  • Bill Introduced to Allow [Gun] Carry in National Parks

I bet this will be a priority with the 110th congress, hmmm are we still glad about staying home to teach Bush and the gop a lesson

There is no federal law that says you can't carry in a national park.

There is simply "administrative edict" that says you can't.

All it takes to change it is a policy directive issued by the head of the Interior Department or the President.

Phil Van Cleave of VCDL tried to get them to do it when Norton was running DOI.

Comrade, if you're not doing anything illegal, why should you mind a government GPS tracker in your car?

This is another step in the "total control grid" that our statist masters have planned for us.

Your every move, every word, and every purchase will be tracked. This information will then be processed to find "criminals". The sheeple will love it at first since only scumbags will be targeted. Eventually the program will expand, and they will make it a felony to have a "threat score" that is too high. Your "threat score" will be sort of like the no-fly list the gov't keeps. They won't tell you the algorithims they use to determine your score, so this will keep the sheeple in constant fear.

Just like in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia, the majority of citizens won't wind up in the camps so long as they keep a low profile and pay their taxes and don't speak up too much.

Cheap imports have masked the true inflation rates in the US, which are running near 10%.

Inflation raises prices. Cheap overseas labor brings them down. So they sort of cancel each other out. This looks good in the short term, but the long term effects are a deindustrialized America, devalued dollar, declining real wages, and ultimately an inflationary depression.

So what if our manufacturing and technological base continues to move overseas?

We'll just increase our national wealth by giving the daytraders another tool to gamble with.

We don't need to make or invent anything anymore, since we'll all get rich trading paper assets back and forth!

The clowns need to follow the same edicts as the rest of us. If guns are banned for us peasants, they should be for the elites and their thugs too.

I live next door to an 80 year old widow and I suspect that she is feeding stray cats. I am going to kick her door in tonight and tackle her so the cats stop urinating in my flowerbed. Then I will feel like a real man...

LOL. For extra fun, you could dress up in all black like a ninja, and spew profanities at granny while slamming her to the ground.

Cool. Does that mean us non-LEOs aren't responsible for anything we do either? Next time I get stopped for speeding can I say it's "not my fault" and get away it?

I guess that I, and others here, lack the bravery and courage to kick down the door of a couple of senior citizens and send both of them to the hospital.

I'll bet it's just about impossible to fall down flat on your face and get a "dislocated shoulder" or "bruised ribs". Most of the time when I hear of that kind of injury it's a car accident or falling off a roof.

The victims were 80 years old. Not in their 20s. ANY injury at that age is a potentially life changing event from which they will never recover.

At least the Nazi stormtroopers made it home safely, which is all that matters anymore in Amerika.

    From the article:

He said he believes his officers acted correctly and followed procedures when they entered the first home. "Obviously, a mistake was made and it was regrettable," he said. "But, I stand by my officers. I think they acted properly."

Wouldn't it be a shame if a bunch of armed thugs broke into this JBTs house, and sent him to the hospital?

Try a Sig P239 in 9mm. It's very comfortable and easy to shoot. Whatever you get, you should have night sites installed (if they don't come with the gun), and a Surefire flashlight that you either mount to the weapon, or keep handy. Most importantly, get some good training.

. I just want her to have something portable that she can slip under her car seat and carry with her if it becomes necessary for her to take our daughter and beat feet from the greater NY area.

If she is traveling outside of NY state, she should consider getting a concealed carry permit from another state. I think Florida and Utah CCW permits are among the best, since even their non-resident permits are recognized by nearly 30 other states.

Good article, and thanks for the ping. I see you've discovered financialsense.com :-)

The day of financial reckoning is coming. Combine an asset bubble with the exponentially increasing budget and trade deficits, and financial ruin is sure to follow.

Somedays, I think it might not be a totally bad thing. Our culture is totally corrupt and morally bankrupt, and needs to have the "reset" button hit. Perhaps after the collapse, Americans will rediscover the things that really important and stop their mad obsessions with making monopoly money and drooling in front of the propaganda machine (television).

Of course, history shows that the outcome will be much different. Bad times lead to 1) racial/ethnic/religious strife, and 2) most sheeple looking for a strongman. So we'll probably wind up with some bizzare combination of the USSR and Nazi Germany with 21st technology (cameras on every street corner and implantable microchips).

Men want the supermodel perfect mate. A dream woman who is a physical "10" in attribute and looks. With the Bo Derek fixation, women who don't measure up to men's expectations in a woman lose out. Its not a woman's brains, personality or character that interest men.

I don't think this is true. Rather, I believe it is the opposite that is more accurate. Generally speaking, it is women, not men, that are more concerned with finding the perfect "10".

Most guys are happy dating an "average looking" woman as long as she puts out a lot and makes an effort to please him.

The idea that all men want a perfect "10" is nothing more than propaganda from men-hating feminists. Most women are more than happy to accept the propaganda since it helps with their "self esteem". After all, it's easier to justify a $5000 boob job when "all men are pigs" (fiction) instead of "I'm a self-centered superficial gold digger planning to use my bigger tits to land a guy that is a "10" with money" (reality).

This would be for personal protection at home.

Why a revolver instead of semi-automatic?

A semi-auto is easier to fire and reload for most folks. Most of the major manufacturers also offer models with integral rails so you can attach a light. Whatever, you purchase, I would also recommend night sights so you can see your sights at night.

Gold is a long-term must buy. With the massive debt of the US government (and its citizenry), inflation will eventually have to be used as a way out.

    Mulder to Hunble; Smokin' Joe
Smokin's Joe, you are an honest American and still understand what this country is all about.

That was a different America, where folks actually cared about their neighbors.

Today, most of the Amerikan sheeple care for little more than how much their 401k or their house is worth. What the fools fail to realize is that "more is less" here, since higher house values mean nothing more than a higher tax base and an avenue to become further enslaved to debt vie home equity loans. And it also means their kids and grandkids will have a tougher time buying houses since their wages aren't going up 10% a year. (But who cares about future generations anymore?)

The irony is that in the "old America", by caring about others and being a good neighbor, the materialistic benefits occurred as a result. And I'm talking real benefits here, not paper benefits such as your house going up by 20% in a year, or your Google stock doubling in value.

People today have no idea what real wealth is.
