HOUSTON — Three Houston police officers were shot today in the Third Ward area at the end of a chase, authorities said. According to the Houston Police Department, the officers were shot in the 2100 block of McGowen Street, at the intersection of Hutchins Street, at around 2:30 p.m. Police said the suspect fled the scene in a white Mercedes. According to law enforcement sources, the suspect is Roland Caballero. They said he's involved in a standoff at a residence on Lockwood Drive with a gunshot wound to his neck.

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday afternoon discussed details on the state building its own wall along the southern border. The governor made the announcement last week during a summit about border security with law enforcement officials. “Texas is stepping up… and doing more than any other state has done to respond to these challenges along the border. [Texas lawmakers] just passed a budget adding more than a billion dollars to border security for Texas to do the federal government’s job,” Abbott said.

Footage showed people fleeing from the scene as sirens were overhead inside of the mall. Some people claimed to have been evacuated from a movie theatre inside the mall. Police confirmed that there was a "shooting incident" at the mall and that officers were at the scene. They confirmed that one person is in custody following the shooting and that no victims have yet been located.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is asking the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to stop a new rule that prohibits the selling or dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. DeWine said in a statement Thursday that prescribing hydroxychloroquine should be decided between a doctor and a patient.

Dallas County extended its coronavirus pandemic stay-at-home order through May 15, two weeks beyond the statewide order from Gov. Greg Abbott. Tuesday’s 3-2 vote by county commissioners could be overruled by Abbott. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, who cast one of the three votes to extend the order, said he’ll leave it up to the state to decide.

GOP House member Matt Gaetz is condemning Democrats for concealing their impeachment proceedings from Republicans. In a fiery speech Wednesday, Gaetz was joined by a number of his Republican colleagues who attempted storm into a facility where Democrats were looking into classified materials as part of their inquiry. Just observed a vehicle with bright flashing yellow lights proceeding at about 5 mph spraying a fog or mist at about a 45 degree up angle on my street at 1:41 am.
