    However, the issue is not about marriage but normalcy and acceptance.

    It is certainly about time that homosexual and lesbian individuals began taking responsibility for their own feelings.

    It is evident that "they" are searching to find someone else to blame for the lack of perfection in their own narrow lives. Maybe it’s time for homosexuals and lesbians who "feel” so isolated to act grown up and do what other adults do when they "feel” bad. Look at yourself first.

    If homosexuals and lesbians are so miserable as some seem to describe in these MSM articles, one would think that it might occur to them to ask if maybe they need to make some changes in their own lives.

    However,who can believe that if the laws on marriage change, homosexuals and lesbians will suddenly "feel” better? I doubt that. You cannot be at peace with others until you are at peace with yourself.

    Perhaps some homosexuals and lesbians are not so happy with their lifestyles as they have been told that they should be. And, for those homosexuals and lesbians who are not at ease with their own choice, no act of marriage or civil union will ever make them "feel” better.

    Those who have move to "Greener pastures" in search of happiness often discover that despite new surroundings they are just as miserable as they were in the old place.

    The Declaration of Independence states that "We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

    Tragically, the definition of "life" has been regarded as open to interpretation, which has lead many people to expand it to mean "quality" of life.

    Equally tragically, the definition of unalienable has been open to interpretation, which has also lead many of the same people to expand it to mean inseparable from those to whom they belong except by judicial fiat.

    If we cast aside the emotional, religious and ethical considerations in this case and return to real issue framed by Thomas Jefferson "A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate."

    Her lawyers need to change tack from arguing about the role of Guardianship to the violation of her 8th & 14th Amendment rights.

    The definition of Execution is "death lawfully inflicted."
    and there can be no doubt that in this case that is exactly the outcome.

    I concur with your post, however,the arguement must now focus on the method of execution, starvation and dehydration are a form of "cruel and unusual punishment" hence a violation of her 8th Amendment rights.

    Currently no one on any death row faces death by starvation, hence it can also be argued that this also violates the 14th Amendment.

    The Schindlers need to hire some anti-death penalty lawyers
    for the case to move on. By tying this case up in knots at the Federal level they can expect at least another ten years for Terri.

    France Telecom CEO Thierry Breton has been named French finance minister.

    This was the guy who put France Telecom $75 Billion in debt, and then begged the French taxpayers to bail them out.

    With Breton's firm hand on the tiller things are definately going to change. I believe it is called a death spiral.

    A rather scruffy but tough looking man walks up to the bar in an English pub. The Landlord eyes him up, but eventual asks him what he would like to drink.

    "Arga" rasps the man.

    "I'm sorry. I didn't quite get that" replies the Landlord.

    " A wa a ukin arga" gurgles the man. The Landlord decides that he is in great discomfort when he speaks." Oh, You want a Larger !" deduces the landlord.

    The man slowly, and gingerly 'nods' his head whilst holding a Cravat his throat. All the time making horrible gurgling and rasping noises when he breathes.

    After giving the man his change the Landlord quips " that's a terrible touch of flu you have there"

    The man's brow furrows, and he pulls the cravat away from his neck and raises his head as far as he can to reveal a terrible, jagged scar running all the way across his throat. The scar tissue itself showing it had once been a very deep cut.

    The Landlord gasps, but to spare the mans feelings, stops himself from turning away. "that's a terrible scar you have there" he says. " how'd it happen"? he enquired.

    The man, gasping and wheezing between sips of Larger, begins to form the words, his face contorted with frustration and the determination to speak. "Arklans"? repeats the Landlord. The man nods his head and gestures for another drink.

    "No. sorry" says the landlord as he pours the Larger." I don't understand".

    The man then pretends to 'march up and down the bar. " Oh! I get It, you were In the Army" the man cracks a smile, nods to the Landlord, and leans back against the bar,gurgling for breath.

    The Landlord remains puzzled. "arklans" he repeats. Suddenly the 'penny drops'"The Falklands. You were injured in the Falklands" He says.

    The man looks up from his pint and gives a modest nod. The Landlords Eyes begin to glaze as he looks at the dishevelled fighting man.

    His chest fills with pride and he puts his hand gently on the mans stooped shoulders and says " What you lads did down there was fantastic"

    He opens the till and takes out the mans Fiver. "Here, take this back, you are a true Hero. Whenever you come In here you can drink for free" And pours the man another drink.

    The man takes a sip and his face contorts as he tries to gurgle his reply of thanks. A tear forms on the eyelash of the Landlord and his chin begins to quiver. But he is not ashamed, for he is humbled In the presence of this warrior.

    The man grips the bar and begins to shake with his concentration. he looks at the landlord, whose face is now a twin river of tears, and in his best voice replies,"muchos gracias,amigo"!

    National Library Workers Day celebrated during
    National Library Week

    CHICAGO -- The American Library Association-Allied Professional Association (ALA-APA), an organization that advocates for improving the salaries and status of librarians and support staff, is sponsoring the second annual National Library Workers Day (NLWD) on Tuesday, April 12, during ALA-sponsored National Library Week (April 10-16). NLWD is a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers - including librarians, support staff and others.

    The theme for National Library Workers Day is "Libraries Work Because We Do," which focuses on how library services depend on the important work done by each library staff member and department. Libraries may customize the first slogan by adding the library's name to the beginning, e.g., Goodpay Public Library Works Because We Do. Libraries also are invited to use the slogan "We work @ your library(r)" to tie into ALA's Campaign for America's Libraries.

    Libraries are encouraged to use National Library Workers Day to focus on individuals or units responsible for the number of materials selected, acquired, cataloged, checked out and back in, and shelved; for handling requests and sending them to other libraries; for answering reference questions; for planning, publicizing and presenting programs; for developing and maintaining the library's Web site; for managing the library and for other elements of library service.

    Celebrations last year included parties, notes of appreciation, awards, gift certificates and gifts like book-shaped cookies and solar calculators inscribed with "Thank you for your service." One library used the day to announce new staff services like development programs and newsletter upgrades. Another created a large wall mural with a panel for each staff member and what they do in the library.

    Customizable tools and materials to help libraries promote National Library Workers Day are available on the ALA-APA Web site at www.ala-apa.org/about/nlwd. Resources include English and Spanish versions of a proclamation, sample letter to the editor, op-ed article, radio PSAs and a sample press release. Equal Pay Day highlights the gap between the wages of men and women.

    To understand the issue and to realize that the schism was preplanned we have to return to 1979. That was the year when the ECUSA adopted a canon that became known as the "Dennis Canon".(A canon is a rule or especially body of rules.)

    The "Dennis canon" specifies that all property held by a parish, even if deeded to that parish, is held in trust for the diocese. As such, it has made it extremely hard, if not impossible, for a parish that desires to leave ECUSA to do so and retain its property--meaning that if orthodox believers leave, they leave their property in the hands of the revisionists.

    Shortly before the November 2 consecration of the Rev. V. Gene Robinson, an active homosexual, as Bishop of New Hampshire.A well-known liberal Episcopal priest(Rev. Harold Lewis) and a layman(Senior Warden, Philip Richard Roberts) in the conservative Diocese of Pittsburgh filed a lawsuit on October 23, seeking to prevent congregations from taking church property if they part company with the U.S. Episcopal Church (ECUSA) over the appointment of an openly homosexual bishop.

    Lewis, told the Associated Press that the lawsuit "has nothing to do with Gene Robinson; this is not about homosexuality...This is about the Episcopal Church...The court, I think, will uphold our position because the people of [ECUSA] in this diocese are entitled to the use and the enjoyment of the property."

    While I am not a conspiracy fan...it smells.

    Andrew Sullivan on C-Span stated that homosexual acceptance would not occur until the homosexual lobby had control of a mainstream religion and its resources.

    How many people remember the Federal lawsuit filed against Colorado University (CU). The suit was filed by several women who said that they were sexually assaulted by CU football players and recruits. Rush was all over this.

    During a deposition, a lawyer for one of the plaintiffs asked CU President Elizabeth Hoffman about an allegation that the team's former kicker (a woman) was called a c**t by one of her teammates. Specifically, she was asked whether the word c**t was filthy and vile.

    In typical academic (especially academic administrative) fashion, Hoffman responded by saying that "It is all in the context of what--of how it is used and when it is used."


    When asked, "Can you indicate any polite context in which that word would be used?" Hoffman answered, "Yes, I've actually heard it used as a term of endearment."

    One wonders how many times she has applied this term of endearment to Churchill.
