Monday, 21 Dec 2009 12:11 PM Article Font Size By: James Hirsen Despite widespread public opposition to the current healthcare reform package, which is slated to be passed by the Senate on Christmas Eve, advocates have a new tool in their arsenal to court younger voters. Sex, what else? Rock the Vote, the celebrity weighted group that tries to reel in votes for Dems, recently released a video that encourages young folks to use sexual favors, or the withholding thereof, as a means of persuasion. Libs of the past made a career out of ridiculing abstinence programs. But some Rock...

Was Shakespeare A Secret Catholic? The Evidence Is Mounting… By Oliver Marre December 22nd, 2009 The Venerable English College in Rome has found documents which may suggest that Shakespeare was a secret Catholic who spent some years in the city. It’s only conjecture – but the news will certainly excite the large number of people who believe that the Bard was a Papist. Clare Asquith has written a compelling and brilliantly researched book which argues the same point from textual and historical analysis of the plays. Shadowplay is a great read for anyone interested in Shakespeare, in the religious wars...

The Case Against the Case Against the Virgin Birth Jeremy Lott Every year at about this time, readers can count on a few Christmas-themed articles appearing in newspapers and magazines that question the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ. It really is something to see the wide variety of people who get worked up over this ancient Christian belief. Scientific reductionists -- the Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins set -- will tell us that it's impossible. By definition, a virgin cannot be with child. Certain biblical scholars will be trotted out to poke holes in the dogma, by making points about the...

Like the play where Jim Marshall ran the wrong way for a touchdown, the Redskins will want to forget this trick play they attempted instead of kicking a last second field goal at the end of the first half of the MNF game against the New York Giants. Well, not only was the trick play botched, but as the play progressed it looked like it was a bunch of Pee-Wee Football kids running around the first for the first time. The Redskins fake field goal trick play almost ended up in a 95 yard interception return for a touchdown by...

I heard about it on the radio, this morning as Michelle Bachmann informed Glenn Becks’s sub, Chris Baker about the ACORN provision, one of the eleventh hour additions made behind closed doors. These Dems are absolutely brazen. Roland Burris is claiming credit: The provision he cites, found on pages 240 through 248 of the manager’s amendment, requires that six different agencies each establish an “Office of Minority Health.” The agencies are the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the...

I wrote this in 1997. While the world in which many of us spent our early years has been largely turned upside down and the aches and pains of growing older become more frequent and noticeable with each passing year, the root message of the birth we arbitrarily celebrate each December 25th is timeless. It is even more vital for fallen sinners who call themselves “Christians” -- especially THIS one -- to embrace that message. Please pray with me that – with God’s help – we can return America to her roots so that our grandchildren will have the peace...

Reading through my diary this Christmas, I came across this detail below. I reflected on that pain. Today, the pain is gone due to my son living for the Christ Child, evangelizing in His holy name, and overseeing his Christian home under God. It is amazing how such suffering can continue for years; but then free will explodes in heaven’s favor so as to filter out the anguish.

They got their nationalized health care bill and it only cost you $1.2 billion for their vote! My new son, Jeff, is out of jail, as of last February. Now this Christmas he put up the tree with his two children—Haley and Jeff Jr. I saw them last evening. When I walked into the house, there the three of them were sprawled across the living room floor playing a board game. Haley is 8. Jr. is 11. Jeff Sr. is 35.

This is a video that helps explain the mentality of news reporters. Check out this airhead news reporter doing a report on gun safety. The woman reporter in this video keeps pointing the loaded gun at the cameraman. Even after she fired a round down range at a target she looks at the camera and non nonchalantly shakes the gun with the barrel pointed towards the cameraman. Honestly, you cannot make this stuff up. Then, as if that part of the video is not bad enough, notice how the cameraman never seems to realize that his life is in danger....

Michael Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Post columnist, wrote an article today, entitled, "Dreading Our Future." An admitted Barack Obama voter, Goodwin expresses much more than just buyer's remorse. The anger, frustration, disappointment, shock, and fear he feels is communicated very clearly. The closest Goodwin comes to paying President Obama a compliment is, "he (Obama) has become an insufferable bore."

One of my favorite pastimes is fishing. Ever since I was a young boy growing up in Northern Minnesota, I have enjoyed the leisure sport of fishing. In the last 5 years I have taken up the sport of fly Fishing and found it to be even more enjoyable then fishing with a reel and worms. I have fished many rivers and in many states across this vast country, but I have never ventured outside of America to fish. I always thought that someday I might like to fish in Canada. Then after watching this video and seeing how they...

Now I know why I never have any luck in catching salmon. After watching this video i realize that I have been going about it all wrong. I usually leave my lab dog home because he just plays in the water and scares away the fish. Next time I'll bring him with and sit back with a beer as I watch him catch the salmon for me.Follow this link to see a yellow lab catching a huge salmon You will not be disappointed, trust me.

Small Business Tax & ToilSmall business owners, like myself, pay twice as much in Social Security and Medicare Taxes as regular employees. Yet when we ask for a payroll tax cut on our own pay, what we get from the government is a crackdown on regional banks to give us more loans. Aside from the fact that 140 of these banks have failed since January 16, 2009 (here), what Obama's Cluelessian economists fail to understand is that wealth is not created through amassing debt.If Obama wants to run the Federal Government based on the myth that wealth is created through...

Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, Judy Chu, Dennis Kucinich, Linda Sanchez, Jim McDermott and 54 other liberal Democrats in the House of Representatives have said that they will NOT vote yes for ObamaCare if it lacks a public option. The Senate version lacks a public option. If the 177 Republicans in the House hold firm and are joined by only 41+ liberal Dems, ObamaCare would not pass. Given how Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Howard Dean, Keith Olbermann, MoveOn.org, FireDogLake and many, many other liberals and liberal groups/organizations have really turned on ObamaCare, you can be certain that many (if not...

In a stone-age version of "Iron Chef," early humans were dividing their living spaces into kitchens and work areas much earlier than previously thought, a new study found. So rather than cooking and eating in the same area where they snoozed, early humans demarcated such living quarters. Archaeologists discovered evidence of this coordinated living at a hominid site at Gesher Benot Ya'aqov, Israel from about 800,000 years ago. Scientists aren't sure exactly who lived there, but it predates the appearance of modern humans, so it was likely a human ancestor such as Homo erectus.

Ok, now I have seen hunting dogs track down an animal, but this is the first time I have ever seen a dog catch a fish. And not just any fish, this dog is playing in the water, then he sees a salmon and chases it until he catches it. then he brings it to shore for his owner. Awesome must see video. Check out the yellow lab chasing down and catching a huge salmon

I like fishing just like anyone, but fishing on a frozen lake is not my idea of a good way to spend the afternoon. No sir, give me a fly rod and a nice river and I can fish all day long. Now these guys have found an interesting way to find out exactly where the fish in the lake are. I would not recommend it, but if you are from the extreme North, then I am sure you have either done it this way or at least contemplated it. Either way you really need to check out this video,...

This year has been the biggest yet for online video, and for the first time we're sharing our official Most Watched lists and some of the fastest-rising search terms on YouTube. Some moments were big (President Obama's inauguration), some small (a Minnesota wedding party erupts into dance), some expected ("New Moon"), some surprising (Susan Boyle) — but all of them inspired, entertained and connected millions of people around the world via YouTube. For these lists, we looked at view counts of YouTube's most popular videos this year (in some instances we aggregated views across multiple versions of the same video):...

In the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, Al Gore argues that historically, when the levels of carbon dioxide rises that is cause the temperatures of earth to rise considerably. In his documentary, Gore explains that ice core records from the distant past proves this point. However, when the data is looked at in finer detail, it becomes obvious that temperature is driving the hight levels of carbon dioxide not the other way around as Gore and his fellow watermelon political allies would like us to believe. I call them watermelon because they may be green on the outside, but they are...

‘And here’s the most outrageous part: at the end of this rush, they want us to vote on a bill that no one outside the Majority Leader’s conference room has even seen. That’s right. The final bill we’ll vote on isn’t even the one we’ve had on the floor. It’s the deal Democrat leaders have been trying to work out in private’ WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following remarks on the Senate floor Thursday regarding the importance of getting it right on health care reform: “Senators on both sides acknowledge that the health care...

WASHINGTON, DC – December 17, 2009 – In a prepared speech this afternoon, President Obama told reporters that he is fighting to overturn more than two centuries of freedom from monarchy and “a capitalist system that does not allow the commoner the chance to share in the riches of the business owner and the selfish.” “I am working hard to reverse the problems this nation faces as a result of over-throwing a lawfully hereditary monarchy in favor of the failed, “free” capitalist system we now have,” he said. A year is hardly enough time to make the corrections we need....

How dumb do they think we are? Reid and Pelosi say no deal, then the deal is in the bag, then no deal, then the deal is in the bag... How many times have we heard this? We now know when they get their picture (Reid or Pelosi) on Drudge and grab the NO DEAL headline that it means they will vote it in, in the middle of the night. I heard on the radio today that republicans will be in DC on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve as this is when the rats may sneak it in. That is ludicrous...

Kerry: Next 12 Hours Are Critical December 16, 2009 William La Jeunesse Sen. John Kerry says the next 12 hours of the Copenhagen would be critical to the success of the conference. But he hoped differences would be resolved, since success at the conference here is critical to passage of climate control legislation in the U.S. next year. The Massachusetts senator also attempted to explain why climate legislation is such a tough sell in the U.S. Congress. “Ninety-seven percent of new emissions in the next 20 years will come from developing nations,” he said, adding that by 2020 China’s emissions...

For the sake of brevity - straight to the point (pun intended). I have thought long about Huckabee's recent interview with Katie Couric. One of the topics that came up was Huckabee's view on same-sex marriage, and it was no accident that it came up. Huckabee's position on the issue of abortion is concrete - he is ardently pro-life. What remained was for him to effectively frame the same-sex marriage debate, and that he did. Quite effectively in fact. In short, he told Couric that he was pro-traditional marriage, not anti-same sex marriage. He said that it's not that he...

It should be pretty obvious that President Obama and his Dem-run congress want no part of what most of America is screaming for: A free republic with a smaller government footprint not the enormous one currently stomping anyone in its path. According to Rasmussen Polls, 71% of voters say they are angry at the government and 46% describe themselves as very angry. Reversals from the Obama 2008 juggernaut were huge in Virginia and leftist New Jersey , yet the Dems in charge don’t care. The leaders will knowingly sacrifice their own Dem Reps and Senators in upcoming races as long...

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with numerous women. I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer. Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me, I later wrote a book idolizing my father not my mother.

From the "just when you thought you'd seen everything file" comes the revelation that the National Education Association (NEA), the largest labor union in the United States, has an interesting book in its "Recommended Reading" section. That book is none other than Radical Marxist and Community Organizer, Saul Alinsky's, "Rule for Radicals." Barack Obama, the nation's leading radical "Community Organizer", corrupt ACORN, and Saul Alinsky's, "Rules for Radicals," have indivisible ties...
