"The disastrous state of California's government is of concern to us all," according to a news release from the institute, which is based in Texas and has offices in California and Florida. "Within a generation, Latinos will soon be the majority in California and, as such, we have a vested interest in California's future."

It seems that Senator Obama's Old party was called the New Party. The party was a Marxist Political coalition. This was not a guilt by association thing. Senator Obama sought out their nomination. He was successful in obtaining that endorsement, and he used a number of New Party volunteers as campaign workers. Read more on the Marxist endorsement that Barack Obama sought out: Co-founded in 1992 by Daniel Cantor (a former staffer for Jesse Jackson's 1988 presidential campaign) and Joel Rogers (a sociology and law professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison), the New Party was a Marxist political coalition whose...

A new variant of the Russian Trojan Gozi, armed with keylogging functionality, is making the rounds again. What makes this time different is that the Trojan can scramble itself to avoid detection by your anti-virus software. The Trojan is believed to have been spreading since April 17. Like the original, which was discovered earlier in 2007, the new version of Gozi steals data from encrypted SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) streams. The latest variant was uncovered May 7 by Don Jackson, a security researcher at SecureWorks in Atlanta. Comments Posted by Steve 3:15 PM (CDT)

Student Group Wants Campus Gun Ban Lifted (CNSNews.com) - After two armed southwest Virginia law students stopped a campus shooting rampage in January, a Second Amendment group at a northern Virginia law school decided it was time to change their own school's ban on guns. "We are trying to build a detailed and persuasive brief that would include statistics on increases in safety, decreases in violent crime when you do have concealed carry permit holders in a jurisdiction," said Orest J. Jowyk, president of the Second Amendment group at George Mason University School of Law. "I think the middle ground...

Dear Viewer, Thank you for your correspondence regarding the "South Park" episodes entitled "Cartoon Wars." We appreciate your concerns about censorship and the destructive influence of outside groups on the media, entertainment industry and particularly Comedy Central. To reiterate, as satirists, we believe that it is our First Amendment right to poke fun at any and all people, groups, organizations and religions and we will continue to defend that right. Our goal is to make people laugh and perhaps, if we're lucky, even make them think in the process. Comedy Central's belief in the First Amendment has not wavered, despite...

Wife slain despite order of protection October 19, 2005 BY FRANK MAIN Crime Reporter Advertisement Even though he was ordered to stay away from his wife, Howard Jones apparently sneaked up to her car and scrawled "whore" and her telephone number on the windshield Saturday. The next day, he returned and fatally stabbed his 65-year-old wife, Bonnie Jones, as witnesses tried to save her. Neighbors of Bonnie Jones, a Clemente High School administrator, question if the criminal justice system did enough to protect her from her murderous husband. But authorities urged battered women to continue to seek orders of protection...

Immigration reform church goal, cardinal says Louie GilotEl Paso Times The time for immigration reform has come, U.S. and Mexican Catholic workers assembled in El Paso said as the groundbreaking Binational Migration Conference opened Thursday. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of Washington, D.C., said the church owes it to its Hispanic faithful to push for change, as high-profile delegates gathered at the Camino Real Hotel. "The church in the United States is very, very Hispanic and what a blessing that is. They (Hispanic immigrants) come with the values that are so needed in the United States today. OTAY MESA, Calif. -- Early last year, Peggy Saul donated her 1991 Chevy Cavalier with 194,000 miles on the clock to Father Joe's Village, a charity that runs homeless shelters in San Diego. The 55-year-old family therapist received a $1,500 deduction toward her next tax bill. Father Joe's Village then shipped the red two-door to an auction it runs here, where it sold for $350. Within a few days, the Chevy was in the hands of a Tijuana-based smuggling organization. Ms. Saul's car was impounded by federal agents when they discovered an Iranian man trying to enter the country hidden...

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico - The second-floor dorms are sparse but clean, full of bunk beds with sheets but no blankets, and the added amenity of a cracked mirror in the women's room. From the windows, one can see the green banks of the Rio Grande, the brown ribbon of river, and a line of train cars on the American side of the border in Laredo. "So close, but yet so far," said Jose Antonio Moran, one of the volunteers at the Migrants House, one of several way-stations along the Mexico border that offers a bed, food, medical care and even...

Navy Shows Off Next-Generation Vessel By Sgt. 1st Class Doug Sample, USAAmerican Forces Press Service Alexandria, Va., April 2, 2004 -- The huge vessel looks quite out of place among the small yachts and sailboats at a shallow pier. Neighborhood people on their morning jogs and dog walks looked amazingly at the HSV 2 Swift on its four-day port call here March 30. The HSV 2 Swift may one day become the Defense Department's transformation into the future. The Swift floats on two sleek, wave-piercing catamarans and can travel at speed of 42 knots or 85 plus kilometers...

The future of the Navy is on its way to Naval Station Ingleside, according to U.S. Fleet Forces Command. The HSV-X2 Swift, a record-setting high-speed vessel leased by the Navy from Australian shipbuilder Bollinger/Incat USA, will make Ingleside its home port while it acts as an interim replacement for the command and control ship for the Navy's Mine Warfare fleet. However, the Swift will see little time at Ingleside, officials say, due to its experimental role in Navy operations that may offer a window to how the Navy will utilize ships in the future. Capt. Terry Miller, assistant chief of...

Migrant workers who once crossed the border each spring from Mexico and returned south for the holidays at home are more likely than ever to spend Christmas in the United States. It is a sea change in a once predictable migratory flow - and an unintended consequence of U.S. immigration policy that aims to keep people out by investing billions of dollars in beefier border security. The new reality is clear in Northern California's Napa Valley, where farmhands once packed for Mexico after harvesting prized wine grapes. The vines are now bare, but many workers are still kicking around for...

Fearing that Massachusetts could be the first gay marriage domino to fall, conservative groups around the country are setting their sights on the Bay State for a major political stand against same-sex marriage here. ``Massachusetts is our Iwo Jima. For us, it's our last stand. We're going to raise the flag,'' said the Rev. Louis Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition, based in Washington, D.C. Sheldon said the Supreme Judicial Court's landmark finding that gays and lesbians have the right to wed could cast the institution of marriage into turmoil nationally. His group is asking its members across the...
