In my state, to have a driver’s license or State ID, you have to fulfill ‘Real ID’, which involves presenting many documents, including a birth certificate.
And in order to register to vote, you must present that DL, or state ID. If you don’t have those, you have to supply social security number.
I don’t know how registration works in Arizona, but do they have Real ID?
I don’t consult any of the ‘news’ organizations you mention. I just put GP in the same box with them. I appreciate journalistic integrity, and I don’t like ‘journalists’ twisting things into sensational implications.
Notice how they wrote this. The truth is that MANY areas all over the nation allow non citizens to vote in LOCAL elections. It’s arguable that this ‘paves the way’, as GP puts it; but the fact is that it hasn’t happened that illegals have been legally allowed to vote in Presidential elections.
I don’t doubt that there will be cheating and ineligible people voting - as always; but this article is attempting to sensationalize on policies that actually exist in many States and have for quite a while now.
