MUSIC | U2 pans for wisdom in Songs of Innocence “There is only one thing … worse than being talked about,” says a character in Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, “and that is not being talked about.” The Irish rockers U2 and their partners at Apple tested that idea by placing free copies of U2’s latest album, Songs of Innocence (Island), in the accounts of iTunes subscribers on Sept. 9—a date, coincidentally, that also marked the 124th birthday of Colonel Harland Sanders and the 48th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.

A great many Republican House and Senate candidates may be staying away from talking immigration, or immigration reform this cycle, but not Jeb Bush. A funny thing happened on Jeb's recent visit to Colorado to stump for Republican Cory Gardner in his race against Democrat Mark Udall.

"I didn't do this to satisfy them. I did it because it was not serving Houston." Following a barrage of Bibles being sent to the office of Houston Mayor Annise Parker in response to her controversial subpoenas of five pastors to turn over their sermons, the city of Houston has withdrawn those subpoenas.

Christian Bale has some novel interpretations of Moses, whom he portrays in the upcoming "Exodus: God and Kings." "I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life," Bale said. Hard on the heels of Noah, which took great liberties with the biblical tale, Exodus is drawing criticism from Christian websites.

According to information obtained by TMZ, 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins may not face child molestation charges because too much time has passed since the alleged cases of pedophilia. On Oct. 7, it was reported that Collins' wife Faye Grant released a secret audio tape of her husband confessing to molesting or exposing himself to three underage girls. Grant reportedly confronted Collins about the incidences during a therapy session in 2012 and she got it all on tape. The release of the audio led to an active criminal investigation by the NYPD.

Good day. I downloaded the new and improved OS, OS X Yosemite. At first blush, there are some features I miss about Mavericks, but I need to waste.....I mean, spend more time with Yosemite. It's too early to say "yay" or "nay", or perhaps the conclusion won't be so black and white, unless you're a "I HATE! all things Apple...including those snobby Mac Users", of course. What say you about OS X Yosemite? Any pointers/advice/recommendations by you techies out there?

AUSTIN, Texas -- Houston Mayor Annise Parker has backed down from the subpoenas the City of Houston issued to several area pastors, Breitbart Texas has learned. Breitbart Texas reported earlier about the controversy, stemming from litigation challenging the city's anti-discrimination ordinance and subpoenas asking the pastors for the content of their sermons, speeches and communications with church members. Texas Senator Ted Cruz weighed in, firmly supporting the pastors in their efforts to fight the subpoenas, while Mayor Parker initially remained adamant that the city had the right to request those records. Despite posting comments on Twitter just hours before that...

Good evening, I recently bought a Mac. I need to do some office work, but I don't care for any of the applications. I've read that the Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice, KOffice, and NeoOffice are popular. From what I've been discovering, the NeoOffice seems ideal given that it's designed for OS X. Is anyone currently using any of these office suites? If so, what do you like/dislike about it? Would you have any recommendations? TJI

Is it possible for Republicans and Democrats to put aside partisan politics and work together? Well a new show called Rival Survival answers that question. The show puts two U.S. Senators, Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM), on an uninhabited island for six days and nights and force them to work together without any connection to the outside world.
  • Veganism "Can Cause Serious Harm" Say Swiss Authorities

As the popularity of alternative-lifestyle choice ‘veganism’ increases across Europe, officials in Switzerland have expressed concerns about the health implications for children who have the unusual diet forced on them by “idealistic” parents. In the statement, Swiss officials said: “Vegan food is not recommended for young children. It can cause serious harm”. The lack of vitamin B12, which is seriously deficient in Vegan diets is the main cause of the interjection by federal health officials, who have warned denying children access to animal-derived food at an early age can cause health problems.

Good Evening, So I've been considering this whole smartphone business. No, not the kind of business in which I design, produce, or sell smartphones. I'm referring to the whole smartphone culture. Or subculture, call it what you wish. Yeah, I have a cellphone, but is it smart? No. Although I don't own a smartphone I know a little about it. After all, a lot of friends and family have smartphone. They ask you if YOU have a smartphone. And if you don't, some of them peer over their shoulders and shun you. Also, there are all those ads reminding you...

As so many in the general public have witnessed, I watched the video involving Ray Rice and his fiance (she is now his wife), Janay Palmer, and the assault which occurred at an Atlantic City, New Jersey casino. There are two facts which I find disturbing surrounding this case. After viewing the video I read some of the comments in response to the footage. A number of ppl actually blamed Ms. Palmer for the altercation, or stated that she "had it coming" due to her supposed drunkenness. How they came to the conclusion that Ms. Palmer was drunk is beyond...
