maher - Ann Coulter Debate. The ninety year-old movie house dates to a time when they were rightfully called “palaces” because it’s like watching a show inside a giant Faberge Egg. This was the third debate of the series, the other two were held in New York and Boston.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Rush Limbaugh, the most listened to radio host in America, says recent efforts by the White House and Democrats to demonize him are actually helping his show in financial success and personal popularity. "Revenues at the EIB Network in the first quarter of 2009 are up 13 and a half percent over first quarter revenues of 2008," Limbaugh announced this afternoon, "and at our revenue baseline, that is not an insignificant percentage or amount represented by it." In an event billed as a “distinguished speaker series” event, Ann Coulter faced off against Bill Maher last night at Radio City Music Hall in New York. In front of 6,000 hissing New York City liberals -- alternately absorbing and answering vulgar, sexist and racist insults from “comedian” Bill Maher -- Coulter battled back against audience shriekers, an unfunny Maher and “moderator” Mark Halperin of Time Magazine in a “debate” that would have been more accurately billed as a cage match and shown on Pay-per-View tv. ...Embarrassed Darwinists The next for consideration is Jonathan Wells and his Icons of Evolution. A stinging critique of ten familiar textbook evidences for evolution, Wells’ book provoked shrill cries of dismay from Darwinists, including Jerry Coyne and Eugenie Scott. Wells’ reply is highlighted as a rhetorically powerful rebuttal in which he catches his critics in scientific carelessness and in the debate tactic of ‘shifting the goalposts’. An example is the issue of embryonic homology—the Darwinian claim that embryos in various vertebrates look alike at various stages of development, and that this indicates common ancestry. Wells pointed out the extensive dissimilarities...

SAN FRANCISCO — The 109th and 110th editions of the U.S. Congress debated and battled but never came up with a major immigration bill that its members could pass. Whether the 111th Congress will fare any better remains to be seen. In the first of what is likely to be many more salvos, a Chicago-area congressman will be touring the Bay Area this weekend, issuing a faith-focused call to make immigration reform a national priority — even as foreclosures, health care and urgent economic troubles vie for President Barack Obama's attention. It is difficult to arrange a debate of anthropogenic (that is, man-made) global warming (AGW) because few proponents of AGW are willing to face such debate. WASHINGTON – Democratic congressional leaders and the Obama administration indicated Monday that they will push for greater federal authority to locate electric transmission lines, saying a national power grid stands in the way of developing alternative energy sources. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he will soon introduce legislation that includes giving federal regulators authority to override states on electric grid placement decisions as part of a package of energy proposals the Senate is expected to take up in the coming weeks. Recently I engaged a young college student in a conversation about the basic differences between conservativism and liberalism. I thought I did a pretty good job espousing the virtues of conservatism, but I remember wishing at the time that I had an argument with more punch...something more fundamental. After some pondering, I hit upon a simple, but stark comparison: Conservatism is the philosophy of Life and Liberty. Liberalism is the philosophy of Death and Slavery. It is as simple as that. I may not be the first person to think of this, since it seems so obvious, but regardless, here...

Abraham Lincoln's Birthday is this Thursday. I thought it fitting to quote from the first Republican president's debates against Stephen Douglas. Each had an hour to present their case, hardly what the mainstream media would like. I think, and shall try to show, that it is wrong; wrong in its direct effect, letting slavery into Kansas and Nebraska and wrong in its prospective principle, allowing it to spread to every other part of the wide world where men can be found inclined to take it. This declared indifference, but, as I must think, covert real zeal for the spread of...

Barack Obama may be ahead in the polls in Pennsylvania, but he remains the "underdog," his wife, Michelle Obama, said today at a rally in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. With 19 days left, the Illinois senator’s wife was in Allegheny County to excite the base. She spoke in front of 1,500 supporters at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum, where both her husband and Sen. Hillary Clinton held rallies in the Pennsylvania primary. RealClearPolitics shows Obama up 14 percentage points, that is a pretty steep plus for an underdog.

We arrived at our destination, then had to walk through the 1st security check point (we were given our id badges by the campaign prior to boarding the bus). We then walked on over to our "homebase"...which was about a...
  • Obama’s Flat Out Falsehoods: Obama tells outright falsehoods during last night’s debate

A written transcript of last night's Presidential debate proves beyond any reasonable doubt that Barack Hussein Obama is totally unworthy of trust: an outright prevaricator through and through. Let's begin with his involvement with ACORN. During the Nuremberg trials, Nazi war criminals used the following defenses, in the following order: (1) "It didn't happen," (2) "All right, it happened, but I wasn't there," and finally, (3) "All right, I did it, but I was only following orders." Here is what Barry told Captain (USN, retired) McCain, moderator Bob Schieffer, and the American people about an organization whose members are being...

“I’ve looked over Jordan, and I have seen Things are not what they seem. What do you get for pretending the danger’s not real... Meek and obedient you follow the leader Down well- trodden corridors into the valley of steel.” - Roger Waters I am tired of all the dancing around the subject with respect to Barack Obama’s political, social, and economic views. He’s not a “liberal,” or a “Democrat,” or a “progressive,” or even a “socialist.” Let’s call it what it is, shall we? It’s time to use the “C” word. His policies are communist, pure and simple. Even...

  • Higher Tax REVENUE is Not the Same as Higher TAXES

One point I'd like to recommend to McCain, and I wish that he'd used it last night -- is that a distinction can and needs be made between higher tax revenue and higher tax rates. When John McCain says he wants to cut taxes, it rings hollow in the minds of undecided voters who realize that deficits are too high and that government has to do SOMETHING to reduce the delta. McCain's theory, implicitly, is that cutting tax rates strengthens the economy, and the economy in turn grows, which in turn creates a net INCREASE in tax revenue/income. But McCain...

A series of Iraq war protests culminated with the arrest of 15 people on disorderly conduct charges at the gates of Hofstra University. Most of those arrested were from out of state and from New York City, police said Thursday morning. The largest crowd, about 350 people, carrying signs and shouting slogans, gathered outside the gates at 5:30 p.m. and remained for hours. Smaller groups gathered earlier on campus, in downtown Hempstead and at the Hempstead train station. About 7:30 p.m. a scrum broke out between protesters and mounted police outside the gates when police refused to allow anti-war veterans...

MAC'S SHOT AT A LATE-GAME WIN By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN Published in the The New York Post on October 16, 2008 The short term impact of the third debate will be to help Barack Obama. But the long term implications may give John McCain a needed boost. Obama looked good, but McCain opened the tax-and-spend issue in a way that might prevail. Obama took the worst that McCain could hand out and came out looking good. McCain was the more aggressive debater, but Obama looked like the better president. The constants of the debate remained. Obama is smoother,...
