My concern is that we’re going to have a run on people going to the state dept requesting political asylum and turning America into the next UK. Morocco who is not yet having trouble and Egypt, are the most welcoming to the west in N Africa and aside from aid, I believe the volume of tourists has a lot to do with this. Most of you may find this incredible, but I found the North African mind to be brillant. The young men who are fighting are people who have struggled and studied well because it is their own key to open the door to freedom. I stand behind the young people of Egypt and all of North Africa and pray their struggle is not in vain. Do you know what a young man in Morocco said to me this week (and he’s never been to America) “What we say here is if you want to be free you must fight for it - it isn’t free”. Does this sound a little bit familiar? If Obama does this right it’s going to be through God’s intervention because he is clueless. Any other president would have been behind that desk making an address to the American people days ago and, as usual, he’s hiding somewhere under a new car dealership American flag.The worst part of all of this, the majority of Americans don’t give a flip and don’t understand the ramifications in this. America better wake up~!!

Cain can also succeed in drawing more minority votes than any candidate before him for the Repubs. He breaks it all down thereby allowing minorities, who have been tuned into double speak all their lives, understand. He is VERY respected and the epitome of the southern gentleman. Definitely he could win the south. I think his radio show is national - if you don’t know who he is yet, he’s on at 7 pm EST.

i’m glad to see that FR now attracts a more refined type than it did years ago. i wasn’t anti palin before but after hearing from her supporters there ain’t no way ever i’d be in her camp. if this is the quality of her constituency she attracts, god help us all. i simply didnt want her for president. after you, i am now turned off from her - and i AM anti-palin. i was discussing mentality of palin with some folks today and told them to listen carefully. i refuse to go this far right

I was in my early 20’s so I don’t remember how Kennedys’ did it but they were the ones. And then later on congress but the care of these people in the hands of the state and the state ran out of money. I’m in North Atlanta and I sent someone to the public health to see a doctor because they definitely needed medication. They came back to me and I was horrified. First of all they had to wait weeks for an appointment. When they got there the health dept collected their $10 or $20 fee and then told her all the staff had quit including the doctors - there was NO ONE to see. They kept her money. They told her they would call her when they hired staff. And that was about four or five years ago! None of us are safe until the government begins to protect the public health. You need to write your congressman

Yes, this shooting was John F Kennedy’s fault, hahaha! Seriously, he is the one who deinstatutionalized these people. Amazingly, it was the CONGRESS that agreed these people just needed their meds and then shove them out on the street. I’m a psych nurse. I believe one of the worst cases I ever had was when a huge man was brought to me to admit. He was there because he was found out on the street and threatening to cut someone’s head off if anyone “dissed” him. I asked him to give me an example of someone dissing him. He said “like if I walk up to a payphone and I want to use it and they don’t get off-I will cut their head off for dissing me”. We kept him THREE days, stabilized him and sent him packing with a prescription. Every single American needs to put pressure on their congressman to move some of this political waste to funding to house these people. I’ll betcha they find it pronto now that they’re so scared

I’ve seen this behavior over and over again - delusional, rambling, disorganized thought, paranoia, inappropriately laughing, and on and on. There’s NO question this man is a sicko. Anyone who has ever worked in mental health would spot it in a flash. The only thing I didn’t see was hyper-religiosity - which goes far beyond normal religious feelings and faith. People who have taken hallucogenics frequently have a lot of this behavior as well. If you went into 20 rooms with schizophrenic patients, 8 of them would have these behaviors. I don’t know if the guy acted alone or not, but I am positive he is sick. I don’t say that makes him innocent - I don’t think he should (and probably never will be) out on the street again. He wasn’t accepted by the military for some reason and he was tossed out of a college until he furnished a mental health pass.

Thank you for saying what you did. I believe the guy is responsible for what he did because he probably fried his own brain on drugs and alcohol. Years ago these people would have been hospitalized long term but then the govt changed all that. They admit a psychotic for 3 days until the meds stabilize them and then realize them. The give them a prescription they’ll never fill and go right back into psychosis. The root of this is the psyche but if you want to go deeper than that - drug and/or alcohol abuse. I’m not a Palin supporter, however, I see people are trying to lay the responsibility at her feet - which is ABSURD! What a horrible thing for her to have to read and see. I anticipated a flood of responses from last night and got them. They were fun to read. FYI, I am NOT new to this board. I commented under the name of Nodems2000 for about 10 years. I wanted to comment on something a few weeks ago, and I couldn’t get my password to open, so I came under this new name. So for all those who tell me to keep moving, I can do that. But I’ve never engaged in quite the heated arguments that we’ve engaged in. If you don’t believe I’m Nodems2000, if you can think of someway that I can verify who I am, lay it on me...I’ll go with it. I’m fed up with the paranoids who have me in SEIU, ACORN, or any of the other disgusting liberal groups that you’ve identified. I also want to say, I organized a national march to DC for the impeachment of Bill Clinton on Veterans Day 2000. Remember when Ross Perot was going to bring thousands of trucks from all of the country with petitions for impeachment and they’d all meet up in DC and then they would have a rally in Lafayette Park. Well guess what this “liberal” did. I reserved the park before Perot and I have no idea why, but he ultimately cancelled his march, didn’t he? But our rally took place. I’ve worked HARD for republican and conservative candidates all my adult life. Just because I do not support Sarah Palin that should not cancel me out as a true conservative through and through. I haven’t changed my conservative views. I just happen to support another candidate - you all will rip them up - but you’ll note I haven’t ripped Sarah. I respect your choice but I can’t support her. I like Newt because I’ve campaigned for him for years and I like him because he’s tough, has great ideas, and I’m sure a hell of a lot smarter than ANYONE on this board. The baggage? I am NOT attacking Sarah if you are referring to me. I am simply saying what I’ve read, what I’ve seen, what I’ve heard from her...I’m not impressed. That doesn’t mean I don’t think she’s an asset to the republican party. She has a place in the party, in my opinion, but I don’t think it’s as president.

I disagree Herman Cain doesn’t have a chance. Once the American people are exposed to this man and see what a kind and decent sort he is, he could take off like Palin did when McCain pulled her into the fold. He could rise up overnight. He is a common sense, decent guy and on his radio show he has pulled a lot of blacks over with his concise speech and not all the ring-a-round-a-rosey democratic talk. His audience understands his plain simple non-rhetoric language. If the American people meet him, they have to love him. I’m a Gingrich person, but I could certainly see Herman in there as well.

I agree with most of what you said but to be honest with you, I believe Palin has done most of this to herself. People are accusing me of listening to MSM too much, when I don’t listen to that crap at all. The reason I cannot vote for Palin is because her celebrity reminds me so much of Obama’s when he was elected and I when I hear her speak it sounds “canned” and superficial. I don’t like the idea of McCain and Palin. He needs a strong intellect to be by his side if he runs.
