The government anti-corruption campaign has prosecuted more high-ranking thieves recently, and a lot more lower-ranking officials as well. This campaign has been going on longer, and taking down more people than any previous effort. The government also insists that this campaign will not, as in the past, simply diminish and fade away as past anti-corruption efforts have. This worries a lot of Chinese, even though most admit that the corruption is the greatest threat the current communist government faces. The potential problem is the growing risk that corrupt businessmen and officials who fear prosecution will get organized and fight back....

Liberal billionaire George Soros gave $500,000 to Texans for Public Justice, one of the groups behind Rick Perry’s indictment charges. Rick Perry was indicted by a Texas grand jury for vetoing funding for the state’s public integrity unit, unless the lead prosecutor resigned following her drunk driving arrest. Since the news of Perry’s indictment charge broke on Aug. 15, none of the network morning or evening news broadcasts have mentioned the Soros connection, or mentioned Texans for Public Justice at all. Naturally, this piece of information is going completely unreported by the mainstream media. When it comes to funding, liberals...

Following earlier denials, Liberia has admitted that 17 suspected Ebola patients are "missing" after a health centre in the capital was looted. The government had sought to reassure people, saying all the patients had been moved to another health facility. But Information Minister Lewis Brown told the BBC that 17 inmates had gone "back into their communities".
  • Democrats Corrupt Indictment Of Rick Perry

Texas Governor Rick Perry has been indicted for abuse of power. This is, unfortunately, the headline most Americans will see. They won’t bother to look into the matter any further. Their reaction will be along the lines of “yet another politician has abused his power.” Usually this reaction is accurate. However, each case has to be looked at on its own. In the case of Perry, there isn’t an iota of evidence that he abused his power. In fact, if we look at the facts it becomes clear that he exercised his lawful power under the Texas Constitution. That information...

AUSTIN, Texas -- In light of the malicious prosecution of Governor Rick Perry, Republican lawmakers are rushing to jump on the bandwagon opposing the Democrats politically motivated action. But several House Republicans loyal to liberal House Speaker, Joe Straus, bear responsibility for setting the stage leading to the indictments.

The indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury in Travis County, Texas, is part of a power struggle that originates with a serious crime, albeit not one committed by Gov. Perry. That crime, as everyone knows by now, is drunk driving, and it was committed by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg. When Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, Democrat, was arrested and charged with drunk driving on April 12, 2013, her blood alcohol level measured .23. That is just shy of three times the legal limit in Texas, which is .08. According to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage...

On July 10, D.C. federal judge Emmet Sullivan gave the IRS thirty days to provide him sworn declarations in the Freedom of Information Act suit filed by Judicial Watch, seeking much of the same information the IRS has effectively kept from Congress. After an “extraordinary” hearing, Judge Sullivan ordered the IRS to tell him under oath exactly what happened to Lois Lerner’s hard drive. He demanded sworn declarations specifying what the agency had done to recover the thousands of emails missing. Time’s up. The IRS filed its “declarations” yesterday. As an attorney who has read the filings and who has...

A news crew, clearly no threat or impediment to the cops, films from a verge in Ferguson, Missouri. A pop and a cloud of white smoke marks the arrival of a tear gas canister at their feet, and the newscrew is forced to flee. Moments later, police pull up in an armored van and hurriedly try to break down the film equipment--until they notice that another crew is still filming them from across the street.

Full title: Comcast Spends $110k On Award Dinner For FCC Commissioner, Doesn’t See Why Anyone Thinks That’s A Problem Comcast really wants to buy Time Warner Cable. Really really. And they have no shortage of ways, both subtle and obvious, to try to push the odds farther in their favor. Targeted philanthropy and sponsorships are definitely a part of that, and Comcast is usually happy to take the credit. So while spending six figures to sponsor an event honoring a sitting FCC commissioner who gets to make decisions about things like media mergers might seem a little out of bounds...

Comcast and Time Warner Cable are spending more than $130,000 on a dinner to honor one of the federal regulators who will rule on their controversial merger plan, according to records of the companies’ contributions. The fundraising event for the Walter Kaitz Foundation will honor Federal Communications Commission panel member Mignon Clyburn as an advocate for diversity.

The Obama administration on Tuesday rolled back part of its ban on lobbyists serving in government, narrowing one of the president’s signature policies in the face of a legal challenge. Under a new rule, registered lobbyists whom Mr. Obama had previously barred from serving on government advisory boards may now participate if they are representing companies or groups and not acting on their own behalf.

Mayor Lou Mavrakis drove slowly through Monessen, block by block, pointing out one vacant, blighted building after another in the city of 7,700 along the Monongahela River. “That belongs to me,” he said, pointing to a house with a collapsing roof that has become the responsibility of the city and the mayor. Tax records show the building is one of 264 structures and lots in the city that have been abandoned by their owners. More than 26 percent of the city's 734 blighted properties are owned by people from 24 states and five foreign countries, beyond the legal reach of...

Why would anyone dislike Barack Obama? Could it be because of what he’s done in the White House? As you get a refresher on the national nightmare that has been Barack Obama’s presidency, keep in mind that the biggest difficulty in compiling it was limiting it to just 50 examples of corruption, dishonesty, and incompetence. 1) Because of Obama’s policies since he became President, 11,472,000 Americans have left the work force. 2) “Fewer Americans are at work today than in April 2000, even though the population since then has grown by 31 million.” — Mortimer Zuckerman 3) The number of...

Forget protecting and serving; we’re all potential bad guys in the eyes of the law that looks to jail us, fine us, and seize our property for profit. Retired LAPD Deputy Chief of Police Stephen Downing told FoxNews Latino, “The federal government has turned policing into policing for profit.” Cops are tracking down cash, rather than crime. Downing told Fox that departments now direct police assets to generate cash, instead of investigating murders and rapes. And there are plenty of abstruse laws to trip up even the most careful citizen. The American Bar Association task force reported that the body...

On Friday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin recorded a video for her new website to talk about her brief encounters with slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. Last week, another former governor, Minnesota’s Jesse Ventura won $1.8 million from Kyle’s widow in a defamation suit against Chris Kyle’s estate. This did sit well with Gov. Palin. Palin called Ventura a “jackass” and questioned how a former Navy SEAL like himself would go after a widow and the legacy of an “American hero.” ‘”You turn around and sue, expecting $2 million from a military widow and her fatherless children? Yeah, like that...

An open disdain for the nature of our Constitutional republic must be a requisite to work in the leadership roles of the Obama Administration. In a recent interview, the nation’s chief extortionist officer (Eric Holder) explained that he’s proud to be considered an “activist” attorney general. In fact, he even suggested that being an “activist” was necessary for his job at the Department of Justice:"If you want to call me an activist attorney general, I will proudly accept that label.” What if I want to call him something else? He went on: "Any attorney general who is not an activist...

At his best Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., made short work of a Democrat-friendly law professor testifying before Congress, even offering him some “free litigation advice.” The former prosecutor turned congressman was surgical in his questioning of Professor Charles Tiefer, who was brought before the House Judiciary Committee as an expert witness by Democrats — Tiefer has a history of being of service to the Democratic Party, according to The Blaze. “Professor Tiefer, would you seat a juror who referred to your client as an obscene body part?” Gowdy asked in his opening question.

For the first time ever, the average price for a kilowatthour (KWH) of electricity in the United States has broken through the 14-cent mark, climbing to a record 14.3 cents in June. ... Back in June 1984, the seasonally adjusted price index for electricity was 103.9—less than half what it was in June 2014. Electricity prices have not always risen in the United States. The BLS has published an annual electricity price index dating back to 1913. It shows that from that year through 1947, the price of electricity in the United States generally trended down, with the index dropping...

Dead bodies of illegal immigrants are turning up in south Texas as Central Americans pour across the U.S.-Mexico border, and a veterinarian who ranches cattle 70 miles from ground zero has the photos to prove it. Dr. Mike 'Doc' Vickers of Brooks County, Texas showed some of the grisly images to MailOnline, all of them far too grotesque to publish unedited. One picture shows a corpse propped up against a tree near his ranch in Brooks County, his eyes missing and dried blood cascading down his shirtless body. 'This guy, obviously, had to lay down up against that tree, and...
