Today we are witnessing one of the most important events in political history. But you probably can’t see it because the news is talking about healthcare, and how Ryan and Trump totally failed to get enough votes. The real story is happening in parallel with the healthcare story, and that’s what renders it invisible.

So she eases out of bed and shuffles over to her desk, with its “giant-print” Bible and a magnifying glass within easy reach. She bends her 4-foot-10-inch frame toward her spiral notebook and begins to write. She was born on a farm in Kingston, Ark., in 1907. Four months after her birth, her father died. Phillips says she retired in 1972. But that’s not quite true. Into her late 90s, she continued to work in child care and elder care — clocking as many as 65 hours a week. She traveled widely — to Israel, Puerto Rico and the Philippines,...

Residents of Washington, D.C.’s ritzy Kalorama neighborhood are in an uproar over Ivanka Trump’s Secret Service detail taking up too many parking spots on the block. Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, recently moved into the Kalorama neighborhood with her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three young children, but the warm welcome they initially received is quickly wearing thin because of all the Secret Service SUVs, The Washington Post reports. Two “No Parking” signs were installed in front of the Trump-Kushner house. The real explosion, however, happened Monday after city workers put up two more “No Parking” signs right...

During the Senate confirmation hearings for Neil Gorsuch, several democrats suggested that Trump’s nominee was unfit to serve because he believes in the Constitution. Seeing as how the job of Supreme Court Justice is to determine the Constitutionality of things, this seems like a pretty bizarre argument, but democrats aren’t known for being rational. Speaking of which, California democrat Kamala Harris says she won’t be voting to confirm Gorsuch because he bases his decisions on the law instead of feelings. Harris tweeted out this stunning statement today: Judge Gorsuch has consistently valued legalisms over real lives. I won't support his...

(Angry Patriot) – During her tenure at Fox News, Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly were constantly at each other’s throats — often over her selfish attitude and need to make everything about her. So, it makes perfect sense that O’Reilly revealed that her nickname was “Me-Again” Kelly, via Washington Feed. According to O’Reilly, it was “always about Megyn,” which is not hard to believe. All of the drama surrounding Kelly is coming out in the open after she tore up her contract with Fox News, with some months still remaining on it. Kelly was on a break from Fox News...

The other days I got the munchies for peanut butter so I put some on bread and enjoyed it. I also like peanut butter in ice cream as well as cookies. Also I like peanut butter shakes. Okay, by now you guessed it...I like peanut butter. And I'm sure most of you do too. So my big question is why does most of the rest of the world HATE peanut butter while it is very popular with North Americans (Americans and Canadians)? I read that peanut butter is so hated by most of the rest of the world that once...

Folks, I am going to contact all of the members of the Freedom Caucus (Ken Buck is from my state) and personally THANK them for stopping the bill to tinker with Obamacare. I will also strongly encourage them to dust off one of the Obamacare repeal bills that was sent to President Obama and remind the other Republican members of the House of their prior voting record. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Caucus#Membership

I know that a large number of Freepers here are former military. Nobody has better or funnier stories about life than those recalling their military experience--especially Basic Training! I remember Reader's Digest used to have a monthly section that allowed readers to share their humorous military experiences. Is you were ever in the military, share your favorite story here!

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — A Canadian provincial government has withdrawn a man's eponymous personalized vehicle license plate, saying Lorne Grabher's surname is offensive to women when viewed on his car bumper. Grabher said Friday that he put his last name on the license plate decades ago as a gift for his late father's birthday, and says the province's refusal to renew the plate late last year is unfair.

The same people who just voted no on Paul Ryan's bill because it wasn't "conservative" enough, are the same people who voted to make Paul Ryan speaker of the House. Why? Was Ryan more conservative back then, then he is today? Did Ryan promise them something, in order to get their vote. Or is the FC just a bunch of hypocrites. I think honest people know the answer.

On November 8, 2016, the man I had been rooting for, and arguing for, and educating anyone who would listen to me for, was nominated the 45th president of the United States. It might as well have been a football game I was watching as I cheered and yelled, rooting for my guy as the states were called. When Trump took Florida, I knew it was over. My guy was winning. Against all the odds and all the naysayers and all the protesting degenerates, and the Hollywood elites’ multi-million dollar fundraisers for Clinton, my man Trump was taking this thing...

In two rooms of Charles and Lois O’Brien’s modest home in Tucson, Arizona, more than a million insects – a collection worth an estimated $10m – rest in tombs of glass and homemade shelving. They come from every continent and corner of the world, gathered over almost six decades; a bug story that began as a love story. He remembers the roaches fondly – “I fed them and they helped me eat” “It was sort of an Indiana Jones life for Charley,” Lois said. “It’s been a wonderful life for me

Got $1.5 million to spare? If so, tiny Reduction, a one-time company town built to house workers at a long-vanished garbage-processing plant in western Pennsylvania, could be yours for the asking. The aptly named town is home to 60 residents, down from 400 in its heyday. They live in 19 tidy brick houses, paying the Stawovy family, proprietors of the unincorporated village for the past 70 years. The asking price includes a one-room schoolhouse that was long ago converted into a duplex residence. The plant, built by American Reduction Co on a wide bend of the Youghiogheny River, shut down...
