  • Red States RISE UP and STAND WITH TEXAS!!!

    jstolzen to Signalman

Good to see Abbott lead and Texas FINALLY take a stand (albeit, 3 years too late).

Face it, gang..our own party WANTS a wide open border as much as the Dems.

Dems want a wide open border for new voters (yes, they absolutely WILL vote - and vote by the millions).

Republicans want a wide open border for the cheap labor it provides for their donors.

Neither side has figured out how to actually pay for all the increased social services needed, or where to put 8M+ (and counting people). Details, details.

I read the other day that the US spent $450 BILLION just last year alone on Illegals (housing, health care, social services, ...). $450 BILLION. Yet we’re told SS and Medicare are at risk of not being able to be paid for, and forget the Vets..they’re on their own, apparently.

Rs have also not figured out that their willingness to keep the border wide freaking open is a POLITICAL EXTINCTION event. Illegals will vote by the millions for “free stuff”. Dems will encourage and facilitate it, by corrupt voter rolls (hey, I, Mr. Illegal guy am really Mr. Dead Guy - Honest!), vote harvesting, “free stuff” giveaways and more.

If we don’t fix this, and fix it pronto, we literally will no longer have a country. We may already have lost it for good. It’s literally THE singularly most important issue facing all of us right now.

  • Poll: Vivek Ramaswamy Overtakes Ron DeSantis for Second Place in Republican Primary Field

I think some Freepers need to pay closer attention to what Vivek is saying and his policy positions (which are pretty much 100% in alignment with what we all care about), and stop the unfounded attacks on the guy.

IF Trump is blocked (and it’s looking increasingly likely that he will be, with 4 BS “indictments” now), Vivek may very well be the best option we have.

RDS is boring. VERY boring. No personality. No charisma. No charm. No ability to answer questions fluently and on the fly. And like it or not, that matters a great deal. And don’t get me started on his mannerisms..a smart, enterprising entrepreneur could make MILLIONS overnight if they came out with a bobble-head doll of the guy.

Compare RDS’s public “performance” against Vivek’s, who exhibits “master politician” skills and answers every question with clarity and eloquence, even though he’s never held elective office. Absolutely no contest between the two.

I’m on team Vivek at this point. Voted for Trump twice, but I don’t see him being ABLE to run, as the Dems are gonna bury him under lawfare. And our totally worthless R party ain’t gonna do DIDDLY to help him, although there are plenty of ways to do so IF they cared (they don’t, and actually are on the same side as the Dems in stopping him).

That leaves Vivek or RDS. RDS is gonna bore the snot out of people, who are SO tired of politicians in general. Vivek will inspire people with clear vision and the fact (like Trump) that he’s NOT a politician. Plus, he’ll pull way more young voters than RDS.

Just wait until after the debates. Vivek is going to do very well and will shoot up even further (way further) in the polls with the increased exposure. RDS will be lucky to emerge in one piece, as Trump will have him for lunch.

And he’s already addressed all the dumb rumors (WEF, etc) that you guys seem stuck on.

    Just keepin’ it real..

Hollywood hasn’t produced much in the way of watchable / halfway decent movies since the mid 90s, when Braveheart won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

The stuff they crank out nowadays is absolute trash for the most part. There are a FEW watchable flicks, but very, very few.

I watched the whole segment with Pence, and it was 100% clear beyond any doubt whatsoever that he was responding to Tucker’s question about AMERICA’s issues when he said “not my concern”.

Any “spin” to the contrary by Pence or any of his surrogates is exactly that. SPIN.

He’s done. Not that he had ANY chance at the nom to begin with. He hasn’t even crossed the 40K individual donor threshold to make the debates yet. And after yesterday..he ain’t gonna.

Surprised to see Ramaswamy so high up the “will never vote for” list.

The guy seems super sharp and APPEARS to have strong conservative convictions that he articulates better than anyone.

If Trump weren’t in the race, he might be my choice..

Haha..saw an article on Twitter the other day that NPR apparently has to cut a ton of jobs because of funding shortfalls (or, more likely, because they’re a bloated bureaucracy spending time on nonsense like this).

    Gosh, that’s a shame. /s

I just watched Chuckie have a FULL meltdown on the floor of the Senate, where he called out Rupert Murdoch and said “do NOT let Tucker Carlson show the second segment tonight”. As in, you do..and we’re gonna come after you - HARD.

Praying that Murdoch doesn’t cave, and that Tucker airs part 2 tonight as promised.

These people are VERY scared at this point. The entire Jan 6 narrative they’ve been pushing on us all for 2 years has been a TOTAL AND COMPLETE **LIE**. And the videos prove that, conclusively, for anyone who cares to watch them.

But what really frosts my a## is that there are so-called REPUBLICANS parroting the Dem talking points. McConnell. Romney. The usual RINOs. Eg: “Cherry picked footage”, etc. No. The “cherry picked footage” was the total BS that the Jan 6 committee selectively and carefully edited to craft a false narrative. Anyone who saw Tucker’s segment last night now realizes that fully.

This is getting to be like at the end of the John Grisham book The Firm, where they eventually get the bad guys not on any of their serious crimes (including all sorts of murder and mayhem), but on Mail Fraud.

Pence already has a less than 1% chance (IF that) of winning the Nom. This takes it to precisely 0%.

  • FTC Proposes Banning Noncompete Clauses for Workers

    01/05/2023 9:29:08 AM PST · 44 of 92
    jstolzen to SpeedyInTexas

Non-competes are beyond unreasonable, as they limit the ability of a person to earn a living working for whoever they choose to work for.

I was subject to these multiple times before retiring, and they were AWFUL. In one case, the employer sprung it on me AFTER I had started the job. Not part of our agreement, so I pushed back - hard - and was told “take it or leave it”. Obviously couldn’t leave it, as I had already quit the old job and was working for the new employer..they had me over a barrel with a gun to my head, so to speak. I put up a giant stink about it and they eventually allowed some reasonable changes, but they were not happy that I basically told them to pound sand on the “surprise” agreement given after the fact..

Confidentiality agreements can be used instead of non-competes to prevent workers from giving trade secret or other competitive info to a competitor.

Non-competes should be totally outlawed, IMHO. They are anti-worker and prevent people from becoming employed.

  • Arizona judge rejects Kari Lake's election lawsuit, Lake to appeal

Since when is it required to prove the law was “intentionally” broken by the bad guys?

Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but I clearly remember the days when the issue was whether you broke the law or not. Not whether you “intended” to break the law, or that the opposing party “proved” that you intended to.

Gee, I’ll have to try this with my next traffic stop..”honest, officer..I didn’t INTEND to speed/run the ‘pink’ light” etc. So I’m good to go, right? /sarc

Methinks the bigger issue is that the judge was threatened to make the “right” judgement. Far more plausible than dismissal because Lake did not “prove” the bad guys “intentionally” broke the law. Her lawyers clearly demonstrated that the law WAS BROKEN. Ah, for the good ole’ days when that mattered..

Unless a server provides absolutely OUTSTANDING service - to the point you leave the restaurant and say “that was the most amazing experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant”, simply coming to your table, answering a couple basic questions about the menu (not always guaranteed, BTW) and bringing you your food is NOT worth 20%. Especially with the huge increases in menu prices over the last year or so.

15% for good, friendly service. 10% if you are competent but don’t do much else. Heck, I’ve even left less than that on the rare occasion the server can’t even do the basics (like, getting orders wrong, not knowing the menu or forgetting to come back and even ask how everything is..)

And tablet tipping? (ie: where a kid grabs a bagel from a rack for you and the tablet you sign indicates a spot for a tip). SERIOUSLY?!

All the “Trump should just stay on Truth Social!” posts ignore one inconvenient truth..

He has ~4 million followers on Truth. 80+ million on Twitter.

Truth Social is an echo chamber of like minded people.

If Trump wants to get his message out, Twitter is the best and ONLY way for him to do so effectively at this point..

I’ve been wondering why Decision Desk reports 219 seats for the Republicans, yet there hasn’t been a single (that I’ve seen) news alert that Republicans have won the House. Yet, the very second that Dems clinched control of the Senate, news alerts were popping up instantly.

The fix is in, gang. Regardless of the ACTUAL results, it is apparently known - at least by the 6 major news agencies that control the narrative - that Dems will be able to steal enough seats to hold the HOR.

God help our country if they do.

There is absolutely ZERO chance this went out “unintentionally” as it HAD to be reviewed by Paypal Legal before they sent it.

Paypal is now only saying it was a “mistake” because of the backlash.

    Cancel your Paypal account, pronto.

Some leftist retard actor on Twitter (don’t remember who) said something along the lines of “I watched the latest Trump rally, and NO DOUBT NOW that he is an OUTRIGHT FASCIST”.

I watched the EXACT. SAME. rally and heard nothing but love for America and traditional values.

Either A) these people are totally disconnected from reality, or B) lying through their teeth.

Actually, I think there’s a (C) choice. They TRULY believe, in their twisted, evil little hearts, that “America is GOOD” is a “Fascist” position. Literally.

God help us all, as we ain’t gonna make it much further before all heck breaks loose at this point.

FedEx has totally cratered in their ability to deliver and track packages.

For the last several years. almost nothing I’ve ordered that’s shipped FedEx arrives on time.

God help you if you want to track it. Website will give you multiple different answers on when it’s supposed to arrive, where it is, etc.

We’ve seen some truly humorous stuff..”arriving tomorrow”. Tomorrow comes..”ETA unavailable”. etc.

This is their CORE business, and they can’t even get it done.

I avoid FedEx like the plague if I have any choice in shippers. UPS is the ONLY way I’ll ship.

Good riddance, FedEx. Either clean things up, or go out of business..

That’s their plan. Get those who hate Trump to vote against him. That’s all they got.

Spot on! I saw another (Reuters) article this AM claiming (unbelievably!) that "58% of ALL Americans see the MAGA party as a 'threat to democracy' INCLUDING 'one in 4 Republicans'".

IF true, and I'm not so sure it's not, the constant hammering on Trump by ALL media - including at times Fox News - is beginning to have an effect.

That said, look at the rallies Trump can pull together and compare to the piddly few who come out to see Sleepy Joe..
