"But what if Romney had been able to reach a mind-blowing 70 percent of the Hispanic vote? Surely that would have meant victory, right? No, it wouldn't. Romney still would have lost, although by the narrowest of electoral margins, 270 to 268. (Under that scenario, Romney would have won the popular vote but lost in the Electoral College; he could have racked up huge numbers of Hispanic votes in California, New York and Texas, for example, and not changed the results in those states."

An email from the Hayworth campaign today featured his first TV advertisement featuring his wife Mary Hayworth. She hits McCain pretty good, and truthfully, mentioning how he's sold out Arizona on immigration, bailouts and tax increases. And, she hits McCain pretty hard for his negative ads directed at JD for the past few months.

A humorous new campaign ad from J. D. Hayworth where John McCain states that: "the people of Arizona will judge me on, not what I have done for them, but what they think I can do for them." Maybe a Freudian slip from a 2/15/2010 statement.

Yesterday morning, February 9, Bill Bennett gave a short endorsement of McCain over Hayworth in the Arizona Republican Primary Senate race. Bennett said that, on paper, he probably agreed more with Hayworth, but he had to endorse McCain because McCain often took stands as only he could, giving McCain's 'strong stand' last week to uphold Don't Ask, Don't Tell as an example. Since I'd only heard it once on radio, I posted nothing about it yesterday. A couple of callers mentioned it this morning and Bennett reiterated much of what he said yesterday, saying he disagree with McCain on Amnesty...

An editorial written by Republican presidential hopeful McCain has been rejected by the NEW YORK TIMES -- less than a week after the paper published an essay written by Obama, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. The paper's decision to refuse McCain's direct rebuttal to Obama's 'My Plan for Iraq' has ignited explosive charges of media bias in top Republican circles. 'It would be terrific to have an article from Senator McCain that mirrors Senator Obama's piece,' NYT Op-Ed editor David Shipley explained in an email late Friday to McCain's staff. 'I'm not going to be able to accept this piece...

I would have posted an article, but I can't recall any that I've seen. Our policy toward Israel seems to have always been an issue in presidential debates in the past. But this year it seems to be a topic seldom if ever discussed. I certainly haven't watched every debate, listened to every stump speech, or read every position paper. Maybe others are more up on this subject than I am.
