  • Vanity: Comey Calls Clinton Unqualified?

    07/05/2016 3:39:43 PM PDT · by CriticalJ · 21 replies
In Comey's statement, he says the following: For example, seven e-mail chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received. These chains involved Secretary Clinton both sending e-mails about those matters and receiving e-mails from others about the same matters. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive...
  • Paper Retracted After Incorrectly Labeling Conservatives

    06/18/2016 4:53:33 PM PDT · by CriticalJ · 14 replies
Wonder how many times the original was sited on MSNBC. Conservative political beliefs not linked to psychotic traits, as study claimed Researchers have fixed a number of papers after mistakenly reporting that people who hold conservative political beliefs are more likely to exhibit traits associated with psychoticism, such as authoritarianism and tough-mindedness. As one of the notices specifies, now it appears that liberal political beliefs are linked with psychoticism. That paper also swapped ideologies when reporting on people higher in neuroticism and social desirability (falsely claiming that you have socially desirable qualities); the original paper said those traits are linked...
  • Trump and Bernie on the same ticket; take the ride

Don’t lose your lunch or your cookies or your marbles. Follow this one to the end. As Bernie throws charges at Hillary for vote-rigging to gain the nomination; as Hillary solidifies her prurient control of so-called super-delegates (Democrat insiders and hacks), thus overturning the force of Primary voting; as Trump, Cruz, and the Republican leadership heat up an internal war over delegates; as Colorado and other states reject the validity of Republican Primary voting; the hallucination that is 2-party politics in America is on the verge of cracking. And if the crack widens, the foul creatures who emerge will...
  • 45 Goals of Communisms in the US

    06/29/2015 5:32:16 AM PDT · by CriticalJ · 7 replies
Here's a list for the Communist Party in America from the book "The Naked Communist" by Cleon Skousen, published in 1958. 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. 2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. 5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. 6. Provide American aid...
  • SEIU fights 300 O'Hare job cuts as mob ties are alleged to owner of firm - Rahm = Job Killer

Examiner ^ | 11.29/2012 | SEIU fights 300 O'Hare job cuts as mob ties are alleged to owner of firm
A WGN TV report by Mark Suppelsa now raises serious doubts about Mayor Emanuel’s decision to award the O’Hare cleaning contract to United Maintenance. "In light of this report, we call on Attorney General Lisa Madigan to start an investigation into United Maintenance and this key public contract. We call on the City of Chicago to rebid the contract and choose a responsible bidder that will protect good jobs at O’Hare airport," said SEIU Local 1 Secretary-Treasurer Laura Garza. More than 300 janitors at O’Hare airport may lose their jobs right before Christmas this year because Mayor Rahm Emanuel awarded...
  • How to End the Great Recession

    The New York Times ^ | September 2, 2010 | ROBERT B. REICH
First off, I looked for this and didn't see it posted. Interesting reading. Reich seems to believe that the rich have too much. This has caused the Great Recession. Wealth needs to be redistributed via heavy taxes on the rich and tax credits for others. How this guy didn't end up in the administration is a mystery.
  • Question About the Invasion of Poland by Germany

I have been reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L. Shirer. I have just finished the invasion of Poland. From what I have read, it looks England, France, and Poland knew the invasion was coming. Poland was in dire straights due to being surround on three sides by Germany. Their military was hopelessly outmatched. If this was the case, why didn't Poland extensively mine the border regions? It wouldn't have done anything against the Luftwaffe, but it could have prolonged the invasion, giving England and France time to mobilize.
  • Panel fines ex-NC governor (Democrat Mike Easley), seeks criminal probe

    10/31/2009 9:16:56 AM PDT · by CriticalJ · 4 replies · 383+ views
North Carolina elections officials penalized former Gov. Mike Easley's campaign $100,000 Friday for not reporting flights provided by a political ally and asked prosecutors to investigate whether he or others broke laws by trying to hide them or other expenses.
  • Leader a force in N.C. politics: Basnight a kingmaker who works behind scene

    The Winston-Salem Journal ^ | 11-09-2008 | James Romoser
In the mid-1990s, Marc Basnight, one of the state's most powerful politicians, personally recruited two young lawyers to run for the North Carolina Senate. Neither of them had ever held elective office, but Basnight, the Democratic leader of the Senate, persuaded them to run. Their names were Kay Hagan and Walter Dalton, and with Basnight's help, they quickly rose through the legislative ranks. Around that same time, Basnight personally picked another up-and-coming state senator, appointing her to a powerful post as a key budget writer. Her name? Bev Perdue.
  • Good Book on the Six Day War

I just finished reading a pretty good book on the Six Day War. The book's title is: SIX DAYS of WAR. It is by Michael Oren. It isn't a weekend read, but it is informative. The people named in the book went on to dominate Middle East politics for at least the next two generations, if not more. It's funny, out of 12 years of public education and 4 years of college, I never heard anything about this war, yet its impact has shaped the politics in the region up until this day. So, if you want to learn a...

  • A potentially fun thing to do on election day.

    10/22/2004 4:38:37 AM PDT · by CriticalJ · 31 replies · 958+ views
If you have time to kill, a modern black sedan, and a black suit, you could cause a lot of heads to turn on election day. Dress in your black suit with a pair intimidating sunglasses (try to look like Agent Smith from the Matrix). Drive your Sedan to the any polling place that you think might have "voting irregularities". Park off the lot of course, but so that people entering can see you. Stand by the hood and stare at the people entering. If you have a radio, occassionally lift it up like you're talking to someone. If anyone...

My daughter was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. Through the mercy of God, she has been in remission for 18 months. Today, she starts her quarterly round of scans and tests. She will have a MIBG scan and four bone-marrow taps today. Tommorrow, she will have a CT scan. Please pray that God will bless us with good news. Thank you. Jerry
  • Curious About the Economic Effects of Gay Marriage

I have been curious about this for a while. What would the economic effects of gay marriage, if it were legal, be on the United States? For example, spouses would recieve social security benefits for deceased spouses. It intuitively seems that it would cost the federal gov't more money for social and health programs, but I could be totally off (in a marriage of men, both would probably work?[I think, I don't know much about gay people])
