If we (the USA) were in a declared war or the military action was specifically authorized under the War Powers Act I might agree. But Obama took is into Libya without so much as a nod to Congress and military action over Yemen is murky at best.

I can imagine Obama targeting Americans overseas with a simple after the fact declaration that they were terrorists without any public proof being given. Snuffing American citizens like that without due process or a
recognized State of war is therefore problematic regardless where the action takes place.

The PAKs threw a hissy-fit after OBL’s killing. Not so much about the killing itself, but the violation of Pakistan's airspace and sovereignty. If the details of a sealed civil settlement become public then the Plaintiff’s ability to receive his damage award can be impacted. The reason that Gay marriage has gotten so much traction is that traditional marriage has become de-linked from child-rearing already. IOW’s society no longer accepts the basic assumption of the family unit based on a married couple. So why not Gay marriage? (or any other alternate interpretations of the institution?)

The reason I excluded Republicans from my comment is that it is the liberals, mostly democrats, that control the regulatory bureaucracy. If Obama orders this ship boarded, it will happen immediately. If say GWB or any republican would give that order, the liberal bureaucrats would be throwing sand in the gears of the bureaucratic machinery to prevent it. You’re assuming that said illegals have a single identity that is completely traceable through various government databases. The true criminal element among any population is probably going to slip through those background checks because of fraudulent SSN’s and numerous (mis)spellings of foreign names.

I have 3 email accounts forwarding to my MS365 account. I don’t see any service interruption. Only problem I has with the service is that it didn’t pickup mail from remote accounts reliably. Never could get to the bottom of that, so I had each of the other accounts ‘Push’ the mail over to MS365 instead. Works better that way.

The retaliation - when it comes - will definitely be in Britain. That's the way Islamic radicals work. Strategically, it makes little sense to go up against professional British soldiers in-the-field. Bomb a subway or a shopping district and create a very grisly scene (ie. non-antiseptic warfare). Leftists -- at least during WW2 -- could still act as patriots. It's the main reason Winston Churchill got bounced from his Prime Minister postion at the end. Returning British veterans wanted all kinds of government subsidized goodies and Churchill was viewed as a kind of curmudgeonly spoil-sport.

In the United States, FDR was slow-walking the United States into the war when Pearl Harbor handed him a blank-check. Eventually he'd have siezed on the U-boat campaign -- like Woodrow Wilson did in WW1 - as a pretext. He had the USN actively attacking German U-boats in the Western Atlantic so that the Royal Navy could concentrate on the Western Approaches. Hitler for a time ordered his U-boat skippers not to retaliate (talk about your restrictive ROE's!)

It wasn't until Hitler attacked the Soviet Union in the late summer of '41 that the Leftists in this country abandoned the isolationaist movement and began agitating for the US to get into the War. That left only staunch conservatives in oppositions, and they gave it up after the Japanese attacked later that December.

Someday there will be a popular history written of the Leftist Movement in US politics that will tie it all together.

While we are waiting for something better to come along I suggest that in 2016 the GOP not nominate anybody for president. Focus all resources on achieving control of both houses of congress. Dem voters could then vote for their uterus at the presidential level and maybe vote for somebody with a brain down-ballot. IOW’s treat the presidential election year like a mid-term election.

Not all businesses can “pass-along” tax increases through pricing. This is especially true in the short-term, and for small- businesses.

Btw, another article recently posted here suggested that Israel is going broke shooting these things down. The interceptor missiles are a couple orders of magnitude more expensive than the Gaza Rockets.
