"Because we're leading around the world, people have a new attitude toward America. There’s more confidence in our leadership. We see it everywhere we go," President Obama said at the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno. "Four years ago, I stood before you at a time of great challenge for our nation. We were engaged in two wars. Al Qaeda was entrenched in their safe havens in Pakistan. Many of our alliances were frayed. Our standing in the world had suffered. We were in the worst recession of our lifetimes. Around the world, some questioned whether the United States...

What is it about leftists and their hate-hate affair with America? RadioOrNot.com host Nicole Sandler, formerly of the justifiably defunct Air America Radio, has upped the ante on libtalker Bill Press, who vented about his visceral loathing for the national anthem, and chirpy MSNBC weekend host Chris Hayes, who sniffed in disdain at the notion of fallen soldiers as "heroes." (Audio clip after page break).Libtalker: I HATE This G-D Country!Heck, Sandler hates the nation as a whole, not just its venerated secular hymn and most selfless warriors. Here is Sander filling in for liberal soulmate Randi Rhodes on Tuesday, the...

Wellllllll Jim, Enjoy The Bed You’ve Made . SUMMARY: . IN COMPLEX INTERPERSONAL SITUATIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS—WHO CAN KNOW WHAT IS “REALLY REAL?” APPEARANCES ARE WHAT IS REAL TO THE OBSERVER CONCERNED. So, in many respects, the REAL might be the opposite of the statements below. However, the statements ARE PERCEIVED TO BE—APPARENTLY REAL ENOUGH for evidently thousands of FREEPERS that only idiots would fail to give such assertions fitting prayerful pondering. 1. Your leadership and leadership culture are consistent with those of a fairly complex person—like many of us. 2. Your leadership and leadership team CAN be quite generous, forgiving,...

In another move that shows the members of Occupy Wall Street are completely out of their minds, a picture of Rebecca Black, famous for singing the poorly-reviewed song "Friday," has appeared on "AnarchistNews.org." The picture inexplicably has a man with a gas mask and probably an ax creeping behind Ms. Black. There is no explanation for the picture whatsoever. However, the photo appears in a lengthy article about how corporations are destroying the world and how people need to "fight back" against a sort of omni-present oppressor. However, the article does state clearly who will save the downtrodden. To quote,...

The notion that Mitt Romney is still or unpersonable is a narrative that's just not true, his wife Ann Romney said Tuesday on "CBS This Morning." "I think in politics this is what always happens," Ann Romney said. "There is a narrative, you like to put someone in a box and keep them in a box." But taking Mitt playfully by the shoulders, Ann Romney said Tuesday, "I still look at him as the boy that I met in high school when he was playing all the jokes and really just being crazy, pretty crazy. And so there's a wild...

NEW DELHI/LONDON: This bizarre deathwatch occurred across continents 11,000km apart over four months back, but few knew about it until now. A British automobile consultant slashed his throat and wrists in his rented Green Park flat in South Delhi while his girlfriend watched in horror on Skype from Reading in the UK. The consultant, Adrian Rowland, 53, was video-chatting with his partner, Julie Zalinski, when he suddenly slashed himself with a broken bottle. Speaking for the first time about the shocking experience at an inquest on the death in Oxford, UK, Julie Zalinski said on Tuesday that she had informed...

Keith Olbermann is a liar, a bully ... and worst of all -- he's just plain MEAN ... this according to Current TV. The network has fired back at the "Countdown" host ... claiming his $70 million lawsuit is "false and malicious." Current also says Olbermann was a crappy employee ... and got the chop due to "serial, material breaches of his contract, including the failure to show up at work, sabotaging the network and attacking Current and its executives." A rep for the network added, "As the old adage says: 'When the law is on your side, you argue...

What’s not to love about Sheila Jackson Lee? The Houston Democrat has represented Texas’s 18th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 1995. And legendary oddball public statements have presented journalists and political commentators with a veritable gold mine of bizarre malapropisms. She is truly a gift that keeps on giving. But earlier this week, Rep. Jackson Lee succeeded in lowering the bar of civil political discourse even further than her meanest critics could have predicted. In a rabble-rousing speech to some of her supporters, she suggested that George Zimmerman, the block-watch captain down in Florida who...

As they say in the business, the optics of this are all wrong. The Smoking Gun: The mother of Trayvon Martin has filed two applications to secure trademarks containing her late son's name, records show. "In fact, he says, schizophrenia did not rise in prevalence until the latter half of the 18th century, when for the first time people in Paris and London started keeping cats as pets. The so-called cat craze began among “poets and left-wing avant-garde Greenwich Village types,” says Torrey, but the trend spread rapidly—and coinciding with that development, the incidence of schizophrenia soared. " *** “If I had to guess,” says Torrey, “I’d say 75 percent of cases of schizophrenia are associated with infectious agents, and Toxo would be involved in a significant subset of those.” *** "Closer inspection of Flegr’s...

Richard Viguerie has an interesting observation regarding the methodology of Ron Paul’s campaign intended to leave Paul as the last not-Romney standing, Ron Paul Goes Bird Hunting: "Experienced bird hunters and fighter pilots know you don’t aim for the leader of a flight — you start at the back of the flight and work your way forward. This is apparently what Congressman Ron Paul is doing to his opponents in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Rather than aim at purported frontrunner Mitt Romney (who should be the number one target of his libertarian supporters), Ron Paul has been...

The singer married Barry Herridge, a 38-year-old therapist, in a Las Vegas “drive-thru” wedding on December 8. But they managed to live together for just seven days and split for good on Christmas Eve. She blamed people close to Herridge for conspiring to ruin the marriage and said she ended the relationship because her husband was “too nice to trap”. Things were not helped by O’Connor, 45, spending her wedding night on the hunt for drugs. “From the moment myself and my husband got together not long ago, there was intense pressure placed upon him by certain people in his...
