BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Attorneys Benjamin Crump and Bradley Gage are accusing the Southern California city of Beverly Hills of racial profiling, hitting the city with a $500 million class-action lawsuit. The lawsuit represents 1,086 Black people out of the 1,088 they say were unjustly arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department between Aug. 30, 2019 and Aug. 30, 2021. That number represents 34% of all arrests within Beverly Hills while African Americans only make up less than 2% of the city's residents.

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Taco Bell is being sued by two customers after they said a manager poured boiling hot water on them. The lawsuit was filed on July 13 in Dallas County for the incident that took place on June 17. Brittany Davis and C.T. (a minor) both suffered severe burns and trauma when a Dallas Taco Bell manager poured boiling water on them as they tried to resolve an issue with their order. Protesters gathered in Fayetteville in North Carolina for a second night on Monday after a black man was shot dead by an off-duty cop, who claims he acted in self-defense to protect his wife and daugter. Jason Walker, 37, was killed just after 2.15pm on Saturday outside his home on Bingham Drive. A Baytown police officer was indicted Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of Pamela Turner last year. A Harris County grand jury indicted Officer Juan Delacruz on a charge of first-degree aggravated assault by a public servant in the May 13, 2019, shooting. According to investigators, Delacruz encountered Turner, 44, while on patrol and knew that she had warrants out for her arrest. Turner resisted arrest and was able to get hold of Delacruz’s Taser and shock him with it, investigators said. Investigators said that was when Delacruz fired, killing Turner.
