Media Bias: Not long after pro football welcomed a convicted felon back on the playing field, Rush Limbaugh is dropped for his opinions from a group seeking to buy an NFL franchise. Won't someone throw a flag? When even Keith Olbermann says back off, you know the politically correct critics of the conservative icon and megaradio talk host's proposed part ownership of the St. Louis Rams are guilty of piling on. The prospect of the leading conservative voice in America participating in the purchase of a football team sent the liberal elites into cardiac arrest and into a frenzied campaign...

No knock on his "good friend" Jeff Bewkes -- or on Superman -- but Ted Turner wishes that he was running Time Warner so that he could make some changes at Cartoon Network and CNN, the cable news channel he founded 29 years ago. At CNN, he wants "less fluffy news and more international news," especially about China, Turner says in an interview set to run on Bloomberg TV on Friday. "Less talk, more news," he says. As for Cartoon Network, Turner tells anchor Betty Liu, "If I had control of it, I'd put 'Captain Planet' on at a top...

Here is what is phony. Rick Sanchez quoted Rush Limbaugh on CNN and the quote was fabricated. The racially insensitive quote attributed to Limbaugh was made up on the internet and not uttered by Rush. Sanchez has refused to apologize for using the quote in a hit job on Limbaugh designed to destroy Limbaugh’s bid for the St. Louis Rams. Here is what is real. Rick Sanchez ran over a man and left the guy for dead

NY Times' Brian Stelter reports that CNN anchor Lou Dobbs recently met with FNC/FBN chairman Roger Ailes and could be entertaining ideas of leaving CNN and moving Fox Business Network: Mr. Dobbs, an administration critic who calls himself an independent, met for dinner with Roger E. Ailes, the chairman of Fox News, last month, according to two people with direct knowledge of the meeting. One of the people said Mr. Dobbs is a potential hire for the Fox Business Network, the ratings starved, two-year-old spin-off of Fox News. Mr. Ailes has shown willingness to raid other networks for Fox Business...

Is Fox News Channel president Roger Ailes about to score another big name personality for his fledgling off-spin business channel? According to The New York Times television and digital media reporter Brian Stelter, News Corp's (NASDAQ:NWS) Fox Business Network is considering adding CNN "Lou Dobbs Tonight" host Lou Dobbs to its lineup. ...more...

The irony in this story is so delicious, as NewsBusters' Noel Sheppard would probably describe it, that one must take a bit of time to savor it.Yesterday, Sheppard posted a story about White House communications director Anita Dunn whining at length on Howard Kurtz's "Reliable Sources" about how supposedly unfair Fox News is. Her appearance on that show was instigated by Dunn's complaints about White House coverage by Fox News in a Time magazine story by Michael Scherer. Among her attacks upon Fox News was the assertion that it wasn't a real news network "the way CNN is." Well, Michael...

White House blasts Fox News: 'Wing of the Republican Party' By Eric Zimmermann - 10/11/09 11:50 AM ET Fox News is simply "a wing of the Republican Party," a top White House aide said today. Appearing on CNN this morning, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said Fox News exists simply to further the agenda of the GOP. "Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party," Dunn said. This is the second time in a week that Dunn has blasted Fox. She was quoted in Time Magazine on Thursday blasting...

Here was a chance for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. to admit he was wrong, and to conclude publicly that government intervention in the private sector doesn't always result in the best of outcomes. McCain appeared on CNN's Oct. 11 "State of the Union" in a pre-recorded interview and was asked by host John King if the lackluster recovery of the economy warranted more government intervention. "The president has said he's considering new initiatives to help job creation," King said. "They passed one stimulus plan and most Republicans, including John McCain, have been pretty critical of this $787-billion stimulus passed early...

"After reviewing hundreds of hours of 'Shark Week' footage and consulting with leading ichthyologists, CBS News can now confirm that the so-called 'Land Shark' made famous on 'Saturday Night Live' is a hoax," Katie Couric assured viewers. Meanwhile, over on MSNBC, the crack news team continued its in-depth exposé on "SNL's" faked assassination of the Little Rascals' Buckwheat. Sleuths working for The New York Times revealed that not only was John Belushi not an Olympic decathlete, but his touted regimen of cigarettes and "little chocolate donuts" was, according to experts in sports medicine, "not even remotely nutritious." Meanwhile, a report...

I have no words to express the rage I have with this treasonous administration and their stupid media supporters! These kids have no clue how they are being used to LIE to the AMERICAN people and how they are being used to destroy their own future! Prison isn’t good enough for Obama, CNN, or those who practice Chicago politics!

Willie NAILS IT with his comments. Just about every blog out there has now posted this video from CNN yesterday from the “Ron Clark Academy kids” … but other than Allah at Hot Air … most failed to post the best part. It comes about 20 seconds in. Once again it’s little Willie who stands apart from the rest. Remember Willie is the young man, the only one in the group, who last fall said he would be voting for McCain. Listen to him here and remember … the song they wrote and are about to sing is PRO Obama...

Is this REALLY America? How far are today's media willing to go to advance President Obama's cult of personality? What happened on CNN Monday has to make one wonder, for some producer at this cable network thought it would be cute to bring school kids on the set to sing an astonishingly propaganda-laden song about ObamaCare. Maybe most disgraceful, it seems quite unlikely any of these kids understood the lyrics they were singing.

Students from the Ron Clark Academy sing in support of President Obama's health care overhaul legislation - in the CNN studio, with lyrics displayed for viewers at the bottom of the screen. Singing to the tune of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA," students from the Ron Clark Academy appeared in the CNN studio to perform in support of President Obama's health care initiatives. "Obama says everyone needs health care now," they sang. The performance, carried on CNN and complete with follow-along scrolling lyrics at the bottom of the television screen for viewers, appeared to echo an earlier indoctrination incident...

Can one even imagine CNN fact checking any of the skits SNL on President Bush or Sarah Palin?? Heaven forbid SNL finally make fun of President Obama. CNN couldn't help themselves. They actually fact checked the jokes. Let’s bring in CNN's Kareen Wynter. She’s checking the facts for us. All right, Kareen, what are you finding out? KAREEN WYNTER: Hi there, Wolf. Well, some observers say- sure, we are just talking comedy here, but that, on many points- well, SNL couldn’t have been more off the mark. WYNTER (voice-over): A cold open for the country’s commander-in-chief. FRED ARMISEN (as Barack...

Larry King Live featured a long session with Ann Coulter and Kiki McLean Wednesday night.During the interview, King asked Coulter about the recent Saturday Night Live skit about Obama running through a check list of his failures as president and whether this was the beginning of a trend of media criticism of Obama.Ann said Michelle Obama would turn on Obama before Saturday Night Live would and that the skit was good fun.She then noted that websites like Free Republic were criticizing CNN for fact-checking the comedy skit.Check this link later for CNN's transcript of the show.

On Sunday, I wrote about how pleased I was to see "Saturday Night Live" taking on President Obama with almost the same intensity that it satirically took on President Bush, Senator McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin last fall. While I thought the impersonation could use some work, I felt the writing was excellent, and did a fine job of challenging President Obama in a way that much of the mainstream media haven't. Well, along comes CNN fact-checking the satire -- something they didn't do last fall when such satire was shredding Palin and Bush..... more

CNN is receiving criticism, of many different kinds from many different places, for a segment Monday on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." The segment "fact-checked" a Saturday Night Live sketch. The sketch, which has been deemed the show's first viral hit of the season, cataloged Pres. Obama's supposed lack of accomplishments. The Wall Street Journal's James Taranto called the idea "a bizarre exercise." The Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik wrote, "Fact checking a comedy sketch -- I will say no more." FNC's Greg Gutfeld showed the clip on Red Eye and joked, "Seriously, reviewing an 'SNL' skit for accuracy is...

Beck is completely right here. He is a bit upset that the MSM spends their time digging at his past rather then reporting on the issues he has been so right about. Van Jones? Yup, hit the nail on the head. Acorn? Yup, hit the nail on the head. (h/t Hot Air) [VIDEO AT SITE] But what does our MSM do? They fact check.....FACT CHECK....a Saturday Night Live skit. Here is video of CNN "fact-checking" SNL's Obama "do nothing" skit. CNN's Kareen Wynter reported "some observers say sure we are just talking comedy here, but on many points SNL couldn't have been more off the mark." CNN talked to Bill Adair who said "this is not a fair portrayal of how Obama's done, but it's comedy it doesn't have to be fair." (Video)

Via Greg Hengler. Heaven forbid that the average half-drunk late-night Saturday TV viewer be “misinformed” about our savior by a comedy show reminding them that health care’s “not done” (which it isn’t) and that Afghanistan’s gotten worse this year (which it has). Even if you want to clap Obama on the back for keeping his promise to send more troops, might it not perhaps be worth mentioning that he’s currently rethinking the entire “war of necessity” mindset on which he campaigned? Let’s see if you can guess how the segment ends. Think: Media outlet is in the tank, subject is...

Like other GOP leaders, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele took a harsh tone toward ACORN last month after several of the group's employees were caught on tape offering financial advice to activists posing undercover as a pimp and prostitute. On September 15, after the Senate voted to defund the community organizing group, Steele released a statement accusing ACORN of "nefarious activities," saying it uses "illegal means to achieve its ends." A few days later, on September 24, Steele called for congressional Democrats to investigate the "corrupt organization" and said damage control efforts by ACORN officials were "insulting." But during...

What vexes me is CNN's constant drumbeat of reports on Chicago crime - and specifically two teen murders - in the very week before the vote and leading right up to the day of the IOC vote. It seemed like CNN was trying to influence the vote to me, even mentioning the Olympics in their segments on the Chicago crime problem. Moreover, CNN failed to mention the crime issue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio has a huge drug and crime problem called "critical" and puts it in direct competition if not worse than Chicago. With all this why no...

After flying through the night for seven hours aboard Air Force One, nobody would blame President Obama for being at least slightly groggy when he arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a quick four hours to make the final pitch for Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics. Maybe that explains why the president seemed to snag the silver medal while first lady Michelle Obama, who's been in Copenhagen a couple of days, clearly took the gold with an emotional speech focused on her family's roots in the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, and her late father's battle with multiple sclerosis.

Our communist enemies at CNN have no choice but to recognize Sarah Palin’s upcoming book is breaking new records. Their pain is my pleasure. On the 1st day of the announcement and within hours it has shot to number 1 at Barnes and Nobles and number 2 at Amazon. What is so unusual is that it has not been released. I provided the links to pre-order her book. Palin's book shoots to No. 1: CNN – Sarah Palin's 432 page memoir isn't set to be released for more than seven weeks, but the highly anticipated tell-all has already shot to...

It’s been five days since questions were raised about the White House’s apparent desire to create a Department of Propaganda by leveraging Government funding for the NEA to create art that will push the administration’s agenda for Health Care. A cursory search on CNN and MSNBC’s website show no stories about this by either “news” organizations. ABC and CBS both did one story about the scandal, but nothing since Yoshi Sergent, one of the key players in the conference call, resigned late last week from the White House. Read more HERE

It is quite rare for UFO sightings to be reported on the mainstream media, especially CNN, but this one managed to obtain a few minutes of airtime. Brad Denning's son received a call from his friend to look up into the sky, because there were some strange lights to be seen. Brad Denning rushed into his home to get his camera and started to record the event (he then contacted CNN) Apparently, the four lights were in a line to begin with, but later changed formation. However, they remained in one area. Denning mentioned that a plane flew near the...

CNN’s Larry King fawned over Michael Moore during an hour-long interview on his program on Wednesday, calling the leftist’s latest feature “a brilliant documentary,” and went on to label the director “our number one propagandist.” King encouraged all of his viewers to see Moore’s “Capitalism: A Love Story,” which was released in New York City and L.A. earlier that day. The CNN anchor led his 9 pm Eastern program with his gush over the apparent magnificence of Moore and his latest documentary: “I’ve seen this movie, and I’ll tell you, whether people agree or disagree with it- and there will...

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez spent nearly seven minutes yesterday blasting Fox for its print ad claiming that the other networks missed last Saturday's tea party protest, when in fact, NBC, ABC, CBS, and CNN all covered it. In fact, as I noted yesterday, CNN had more than a dozen staffers on hand, including correspondent Lisa Desjardins who was heckled at the protest in a clip that got passed around on YouTube and even played on Fox this past week. Now the network has fired back in their own ad last night, which claims that Fox is "distorting not reporting." While...

Video Linky CNN ad responds to Fox ad's claim: "Fox News: distorting, not reporting" - 9/18/2009

On Friday’s Newsroom, CNN’s Rick Sanchez correctly pointed out that a full-page color ad by the Fox News Channel incorrectly claimed that his network missed the massive September 12 Tea Party rally in Washington, DC, but went on to paper over CNN’s own double-standard on covering left-wing protests versus conservative protests. Sanchez also accused Fox News of trying to “promote” the Tea Parties. During the segment, which began 13 minutes into the 3 pm Eastern hour, the CNN anchor seemed to be perturbed by Fox News’s ad, which ran in the Washington Post on Friday with one main line: “How...

CNN's Rick Sanchez goes at it with Fox News. "They are using a lie to try and divide people into camps," he says of the allegation CNN didn't cover the 9/12 rallies. A feud that is probably good for everyone involved.
