  • Report On Rising Far-Left Extremism Raises Concerns Of Possible ‘Mass-Casualty Event’

    Daily Caller ^ | October 1, 2020 | Peter Hasson
A new academic paper studying the rise of violent, far-left extremist networks warns of the possibility of “attacks on vital infrastructure” and even a potential “mass-casualty event.” The Network Contagion Research Institute’s report warns that militant anarcho-socialist networks are instigating violence in ways that parallel Islamist terrorists and white supremacist groups. The NCRI’s alerts have proved prescient in the past: the institute released a report warning of spikes in anti-Semitic extremism shortly before the October 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue mass shooting that left 11 people dead. The new report, which was released on Sept. 14 has received little media...

Connecticut will on Wednesday allow residents to eat in outdoor restaurants and shop inside stores, becoming the last of all 50 states to ease social-distancing orders to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Still, Connecticut officials, as are those in other states, are taking a measured, step-by-step approach to reopening and getting their economies restarted. Gyms, nail salons, spas, theaters and tattoo parlors and bars that do not serve food will remain closed until at least June 20, unless earlier modified.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Protesters rallied again Monday, asking for Governor Ned Lamont to consider reopening the state. “We appreciate his thinking of taking care of us all, but people are suffering right now and they’re not suffering with COVID,” said Marnee Palladino. One of the biggest complaints is they don’t understand why the big box stores can be open while mom and pop shops remain closed. They believe if Lamont does the right thing by reopening the state, people will do the right thing. “It’s unfair that big box stores like Walmart are able to be open while smaller...

Why were Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas guests of honor at an event hosted by billionaire Tea Party backers Charles and David Koch? And don't we have a right to know when Supreme Court justices accept trips and gifts from individuals and/or organizations - especially those with interests before the court? Like Charles and David Koch, who are spending millions of dollars to repeal health reform in Congress -- and in the courts. Chris has introduced a common-sense bill that allows the public timely access to information about trips and gifts for Supreme Court justices paid for...

On the Republican side, Greenwich multi-millionaire Tom Foley was ahead in the early results in the GOP primary. Both Malloy and Foley...
