During Thursday evening’s edition of Special Report on Fox News, Charles Krauthammer offered some backhanded praise of Donald Trump for leading a poll of presidential candidates people will not vote for. The real estate mogul leads the poll “with a deserved 59 percent,” the pundit told host Bret Baier. “[Trump] is going to say how sad it is that I’m saying these things,” Krauthammer continued. “But, you know, this is an open forum and we have free speech. He has a well-deserved and, I would say, an impressive 59 percent.”Uh-oh, you done poke the bear now!

On Tuesday’s “Special Report” during the show’s “All-Star Panel” segment, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to remarks from President Barack Obama claiming he was “the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat” in the Oval Office. Krauthammer expressed his confusion, but criticized Obama’s “personal hurt” and suggested he reevaluate his position on an Iran nuke deal. “I’m not sure I even understand what that means,” Krauthammer said. “But perhaps the judgment of Israelis, who 6 million of them are Jews, have a pretty good idea what a Jew is and more importantly have a pretty good ideal...

Big Guy advises the world - that remains blissfully unaware - that under his leadership "once again, the United States is the most respected country on earth." And tying for second place, for the third year in a row, was Iran - for their multiple advancements in human rights and nuclear arms control. Still, getting stoned in Iran isn’t the same thing as getting stoned in America Charles Krauthammer respectfully disagreed with Barry’s assessment, wondering simply “what planet he's living on.” Answer: Planet Obamaville Posted from: Michelle Obama’s Mirror

Hundreds of Hillary Clinton‘s emails were released today, something Clinton herself said she wants, but Charles Krauthammer doesn’t really buy this is some great victory for transparency and disclosure. “There isn’t a shred of evidence,” he said, “because she shredded the evidence. This whole release is a farce.” He pointed out that it’s not like every little email Clinton ever sent will be released to the public, only the ones ‘scrubbed and cleansed and decided upon, chosen by her own people, acting in her own interest.” And, Krauthammer added, it’s working, because the media is eagerly looking through “pre-scrubbed material”...
  • Ted Cruz, the only Republican arrogant enough to be president

Ted Cruz is intellectually arrogant, like Ronald Reagan. The difference is that Reagan masked his arrogance with self-deprecating humor. Sen. Cruz does a Reagan impression that would do a nightclub comedian proud, but he doesn’t have Reagan’s easy and spontaneous humor. One doesn’t think of Reagan as arrogant, but he was in fact the most arrogant leader we have had since Lincoln. He ignored the whole of the foreign policy establishment in his conviction that America stood to win the Cold War and bring down Communism. Then as now, the foreign policy establishment resembled Jonathan Swift’s scientists on the floating...

Gulf of Aden: Iran sends a flotilla of warships and weapons-carrying freighters to reinforce the rebels in Yemen — a noncontiguous, non-Persian, nonthreatening (to Iran) Arabian state — asserting its new status as regional bully and arbiter. The Obama administration sends an aircraft carrier group, apparently to prevent this gross breach of the UN weapons embargo on Yemen. Instead, the administration announces that it has no intention of doing anything. Meanwhile, it exerts pressure on Saudi Arabia to halt its air war over Yemen and agree to negotiate a political settlement involving Iran.

In addition to being a regular on Fox News and a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, Charles Krauthammer is also a board certified psychiatrist. So he presumably knows what he’s talking about when he discusses mental disorders and diseases. That’s why it was particularly interesting to hear Krauthammer’s use of the word “pathological” when describing President Obama’s sneering attack on Scott Walker in connection with the governor’s comments about the Iran nuclear agreement. The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines “pathological” as “extreme in a way that is not normal or that shows an illness or mental problem.” Video at source:

The blood is in the water. The game is afoot. And the Republicans are brawling. While Democrats are usually viewed as the undisciplined, fractious party, it is Republicans who sharpen their knives and slice each other up when the White House is at stake. The struggle is between two groups within the GOP. The establishment finally recognizes that the party must broaden its base. If the party appeals to only white, Christian conservatives, it will wind up as a regional party, capable of winning Senate and House seats but incapable of winning a national election. We must nominate a presidential...

The Obama presidency is fond of issuing apologies for America on the world stage, but very rarely makes them at home to Americans. White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer has just issued one to Washington Post columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer, who last week wrote an op-ed berating the Obama administration for removing a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office when it came to power. Pfeiffer had issued a stinging attack on Krauthammer, alleging that his Churchill bust reference was “100 percent false.” Krauthammer was of course 100 percent correct, and the British Embassy in...

Utah Sen. Mike Lee defended himself Tuesday against allegations that his point of order vote, which he earned in partnership with Sens. Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions, contributed to President Barack Obama being able to confirm more of his nominees through the outgoing Democratic Senate majority. “Look, I’ve got tremendous respect for Charles Krauthammer, but he does not have a crystal ball,” Utah Sen. Mike Lee said on the Laura Ingraham radio show.

The New Republic has quietly dropped at least five prominent Jewish writers from its masthead in a move that may signal the publication’s continued drift away from a staunchly pro-Israel standpoint. The magazine has launched an aggressive new editorial direction under the ownership of wealthy socialite Chris Hughes, who is best known for sharing a room with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard University. The names of several prominent Jewish writers from both the left and right of the political spectrum were dropped from TNR’s masthead in the latest issue. They include: Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, longtime TNR columnist...

As you may have heard, we’re now only four days away from the 2014 midterms and gubernatorial races mercifully coming to an end, save for a likely runoff in Louisiana. And as you’ve also heard lately, race–for all the wrong reasons–has become a central theme for the party in blue. Speaking of the Bayou State, its likely-to-be-unemployed-after-said-runoff and current senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) had this to say to Chuck Todd (a good get via hustle by the new MTP moderator, by the way) regarding the reason behind her not inviting President Obama for help on the campaign trail: “The South...

The president is upset. Very upset. Frustrated and angry. Seething about the government’s handling of Ebola, said the front-page headline in The New York Times last Saturday. There’s only one problem with this pose, so obligingly transcribed for him by the Times. It’s his government. He’s president. Has been for six years. Yet Barack Obama reflexively insists on playing the shocked outsider when something goes wrong within his own administration. Obama represents not just the party of government but a grandiose conception of government as the prime mover of social and economic life. The very theme of his presidency is...

Krauthammer On Obama's Foreign Policy: 'The Strategy Is To Do Absolutely Nothing' August 28 Charles Krauthammer ripped President Obama's foreign policy Thursday on "Special Report with Bret Baier," blasting the president for holding a news conference at which he said, "we don't have a strategy yet" for dealing with ISIS in Syria. "The president of the United States, in the middle of a real crisis, a few days after the beheading of an American...gets in front of the world and says, I don't have a strategy," the syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor said. "If that is true, don't say...

Krauthammer’s Take: On ISIS, ‘Enunciate a Policy’ By NRO Staff August 12, 2014 The president hasn’t “talked about ends, objectives, what we’re trying to do” with regard to the threat of the Islamic State, Charles Krauthammer argued on Tuesday’s Special Report. “The president talks only about tactics: no troops on the ground, air strikes here,” he said. “Enunciate a policy,” Krauthammer advised, even it’s just “containment” — “then you fit the means” to that end.

AUGUST 14, 2014 Missing the Big Picture The president’s foreign policy is defined by a total absence of strategic thinking. By Charles Krauthammer “Great nations need organizing principles, and ‘Don’t do stupid stuff’ is not an organizing principle.” – Hillary Clinton, The Atlantic, August 10 Leave it to Barack Obama’s own former secretary of state to acknowledge the fatal flaw of his foreign policy: a total absence of strategic thinking. Mind you, Obama does deploy grand words proclaiming grand ideas: the “new beginning” with Islam declared in Cairo, the reset with Russia announced in Geneva, global nuclear disarmament proclaimed in...

John Kerry is upset by heavy criticism from Israelis — left, right and center — of his recent ceasefire diplomacy. But that’s only half the story. More significant is the consternation of America’s Arab partners, starting with the president of the Palestinian Authority. Israel accepts an Egyptian-proposed Gaza cease-fire; Hamas keeps firing. Hamas deliberately aims rockets at civilians; Israel painstakingly tries to avoid them, actually telephoning civilians in the area and dropping warning charges, so-called roof knocking. “Here’s the difference between us,” explains the Israeli prime minister. “We’re using missile defense to protect our civilians, and they’re using their civilians to protect their missiles.” Rarely does international politics present a moment of such moral clarity. Yet we routinely hear this Israel-Gaza fighting described as a morally equivalent “cycle of violence.” This is absurd. What possible interest can Israel have in cross-border fighting? Everyone...

On Tuesday's broadcast of "The O'Reilly Factor," Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer gave his solution to the crisis at the southern United States border: a fence. He argued that securing the border with a fence is a proven method and he pointed to other places where it has worked, including at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. "Alright, here's what I've been on for years," Krauthammer said. "You start with a fence. It's very simple. People say, 'Oh, fences don't work. You make a ladder.' Well, then you build two fences, triple strand fences. San Diego did that in the...
