I just posted this to "The Oreilley Factor" on FoxNews.com: You should cancel the rest of your excellent "Legends & Lies - Patriots" series, as it no longer holds any relationship to our current government. I honestly believe that the last remnants of a Constitutional Republic were wiped away today. Benjamin Franklin is reputed to have answered "A republic, if you can keep it" the the question, "What sort of government have you given us?" Today, it's obvious that we haven't "kept it."
  • Question on replacement magazines for handgun

Hi all, I've got a question regarding buying magazines for a couple of handguns, and due to age, factory magazines (what I prefer, except for my AR and 1911,) are simply not available. I've got a late 80s Taurus PT99 in 9mm & a Star FireStar in .40S&W. The mags in both are getting a bit long in the tooth. Factory magazines are simply no longer an option for either. The most commonly available magazines for both are Meg-Gar or Promag. In the case of the Firestar, it appears that the only choice IS Promag, though I've seen references to...
  • Monty Python reunite for first concert in nearly 35 years

Everybody expects the Spanish Inquisition. And as with all things Monty Python, fans need to expect the unexpected, too. Next month the surviving Monty Python members reunite onstage for the first time in almost 35 years — and, they say, the last time ever. Fans understandably want to see the anarchic comedy troupe's classic skits. They're hoping for Spam, lumberjacks, dead parrots and of course the red-robed cardinals who burst in to proclaim: "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

Every St. Patrick's Day, I give some extra thought to one of the few people I consider to be a true "Sports Hero," a phrase far too often overused. Joey Dunlop was one of the greatest motorcycle road racers ever, and while he was granted the MBE for his incredible accomplishments on the TT courses around the world, especially the Isle of Mann TT, he was granted the OBE for his humanitarian work, something he quietly did, without looking for recognition.

The other day as I was driving, I was listening to a Fox News show on Sat Radio (free demo for a couple more days). Anyway, the host was interviewing recent graduates, and the typical questions (who did you vote for? Why did you vote the way you did?) were getting the typical answers, but then I heard something that just really clicked and made me wonder. The host asked who would vote for Hillary in 2016, and I guess there was only 1 guy who raised his hand. (the following is very much paraphrased) When the host asked why,...

To Whom it may concern, This was the only email address I could find on your website, and given the way Obama's attack ads are starting, and his long history of character assassination against his political opponents, I felt I needed to take this idea to you, since I don't believe there's any way that Mr. Romney would allow his own campaign to run these sort of ads. It's no secret that Obama is going after the illegal alien "vote", as well as the Hispanic vote, by claiming that Eric Holder is protecting Hispanic voting rights. Obama is holding up...

Hi All, This is my first request of this type, so please bear with me. A few minutes ago, I learned that two of my co-workers and their families were attending the Air Races in Reno, and while details are few and far between, it seems that they were among the seriously injured. May I please request that you offer up a prayer, or just think good thoughts, about Brian, Bill, and their families, as well as all the others who died or were injured at the Air Races. Thanks for your time. Mark
  • Readers Poll: The Best Prog Rock Bands of All Time

Last week, we asked our readers to vote for their favorite progressive rock bands. Looking over the results, it's a real pity that only two of the bands are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here's hoping that the class of 2012 is entirely prog. (Just imagine the epic jam between Yes, King Crimson and Rush – the stage would buckle under the weight of the countless people that have played in the first two bands.) Anyway, until that magical day happens, click though to see the results of the poll.

Finally a story posted about Lacrosse that had nothing to do with death, arrests, or rape! With Stony Brook's loss last week to Hartford, I wasn't too interested in who would win the NCAA LAX championship. As I was watching the quarter-final game between Maryland and UNC, there was a play that was just unbelievable. I was wondering what the heck was going on. Everybody was fooled, including the cameramen.

  • Question about Goldline and Weiner's assertions (Vanity)

Hi All, We all know that Congresscritter Weiner is trying to take down Glenn Beck any way he can, and he's trying to do it by going after his sponsors. I saw a bit of Weiner grilling some Goldline executive today, and since Goldline has the audacity to advertise the FACT that FDR issued an executive order outlawing the private ownership of gold, with some exceptions, like historical and collectible coins and jewelery. Weiner specifically criticized the executive and Goldline for not telling their customers that the executive order was (supposedly) repealed the following year, in 1934. But here's my...

I've been freeping, and the TV's in the other room. I just got up and caught the last 15 or so seconds of Huckabee, and I just saw Chris Squire and Alan White of Yes playing "Owner of a Lonely Heart!" What's going on here!?!?!?! Did Yes play a set? I know it wasn't Jon Anderson singing... Like I said, I only caught about 15 seconds of it before the TV show ended, but I saw Chris playing Mike's Tobias bass. So, anyone who saw the show, did Yes actually play? IIRC, Jon Anderson isn't able to sing right now...
