Via RCP, I wanted to give you a longer clip but the audio’s shoddy on the only one I can find. Too bad. It was, says Politico, a Woodstock moment. If Copenhagen is the enviros’ Woodstock, then Gore is The Who, the Grateful Dead and Creedence Clearwater Revival as a one-man band. The former vice president drew such a big crowd that security had to shut down access, with hundreds of unhappy activists left outside…Moeller also quoted the 19th century conservative British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, saying that “to be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to...

Dr. William Gray, a renowned long range hurricane forecaster and Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University wrote an op-ed for ClimateDepot.com on Tuesday. Dr. William Gray. Image courtesy of the Colorado State University. Gray states that the last century's global warming of about 1 degree F is not a consequence of human activities. This warming is primarily the result of a multi-century changes in the globe's deep ocean circulation. The recent 'ClimateGate' revelations coming out of the UK University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming...

A Yale freshman who called himself the Dauphin is believed to have terrorized his peers with death threats, ritualistic vandalism, and a hit and run accident. Among his rumored loot: Secret society video footage, which has since surfaced on YouTube. The video, uploaded by new YouTube user Dauphinish and caught first by IvyGate, looks like it could belong the vaunted secret society that counts three generations of Bushes as its members. Unfortunately, vaunted secret societies don't really have publicists, so it's hard to confirm. (Yalies, take a stab in comments?) There are gothic

If our new Nobel winner isn't a game-changer, summit fails, global wars by 2030 ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- Obama the game-changer saves Copenhagen? Uses his new Nobel "Just War" doctrine, takes command, unifies world in a "Just War" on climate change, the biggest economic issue facing the world in the 21st century?Maybe, maybe not. But if he doesn't, Copenhagen fails. America is the game-fixer in the do-nothing scenario. Worse: Population growth will eventually outstrip depleting resources. Without a long-term economic strategy and a leader, we may not survive into the next century. Yes, if Obama's "Just War" doctrine becomes...

Earlier this month, The Center for Public Integrity (CPI) released a sobering, detailed series of reports--compiled over nine months of research--on the problem of campus rape. The report, Sexual Assault on Campus: A Frustrating Search for Justice, included detailed accounts of individual experiences on campuses around the country, as well as statistics and analysis aggregating broader trends. All three parts of the study, culled from interviews with 48 experts on the disciplinary process, 33 women who reported being raped on campus, surveys of over 150 crisis centers, and 10 years of claims filed against universities, are well worth a serious...

The facts are that this "theology" is not black in the sense of skin color. It is black in that its source is hell's caverns. It is not liberating. It is binding and imprisoning. It is not theology in the legitimate definition. It is cultic writ for poor, duped disciples who don't know the Bible well enough to counter the hoax.

COPENHAGEN -- George Soros arrived on the scene here yesterday to once again save us from ourselves. The guy has tons of money and has no doubt whatsoever that global warming is cooking the planet and that it's all the fault of human industry and innovation. But, as usual, he wants you and me paying for this boondoggle. Not surprising from a guy like Soros, who has never created anything. It's almost like "Revenge of the Nerds." Only now, when all the rules of nature are suspended to accommodate quack science, can all the losers finally sink their loser teeth...

Obamas Won't Celebrate Christmas A survey of adult Americans finds that an overwhelming majority prefer the seasonal expression "Merry Christmas." More than seven out of ten, in fact. Twenty-two percent, according to Rasmussen Reports, go for "Happy Holidays." However, the Obamas, who won't spend their first December holidays in the White House, apparently don't like either one. The Obamas have just mailed thousands of greeting cards that say simply, "Season's Greetings." They're cream-colored, maroon-bordered cards showing a gold wreath wrapped around the presidential coat of arms. The Obamas' card, paid for by the Democratic National Committee, makes no religious reference...

The United States has become a nation of "non-tinkerers," a new survey shows. In a poll of 1,000 U.S. adults, nearly six in 10 said they had never made or assembled a toy. Twenty-seven percent had not made or built even one item from a list of eight common projects, including furniture and a flower box. Sixty-percent avoided handling major household repairs, opting to hire someone to do the work for them, according to the survey from the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association. It's worrisome, according to the association, because the "hands off" policy around the house has led young people...

Dairyland Greyhound Track owners announced Friday night the details of a plan in which each kennel operator would be given $5,000 as a way of making sure every dog is safely removed after the track closes for good. The cash offer to each kennel operator - there are 12 kennels at the Kenosha track housing hundreds of dogs - was made after negotiations between track owners and state regulators. The dogs must be moved out by Feb. 5, 2010. The track is shutting down after races on Dec. 31.Earlier this week, concerns had been raised by representatives of greyhound adoption...

The bottom line at the Copenhagen Climate Conference is the same bottom line found in every Obama proposal -- the redistribution of wealth from you to anybody else the government designates. "Redistribution of Wealth" has been the holy grail of one world levelers for over 150 years. At Copenhagen, the same folks who failed to impose a "New World Order" through international communism, and who have also failed (so far) to impose world government through the U.N., believe they have the right formula at last. The plan is simple. Hijack the science of climatology; hype evidence that the earth is...

Trotwood, OH (AHN) - The Wright-Patterson Bomb Squad was deployed to Trotwood Wednesday after a family stumbled upon explosives in a house. The family was cleaning out a house left behind by a relative who recently died when they found the explosives. The bomb squad removed what they described as military explosives from the home and took them to a nearby horse park, where it was virtually deserted. The team then detonated the devices. Officials said there were a lot of military explosives in the house, including smoke bombs. The bomb squad chose an area where winds would not blow...

In a little noticed interview last week, former Vice-President Dick Cheney accused Barack Hussein Obama of treason. Chris Matthews’ Harball news hour featured Cheney’s comments under the title: “Dick Cheney accuses Obama of treason.” But the actual comments were made by Cheney on Count Down with Keith Olbermann: Cheney’s actual words were in regard to Holder’s decision, at Obama’s request, to move the trial of the 9/11 conspirators to New York City. Cheney’s words were: “I think we are going to give aide and comfort to the enemy. “I think it will make Kalid Shek Mohammend something of a hero...

Toronto, Canada (AHN) - A Toronto woman is currently in jail for being a witch. The charge of practicing witchcraft goes back to 1892 in Canada's Criminal Code. The charges were filed against Vishwantee Persaud, 36, in November, according to reports. On top of that she also faces fraud charges. Persaud allegedly gained the confidence of a criminal lawyer who said he gave her almost $150,000 to be his legal assistant. Noel Daley said he paid the woman a salary to help him with business ventures which never came to fruition, help with legal preparation and cancer treatments. She also...

Operation Enduring Freedom, on Oct. 7 will begin its ninth year. At $4 billion per month, a National Priorities Project has determined that the total cost of military operations in Afghanistan by the end of the year will be almost $200 billion. From Tiger Wood's personal website: Hey, Tiger, I was just wondering if you and your wife ever go out on dates? I mean, I never see you out in People magazine, and I know the paparazzi are everywhere! I think Elin and I have avoided a lot of media attention because we're kind of boring. When we do go out, we like to go to the movies. When we go for dinner, it's usually at the same few restaurants. Mostly, people are very nice and just want to say hi. (New climate-friendly cremation method uses water and lye to transform human remains into 200 gallons of liquid fertilizer.) There are an awful lot of people on the planet, and modern methods for disposing of human remains aren’t exactly earth-friendly. A new alternative to cremation and burial could change that — and even increase food production for those still living — if we can get past the ‘ick factor’ of liquefying our dead relatives. "Resomation" is the process of disposing of human corpses through alkaline hydrolysis, which occurs when the body is sealed inside a vault-like tube filled with water and...

Forget zero-energy homes, which produce their own power and are carbon-neutral. The Germans are taking green building to the next step with so-called “triple-zero” homes, which both create enough energy to power themselves and have enough energy left over to send back to the grid. German architect and engineer Werner Sobek’s triple-zero homes are entirely energy self-sufficient, produce zero emissions and are made entirely of recyclable materials like glass, according to a recent article in Scientific American. So far, Werner Sobek’s firm of engineers and architects has built six of these homes, all in Germany, with a seventh planned for...

(New review on carnivorous flora suggests that a number of plants previously thought innocent may actually be murderous...) That's according to a new review on carnivorous plants which suggests that a number of commonplace, garden-variety plants like petunias and potatoes deserve to be classified as meat-eaters just like the Venus flytrap and pitcher plants. The review looked at all the research so far on carnivorous plants and found that what constitutes carnivory in plants has historically been vague and loosely defined. While only a handful of flora directly digest the bugs they catch, a wide variety of other plants possess...

Foxy Knoxy: The Troubling Doubts Over Amanda Knox's Role in Meredith Kercher's Murder By TOM RAWSTORNE 09th December 2009 The small hours of Saturday morning and a cell door slams shut on Amanda Knox, the American sentenced to 26 years in prison for the murder of Meredith Kercher. But in terms of closure, that is pretty much as far as it goes. Despite the verdict of the Italian jury last week, there remain more questions than answers as to how the 21-year-old Briton met her gruesome death while studying in Perugia. In the days that have followed Knox's conviction, an...

The recent appearance of a racist image of the First Lady Michelle Obama during a search on Google's search engine raises an interesting question: Should search engines have a conscience? Obviously, search engines, like Google, Bing, and Yahoo!, that rely on highly complex algorithms to determine search results, have no intentional bias or inclinations that influence their searches. To suggest otherwise would be to anthropomorphize what is simply an immense and complicated set of computer code. But that code is a creation of its individual developers and team of developers, each of whom has a conscience. And it is also...

So what, in Public Editor Clark Hoyt’s judgment, would make a “three-alarm story”? In his evaluation of the New York Times’ coverage of the Climategate scandal, he offers this example (via Jazz Shaw): Why didn’t The Times put the e-mail on its Web site? And, most important, is The Times being cavalier about a story that could change our understanding of global warming? Or, as The Times’s John Broder, who covers environmental issues in Washington, put it, “When does a story rise to three-alarm coverage?” …The biggest question is what the messages amount to — an embarrassing revelation that scientists...

As multinational military forces have left Iraq, international petroleum companies have eagerly descended -- seduced by the long-term potential of vast oil reserves off-limits to foreigners for decades. Yet lingering violence, legal questions and political uncertainty make doing business in this country a gamble. In the first international oil auction held last June, widely seen as a failure, the Iraqi government awarded a firm contract to only a consortium of British Petroleum and the China National Petroleum Co. to further develop the Rumaila field over 20 years. Iraq recently forged an initial agreement with a group comprising Exxon Mobil and...

History was made about ten days ago in Vienna at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency when China and Russia voted along with the United States to sanction the Islamic Republic of Iran over its continued pursuit of nuclear energy. Iran, it is believed, intends to develop the technology to produce weapons of mass destruction. So say Western nations. Iran, of course denies all such accusations, claiming its nuclear program is intended solely for peaceful purposes. What is “historic” in this context is the fact that both Russia and China saw eye to eye with the United States...

Apple Bans Another Developer, 1000+ Apps Pulled by Greg Kumparak on December 7, 2009 As the old mantra goes, “Cheaters never prosper”. In this digital age, it may be time to revise that saying. Granted a veil of anonymity by the Internet, cheaters surely prosper from their cheating; it’s just that when they get caught, they go down hard. Alas, “Cheaters may temporarily prosper – but if they get caught, they’re totally boned” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. Such was the case earlier today, when the development company behind over 1,000 iPhone applications was busted scamming the...
