PASADENA, Texas — Two teenage girls are accused of stabbing a 75-year-old man to death in a robbery that netted them just $15, and police say the mother of one of the teens helped put them up to it. Dannette R. Gillespie, 38, gave knives to her 15-year-old daughter and Vanessa Anne Ocampo, 19, then waited in the back seat of their car while the teens robbed and killed Eugene Palma, according to a probable cause warrant. ... Ocampo told investigators they went to the bar and followed Palma home when he left. Gillespie handed knives to her daughter and...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Barack Obama is drawing gasps from pro-life advocates today over comments he made during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania over the weekend. The leading Democratic presidential candidate appeared to back a potential decision by his daughters to seek an abortion saying he wouldn't "punish" them with a baby. Obama's comments came in the context of off-the-cuff remarks addressing the issue of AIDS. The candidate indicated he favored teaching both abstinence education as well as sexual education and he appeared to be hard-pressed to come up with something else to say when he brought up his daughters....

An American woman fighting to get back four daughters living in the West Bank with their Palestinian father has gotten unusually high-powered help - from Barack Obama. The U.S. presidential hopeful raised the case of the Chicago-area woman in his meeting with Palestinian leaders last week, and won a promise from Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to look into the matter. And that's how the private battle between Yasser and Colleen Barghouti, which spans continents and cultures, took a public turn. In separate interviews, the two offered conflicting explanations of what brought the family to Barghouti's home village of Kobar in...

Father, have you been to the mall lately and watched an unsupervised group of teenage girls get hit on by the ubiquitous male oxygen thieves? Pretty disturbing, eh? What’s even more mind numbing is the number of beautiful young ladies who actually give these scat based boys the time of day. Unreal. Ticks you off now, doesn’t it? If you have a pre-teen niña, then more than likely after watching those mall chicks capitulate to the weird male critter’s advances, you probably just swore to God that your daughter will never grow up to be one of “those girls” who...

MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - A Mexican woman and her three American daughters have been caught smuggling $1.16 million worth of cocaine into Texas from Mexico, a rare case of a mother and her family trafficking drugs, U.S. customs said on Friday. The four women stashed the cocaine under their clothes and inside their 2006 Mercedes Benz and tried to cross through the Brownsville, Texas entry port from eastern Mexico. A sniffer dog alerted customs agents to the smell of cocaine emanating from the car and agents also noted unusual bulges under their clothes, finding cocaine packages on three of the...

A man is facing a murder charge after authorities say he shot and killed a motorcyclist who followed his daughters home from a department store. Richard Harold Gear, 45, claimed he was acting in self-defense when he shot Bryan Joseph Mough around 6:45 p.m. Monday as Mough drove his motorcycle past Gear's house, Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry said. The daughters, ages 17 and 19, had called their father on a cell phone to tell him they were being followed, Berry said. As they arrived home, Gear was waiting at the end of his driveway with a pistol, Berry said....

In the last two years, international organizations and Asian nations have stepped up their efforts to eliminate sex-selective abortions, which have created a massive dearth of girls in many nations over the past 20 years. With the new year, some new statistics have been released. The result of these efforts? The sex imbalance continues to worsen, not improve, thanks to the ever-increasing spread of cheap abortion and ultrasound technology into more and more areas of China, India, and other countries. IT was not so long ago that men and women voted along similar lines. Both sexes went overwhelmingly for Richard Nixon in 1972 and narrowly for Jimmy Carter in 1976. Today, though, the gender gap — that men lean right and women lean left — has become a political truism, and a series of new studies suggests that gender plays an even bigger role in politics than many believed. Having a son tends to make parents more conservative, it appears, while a daughter makes them more liberal. The parental has become the political. snip... In Germany, two-thirds of people who...

Daughters, as Mr Bennett observed in Pride and Prejudice, can be a trial. But he never suggested that they were less likely to make him vote Tory. That conclusion comes from new research analysing the data in the British Household Panel Survey. Professor Andrew Oswald and Dr Nattavudh Powdthavee have found a link between female offspring and a propensity to support Labour or the Lib Dems. Sixty-six percent of Britons with three sons and no daughters voted for one of the two parties, but 78% of parents with three daughters and no sons did so. The academics also found that...

Question: Is there a way that I as a father can influence my daughter's attitude toward boys? If she chooses to marry, she will need to understand men and know how to relate to them. Is that something I should be thinking about? Dr. Dobson: You bet it is. Back in March, 27-year-old Vanessa Kerry, weighing in on foreign policy, opined out of nowhere that George W. North American Report/Fatherhood At-Home Dads Gather and Bond by Kristyn Komarnicki in Des Plaines, Illinois At a November 21 convention in suburban Chicago, 100 American men gathered to network, listen to experts, and exchange strategies for improving job performance. But any resemblance to corporate America ended there. Dress was casual, the atmosphere noncompetitive, and topics included ways to support working spouses, tips on defusing a two-year-old's temper tantrums, and the desire to see more diaper-changing tables installed in men's restrooms. Giving voice to the growing ranks of men engaged in full-time fatherhood, the third annual At-Home Dads Convention in Des...

When Eric and Jody courted during graduate school, they assumed that when the time came to raise a family, Eric would work and Jody would stay home with the kids. Six years later, things looked different. "I liked my job, but Jody loved hers," says Eric. "Jody made lots more money than I ever could have. It became clear to each of us that she should work and I should stay home. We came to this decision through a lot of prayer and by discussing it with our church friends ad nauseum."Three children later, Eric is passionate about being a...

How old is your daughter? 13? 14? If that's the case, are you sure you know where she is right now? You need to be. You need to be extremely aware of who she is talking to and who she is hanging with. The reason why is simple. Some medical "professionals" are aiding those who would like to rape or sexually assault her and they will aid them again and again and again - as long as they can make $285-$710 per rape or sexual assault. The really strange thing about it is - that most likely you or your...

While it may be unusual for such a dispute to reach the courthouse, gay-rights activists say family conflicts over sexuality issues are common. "As much as he loved his family and his money, there's no way he would walk off and leave them - especially not his veteran's pension, his Social Security and his trailer park," said Jack's cousin-in-law Odis Martin. A natural-born hustler and ex-Marine, Windsor "Jack" Thomason was 64 the last time he had a face-to-face conversation with one of his six grown children. Soon after that Christmas...

For months, the children of Windsor "Jack" Thomason of Rendon had been demanding that his fourth wife, Amanda, explain where he was. Posted on Sun, Mar. 17, 2002 Dead reckoning By Jennifer Autrey Star-Telegram Staff Writer `First of three parts' Even the children who love him admit that there are plenty of people who might have contemplated killing Windsor Denman Thomason. For decades, Jack, as he was called, vexed the police, his lawyer, his ex-wife and even his own children with his foolish hustles. Then he...
