Walter Reed - Week 191, December 12, 2008, Busy Season for DC FReepers A very cold Friday night and we broke out cold weather gear including hand warmers to stay warm. Hot coffee helped ward off the chill. Many drivers honked in support of the troops as they passed by our signs and flags. Halfway down a long block several moonbats stood like mannequins with their morbid messages serving as a grim reminder as to why we are there. The bus with its wounded warriors and their families returned at 9:50pm. NEWS FROM THE FRONT GATEPlea Deal wants to share...

Warning - Warning Will Robinson TROOPRALLY, Do not try deep frying a turkey in 30 degree weather!! And don’t leave the turkey outside while it takes 90 minutes for the oil to reach the minimum 325 degree temperature, it will also become super cold, the oil will drop to 50 degrees, never to come back up!! And so dinner started an hour late. Luckily we had plenty of chaffing dishes keeping all the other food hot and ready. But before the official D.C. Chapter Christmas Party started, a hearty but cold 8 Patriots FReeped the "Quackers" in Olney. They were...

“Billie” (as in a man that has no manly traits) had to sneak into his book signing event at the All Souls Unitarian Church, even with 3 police officers standing by the main entrance. He was a wussy when he sent out his sheeple to bomb and kill Americans, and he still is a wussy. Kristinn put up a thread alerting him to our protest and that could have been one reason that he moved his event to the church. When the manager of Busboys and Poets Terrorists establishment saw us on the sidewalk, he quickly showed us a flyer...

Walter Reed - Week 187, November 14, 2008, Veteran’s Day Week A misty, damp, but mild and quiet evening at the front gates of Walter Reed. A fitting way to end Veteran’s Day week observances. Many, as I did, visited the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial and the Air Force Memorial, which overlooks the just dedicated Pentagon Memorial commemorating those who were lost there during the terrorist attack on September 11. But Friday night found us again at the front gates of Walter Reed honoring our service men and women, and supporting the wounded...

Walter Reed – October 17, 2008, Week 183, Plumber’s Support The Troops, Late BusesBrisk weather has arrived in Washington at last! Gloves and jackets were broken out. A very enthusiastic evening. A sign posted by plumbers union #007 was an unexpected conversation piece. The plumbers who posted it, didn’t stay, but left their plungers. Several moonbats quietly lingered down the block. They kept their distance. We spoke with several wounded warriors during the evening. One of the wounded warriors, Bob, from Wisconsin, had spent two tours in Afghanistan with the 173rd. He has one more operation to go and is...

Walter Reed – September 19, 2008, Week 179, The Troops, Always the Troops A cool Friday night at last, starting off pleasant, but slowly the jackets came out to counter the chill. Warmth was generated by several visits from soldiers, visitors and FReepers. This is the last Friday in Summer, Autumn starts Monday. The passing cars kept up their support with a high volume of honks. And the bus of wounded warriors and their families returning from their Friday night dinner was greeted by a solid group of FReepers with flags, signs and shouts. Dennis from Florida joined us for...

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will forever admire the courageous stand taken by Linda Tripp to tell the truth during the dark days of the investigation leading up to the impeachment of President Clinton. This was done at great personal sacrifice. It is with great sadness and concern that we learned recently that, while others have profited handsomely from their criminal acts during the Clinton era, Linda Tripp has been nearly bankrupted and is facing foreclosure on her home. She was fired from her government job by Bill Clinton on the last day of his term. Her attempts to ...

Walter Reed – August 15, 2008, MOONBAT MESSIN’ on a HOT SUMMER NIGHT Usually mid-August in Washington is hot, humid and quiet as the final weeks of summer vacation wind down. Severe showers were predicted but only a few sprinkles appeared which didn’t dampen our high spirits. Tonight at Walter Reed, a motivated and enthusiastic group of FReepers, visitors, soldiers and a steady stream of honking cars focused on supporting our troops and their families. Last week, Tom the Redhunter, wrote about crazy man and his demoralizing posters in our area. We took down a couple of posters that had...

I am wondering if there is a move afoot to "demonstrate" to Putin's people that what he is doing is an unconscionable. I understand that everyone who works at the Pentagon has to put up with an every-Monday protest by local long-haired, maggott-infested, dope-smoking, FM-Type; Neo-commies.

The passing motorist really showed their support this Saturday. With the weather in the low 80s and humidity down, no dog day of August this Saturday, the passing cars and trucks were just overwhelming us with supportive waves and honks. A protest planned by MoveOn.org against the ongoing House GOP floor protest became a surreal scene Tuesday when right-wing activists showed up outside the Capitol to protest the protest protest. The conservative activists, numbering about 20 and affiliated with Free Republic, stood behind the MoveOn speakers waving signs along the lines of “Pump Rage? Thank MoveOn” and “It’s the Supply, Stupid.” The MoveOn crowd countered with their own pithy “Drill and Spill, or Surf and Swim?” and “Just Say No to False Solutions.” The FReepers chanted “Drill! Drill! Drill!” as MoveOn’s Ilyse Hogue tried to speak into a bull horn....

We gathered on the north side of Lafayette Square at 2:30 to scope out the terrain. The moonbats had permitted Lafayette Square and the sidewalk in front of the White House. Not that the less than 100 “Out of Iran” and pro-Palestinian groups needed that much space. All in all, their small group looked pitiful in light of their claim that a majority of Americans supported their anarchical views. Even when the moonbats persuaded some on lookers to march with them for a short time, they were pitiful. For you D.C. FReepers, the regulars were there, Squeegie, Princess (in leather...

July 25, 2008, Soldiers and Visitors Drop ByA mid-summer’s Friday evening, not too hot, but a little humid. Traffic seemed not as heavy as normal due to vacations. Our group was enthusiastic and the passers-by honked their support throughout the evening. The moonbats did whatever they always do, generally be obnoxious. (More about this later). We have identified one moonbat as a paid traveling loser. He travels with his suitcase and catches the Greyhound on Georgia Ave to the next paid protest. We were joined by Danny, her sister Mandie and Danny’s three children. They are from Alaska and moving...

Click image to enlarge. hat tip: Kristen, Free Republic The more candidates call for "CHANGE!", the more they stay the same. Barack Obama--who has repackaged failed liberal ideas in a shiny rhetorical package, sold it to the young and historically-ignorant, and parlayed it into the Democrat presidential nomination--has used his FightTheSmears.com campaign website to publish an Enemies List. By tagging conservative activists as part of a "smear", Obama has re-defined the word to mean "those who do not agree with you". Obama's site doesn't say that the activities the activists are engaged in are illegal , immoral (to anyone other...

WOW and DOUBLE WOW is the only way I can describe the Patriotic Americans that attended the Walter Reed and Olney FReeps. It’s Saturday afternoon as I started this combined AAR and my heart still pounds with pride over all those who came out, especially to Walter Reed on the evening of the Fourth. Since I’m honored this week to write the Walter Reed AAR and usually write the Olney AAR, I had to combine the two because of their similarities. Several weeks ago a question as to who will be at Walter Reed came up. About 4 or 5...

The Trooprally's drive in heavy rain on the way to WR In a few weeks PrezUSA222 (Chad) will no longer be able to stand with us at Walter Reed on Friday nights. He's got new responsibilities. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of terrorists to get access to our courts, illegal aliens can stay even when they agree to leave, and ruled in favor of child rapists. A few weeks ago we had a series of very powerful thunderstorms that sent trees tumbling all around the region. One was on the easement by the street just by where we put up the MOAB, and in typical Washington DC fashion the government hasn't gotten around to doing anything about it. JUNE 13, FLAG DAY AND US ARMY BIRTHDAY WEEKENDThe Friday evening, before Flag Day and the United States Army’s 233rd Birthday, saw our enthusiasm high with a continuous stream of honks and waves from passing cars. No rain ( a change from the recurring Friday night showers this past spring), but a very warm and pleasant night with cooling breezes near dusk, and good camaraderie among the twenty-three FReepers and visitors.. FRIDAY EVENING, WALTER REED FRONT GATE:A sultry evening, hot and humid, typical Washington summer weather, albeit earlier then usual. But we had plenty of ice-cold water and sodas to help combat the heat. It did cool off at dusk and no one wilted. As we were setting up, VictoryNY, with only a sign, began to capture the attention of drivers and passengers. Throughout the evening we had positive participation on all four corners. RonGKirby didn’t disappoint as he continued to bring a relevant sign for the day. Tonight, of course, his message was to thank the WW II soldiers for...

May Day, the communists' day of celebration is a day that the moonbats look forward to every year. This year they were especially thrilled with a flashback to their early days. Fraxinus (BELOW) wore a different style t-shirt this Saturday but from across the intersection, it was a flashbcak to the psychedelic, intoxicating, 60s. Bringing this thread back to reality, we had another great visitor to our FReep. Frank is a marshall from the Gathering of Eagles events.
