Sacramento, Calif., Jul 31, 2019 / 05:01 pm (CNA).- Three California bishops are calling on local Catholics to pray and fight against a bill that would require state colleges and universities to provide free access to abortion pills for students. The bill, SB 24, is a slightly-amended version of a bill introduced in California’s state legislature last year that was ultimately vetoed. Former Governor Jerry Brown, a public supporter of abortion, vetoed the similar bill last September, saying it was was “not necessary,” as abortion services are already “widely available” off campus. California’s current governor, Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, said...
  • Kristan Hawkins: Colleges should run from ‘dangerous,’ costly abortion drugs on campus

Risk-averse college and university campuses in recent years have looked at all kinds of programming that has the potential to put students in harm's way, from cybersecurity to Greek life. Consider the rolled-back support for fraternities following hazing incidents and reports of racist conduct. Just this year, a student death at the University of California, Irvine, lead to a fraternity suspension. With schools counting the costs of things like fraternities or credit card marketing on campuses, the renewed push to force all California college and university health care centers to distribute chemical abortion drugs is hard to fathom. Just last...

AUSTIN, Tex. - A small crowd of gun-rights advocates and those supporting Texas' new, less restrictive campus-carry law gathered near the University of Texas campus here on Saturday for a highly publicized but divisive demonstration and mock shooting in favor of ending gun-free zones. **SNIP** Organizers said they expected at least 20 people - and possibly many more - for the event, which took place as Texas colleges and universities prepared to put into place a new state law permitting adult owners of licensed guns to carry them inside campus buildings. Jason Orsek, a 38-year-old construction manager who planned to...
  • Scott Walker Doesn’t Need a Degree — and Neither Do You - Many great job applicants lack a degree

The pundit class is raising questions about whether Scott Walker’s lack of a college degree disqualifies him from being America’s 45th president. This is what educators call a “teachable moment,” because the issue goes much deeper than Governor Walker’s biography. Of course a college credential shouldn’t be a prerequisite for the presidency, but that’s also true for many jobs that today require a degree even when it’s not really necessary. That’s a big problem. Many American leaders are obsessed with college as the path to economic opportunity. President Obama, for instance, wants America to lead the world in college graduates...

Sorry to bother you, but I need a little help. My wife (Happy Mother's Day) is a pre school teacher, and wants to have a collage made of pictures of her class of 15. Her idea is to have a horizontal oval of the entire class in the center of the page, then small, individual pictures of the students (head shots) surrounding it. I have Jasc Paint Shop Pro v9, which I am sure would do it, but I am not that well versed in using those sophiticated programs, and I am ubder a time constaint. In searching google, there...

In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9. The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy. Even though a woman is abused she can not obtain a divorce. To prove rape, the woman must have four male witnesses.
  • The Hidden Impact Of Political Correctness

It's easy to think of Universities as a circus for wacky professors; their semi-monthly comparisons of Bush to Hitler or indictments of inherent American racism are hard to miss. Universities' deviations from traditional education are far more serious than a few zany radicals, though. Something far more significant overshadows this ranting, namely how PC invisibly sanitizes instruction to avoid "offending" certain easy-to-anger students. This is the dog that does not bark - "safe lecturing" to use the STD vocabulary - and seldom recognized since it concerns what is not taught, and as such deprives students of a genuine education... Let...

Well, I wasn't totally 100% sure that that collage of pictures used to make a portrait of President Bush's face was made up of fallen US soldiers. I guess I'm still not 100% totally absolutely sure, but today's bit of wisdom on Moore's site is simply a long list of names followed by May they rest in peace. And may they forgive us someday. -- Michael Moore Plus, he finally titled yesterday's "post" THE WAR PRESIDENT. Should we check the list of names for duplicates? As I pointed out yesterday, the image of Bush is made up of 1410 individual...

What I learned at San Francisco State University (SFSU) After everything that happened today I decided to take a minute and reflect back on the things I've learned about liberals while at SFSU. I'll never forget these things. Every day they remind me why I'm a REPUBLICAN. -They walk out of school because of how bad they want to go to school -They don't understand that you can't go to school when you're dead -They think if they whine loud enough people will start to agree with them -They hate the cops and military, but want more government in their...
