SAN FRANCISCO, September 22, 2008 (LifeSitNews.com) - Last year, after horrified Americans bombarded the beer company with complaints, decision makers at the Miller Brewing Company chose to pull the company logo from an offensive advertisement for the Folsom Street Fair, an event which includes full nudity and public sadomasochistic sex acts.  Miller, however, has now flip-flopped on their decision and is once again endorsing the homosexual event, having paid for a full-page advertisement in the 2008 Folsom Street Fair Program Guide. The brewers landed themselves in hot water last Fall after their logo appeared on the highly controversial front page of the...

A year ago, Coors Brewing - before its new joint venture with Miller Brewing - unveiled the creation of tiny AC Golden Brewing Co. The upstart brewery would operate as a stand- alone brewer, with its own budget. The aim: Brew small-batch, handcrafted beers that would mimic the success of the parent company's popular Blue Moon Belgian White, a craft-style wheat ale. Fast-forward one year. The clock was nearing 7 on a recent Wednesday morning at the MillerCoors brewery here. Two brewers were preparing to make the fourth batch - roughly 30 barrels - of AC Golden's debut brew: Herman...

Political conventions are known for a certain conviviality which often spills into the local watering holes when all the floor speeches are finished. But this is taking beer-power to a whole new level: Our colleagues at The Stew report that the official General Motors vehicles at the Democratic National Convention - the ones shuttling delegates, candidates and the rest from place to place - will not only be running on flex-fuel, but also will get their ethanol from a uniquely Coloradan source: The Molson Coors Brewing Company.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper pulled Coors over after he saw him run a stop sign around the corner from his home in Golden about 11:25 p.m. on May 28. Well, it's become quite apparent that U.S. Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) is quickly making a name for himself among the ranks of the slandering, sensationalizing far left. Since I live in Colorado, covered the primaries and election that put Salazar into office, and know some of the principals personally, I thought my take might shed some light onto the underpinnings of this bizarre phenomenon. First, on April 25, 2005, Senator Ken Salazar (affectionately known as "Gollum" by Colorado conservatives) commented that Focus on the Family (FOTF), the organization founded by Dr. James Dobson, has relentlessly and unfairly attacked him. In...

Hopkins, 41, is suing American Eagle Distributing Co., saying the company wrongly fired him for drinking Coors in a bar two years ago. "They flat-out told me: 'We're putting food on your table so you could put it on theirs?"' he said Tuesday. "I thought I could drink it, no problem." Hopkins' lawsuit, filed in a Greeley, Colo., court, seeks unspecified damages for lost wages and benefits. No trial date has...

Ross Hopkins, 41, says he was fired as a supervisor at American Eagle Distributing Co. - a Budweiser distributor - after he was seen by the son-in- law of the company president with a bottle of Coors at a Greeley bar. Hopkins says he doesn't even like Coors that much and took a pull only because it was offered to him during $1 beer night.

When Democratic state chairmen gather in Florida next month to lick their wounds from the Nov. 2 election, their agenda will include a careful study of one bright spot in a generally sorry performance: Colorado, a solidly red state that went almost completely blue this year. Despite a large Republican advantage in registered voters and the popularity of President Bush, who carried the state easily for the second time, Colorado Democrats picked up a U.S. Senate seat and House seat that had been considered safe for the GOP. They reversed Republican majorities in the state House and Senate to take...

Despite my strong support for Keyes, arguably the most eloquent spokesman on social issues, I as a conservative was disenfranchised (and so were many other Illinois Republicans) when my selection for the party nominee in the March primary was not permitted to replace Jack Ryan on the ticket. Ken Salazar's campaign plan put him in position to overcome a GOP voter-registration edge and beat out Republican Pete Coors for Colorado's U.S. Senate seat. Coors, a political neophyte, entwined himself with the policies and rhetoric of President Bush, stressing tax cuts, a strong national defense and "conservative Colorado family values." Attorney General Ken Salazar has reclaimed a lead over beer magnate Pete Coors in Colorado's hotly contested battle for the U.S. Senate. In the final Rocky Mountain News/News 4 poll before Election Day, 48 percent said they would vote for Salazar, the Democrat, while 42 percent said they would choose the Republican, Coors. Those numbers, produced in polling Monday through Wednesday by Public Opinion Strategies, show a reversal from that firm's survey conducted Oct. 13 though 15, which gave Coors a 45-40 edge. Why Colorado on 9-21? This was the first time the GOP tried out its new 72-hour get-out-the-vote program. Both primary races were roughly competitive. Neither race was close. Salazar took 73% of the Democrat vote, Coors took 60%. Thus, we would expect both sides to participate equally enthusiastically.

Ken Salazar for U.S. Senate A proven record of service October 9, 2004 We have 18 reasons for supporting Ken Salazar's quest to become Colorado's next U.S. senator. They are the 18 years he's been in public service in this state. During that time - first as legal adviser to Gov. Roy Romer, then as head of the Department of Natural Resources and finally as attorney general - Salazar has consistently displayed the sort of pragmatic, sensible judgment that will serve him well in the nation's capital. Salazar is a Democrat, yet over the past two decades he's worked with...

SurveyUSA says that Amendment 36 is heavily supported by Democrats, so it is highly unlikely that 36 will pass unless Kerry wins Colorado. The irony of ironies.

WASHINGTON -- While it would take a Kerry victory of enormous proportions to cause the House of Representatives to restore Democratic control, the Senate is a far different matter. There are enough Senate seats at play that if Democrats get all the breaks, they could well end up controlling that body again. Some years one party or the other gets almost all of the breaks. That is why, although political analyst Stu Rothenberg says the Republicans still have a slight edge, it is simply impossible to say that Democratic control is out of the question. In fact, it is very...

Democrats slowly behind GUEST OPINION By JOHN BRUMMETT October 1, 2004 While the rest of you have stewed over the presidential race, I've looked into whether the Democrats might take back the U.S. Senate or the Republicans might increase their lead to something so formidable as to be nearly immune to filibuster and veto. The answer is yes. The Democrats might. The Republicans might. It's that fluid, that wild. And it might be more important to the course of public policy than the presidential outcome. Here are the numbers: The Republicans control the Senate by 51-48-1. If the Democrats could...

Vice President Dick Cheney told supporters in Denver after Thursday night's presidential debate that it has never been more clear who should be making life-and-death decisions on national security. The president "is absolutely committed to taking offensive action whenever it's necessary in order to defend the United States of America," Cheney said, in contrast with Kerry's support for pre-emptive action "as long as it passed some kind of global test." "We will never seek a permission slip to defend the United States of America," Cheney added, to the cheers of a few hundred invited guests - many of them campaign...

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 End game Posted: September 29, 20041:00 a.m. Eastern By Hugh Hewitt © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com With 34 days left before the election, the campaigns for the United States Senate around the country are making their final ad buys and preparing for their last mail drops. The GOP stands in pretty good shape, but needs a strong close in nine states to make a huge difference in the United States Supreme Court battles of next summer. If John Thune, Richard Burr, Pete Coors, Tom Coburn, Bill Jones, George Nethercutt, Mel Martinez and Jim DeMint join Lisa Murkowski in the...
