Colgate-Palmolive announced Wednesday it is voluntarily recalling 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso multipurpose cleaner over concerns about harmful bacteria. According to the company, a manufacturing error meant a preservative was not added "at the intended levels" to eradicate Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, bacteria that can cause serious infections in people with compromised immune systems and other preexisting health conditions. The recall impacts five varieties of scented Fabuloso manufactured between Dec. 14, 2022, and Jan. 23, 2023, including lemon, lavender and spring fresh. Some 3.9 million bottles -- about 80% -- were never released for sale to the public, Fabuloso...

Unfortunately, this post is going to be severely fragmented. Our apologies in advance. However, if anyone can clean up these videos please notify us ASAP in the comments. You’ll see what I mean. Earlier during our initial review of the debate we identified something that looked entirely suspicious because it is only evidenced for one specific candidate, and one specific lectern. We initially drew attention to it as “The Cleaner”: Well, this intrigue just got a whole lot more interesting. See “The Cleaner” at work here immediately following the debate:

Earlier during our initial review of the debate we identified something that looked entirely suspicious because it is only evidenced for one specific candidate, and one specific lectern. We initially drew attention to it as “The Cleaner”. Well, this intrigue just got a whole lot more interesting. See “The Cleaner” at work here immediately following the debate. The Cleaner has been identified as George Lewis, a former member of NBC staff. Here’s where it gets even more interesting. And again, unfortunately no-one is putting these disparate segments together into one cohesive story. First this video where something electronic is clearly...

The press has rather innocently been reporting that President Obama dispatched one of his closest aides, Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Nabors, to “help” and to “oversee” things at Veterans’ Affairs while officials get to the bottom of the widening scandal over VA clinic wait times that resulted in the deaths of veterans. There might be a coverup too. From the Washington Post: Rob Nabors, a White House deputy chief of staff, will work with the VA temporarily to help assess its practices and develop recommendations on how veterans’ hospitals can increase access to timely care, the White House announced Wednesday. In...

A cleaning woman stole an empty commuter train in a suburb of Stockholm and crashed it into a house, injuring herself, Swedish officials say. The four-carriage train was driven out of the depot for about a mile until it jumped the tracks, becoming wedged into a three-storey building. Police arrested a woman, who was flown to a Stockholm hospital with serious injuries. Nobody else was hurt. A railway official confirmed the woman in custody was an employee. "We have only heard good things about her," Tomas Hedenius, a spokesman for train operator Arriva, was quoted as saying by AP news...

(Reuters) - A fire that caused an estimated $400 million in damage to a U.S. Navy nuclear-powered submarine docked in Maine may have been caused by a vacuum cleaner, authorities said on Wednesday. The fire in the forward compartment - which includes crew living, command and control spaces and the torpedo room - of the USS Miami on May 23 took about 12 hours to extinguish and injured seven firefighters. "Preliminary findings indicate the fire started in a vacuum cleaner used to clean work sites at end of shift, and stored in an unoccupied space," the shipyard's public affairs office...

It's hard for his friends to hear this, but 13-year-old Scott MacMillan of Georgetown sometimes falls asleep with a vacuum cleaner in his arms. His mother, Barb, backs up his story. In fact, she says, when a tornado siren once sounded, Scott rounded up all his vacuum cleaners and hunkered down with them in the bathroom. That wasn't easy. Scott owns 150 vacuum cleaners. "I've been made fun of so much, it doesn't matter anymore," Scott says. "I collect vacuum cleaners. So what?" Scott is among 42 people - mostly adults - gathered at the Embassy Suites Central in North...

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – California on Friday became the first state in the country to force big diesel trucks to clean up their exhaust, despite warnings from truckers the new rules will force them out of business. About a million vehicles, from big rigs to school buses, are affected by the new rules, which will begin taking effect in 2011 and do not require further ratification. Some vehicles will have to start retrofitting engines in 2011 and some older trucks will be forced into retirement starting in 2012. By 2023, all trucks must meet 2010 new engine emission standards. The...

As the owner of a small dump truck business based in Dixon, I was trying to do my part to clean the air we all breathe by replacing my outdated truck with a cleaner model. Because the California Air Resources Board (ARB) is set to vote on a new regulation this December targeting diesel vehicles I wanted to be one step ahead. The proposed rule would impact the almost 1 million trucks and buses used to transport goods and people on California’s roads, highways and farms - including my dump trucks. Starting in 2010, this proposal would require every diesel...

Health Team 9 Psychologist, Dr. Steve O'Brien says new research suggests being consumed with cleanliness can have implications on physical and mental health. Dr. O'Brien says cleanliness is definitely healthy, but the more obsessed someone is with 'grime fighting,' the more likely the immune system is being weakened. He says a weakened immune system can mean people are more likely to get sick, have more problems with allergies and asthma. He says a weakened immune system can also trigger more problems psychologically like anxiety and depression. Consumed with cleanliness?

WASHINGTON - The Environmental Protection Agency is announcing strong new pollution controls on the nation's locomotives, ships and passenger ferries. They will have to cut soot by 90 percent and smog-causing chemical releases by 80 percent over the next six to seven years through technology improvements in locomotive and ship diesel engines. Those engines often operate for decades. The pollution improvements would be required of new engines as well as old when they are overhauled. The Associated Press has learned that EPA will announce the new requirements Friday in Washington. These requirements would be in addition to regulations already in...
