Five women died late Saturday when a limousine heading to a bridal shower burst into flames on the San Mateo Bridge, trapping the victims inside while the driver and four other women escaped. The woman for whom the bridal shower was being thrown was among those killed, her sister said Sunday. MENTONE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say at least eight people were killed and 27 injured in a collision involving a tour bus and pickup truck in Mentone. The accident occurred at California Highway 38 and Bryant Street. Highway 38 is closed in both directions. A spokesperson for Caltrans said the bus originated from Tijuana. At least two passengers were also reportedly trapped in the wreckage. Eleven others are described as “walking wounded.”

PORT OF HUENEME, Calif. (KABC) -- A member of the U.S. Coast Guard was killed in the line of duty when his boat was rammed by a drug smuggler's craft. Law enforcement sources told ABC News that the Coast Guard intercepted two boats - a pleasure craft and a small panga boat - near San Clemente Island in Santa Barbara County at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Negotiations between Fox and Time Warner Cable continued beyond a midnight deadline. The two television giants were negotiating over fees in Los Angeles.
