U.S. President Barack Obama gives the commencement address to the graduating class of The Ohio State University at Ohio Stadium on May 5, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. PRESIDENT OBAMA: Unfortunately, you've grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They'll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule...

Alternative rapper Danny Brown is used to performing for crowded clubs, like his sold-out Minneapolis show on Friday (April 26), but he’s answering to a much larger audience in the wake the allegedly X-rated performance. Music fans have taken to social media, demanding answers from the rapper and posting personal accounts of the concert, where the rapper reportedly engaged in oral sex with a fan in the front of the crowd.

It is time for a dishwasher. My last dishwasher was replaced three times by the manufacturer before I ripped it out and started handwashing. time to go back to dishwashers and I cannot find a timed dishwasher, just ones that are ENERGY EFFIEICENT with sensors. The biggest problem I had with the newer untimed dishwashers is that I would have to rinse the dishes instead of scraping them. the second problem is that because I did not rinse them, they ran for six to eight hours becaus there was debris that the sensors picked up. Lousy design. I am looking...

I have an ENV3 cell phone. I love it as antiquated as it is. However I find I can no longer send picutres to my friends with smartphones and they sometimes cannot send me texts. Sometimes their texts come through as letter trains of squares. Is this normal between phones as the technology improves or do I need a new ENV3? I really like the level of tech I have with my current phone. I really like to text the kids. I like to occasionally like to send a picture out. And nothing beats this technology for actually being able...

The logic behind weight-loss surgery seems simple: rearrange the digestive tract so the stomach can hold less food and the food bypasses part of the small intestine, allowing fewer of a meal's calories to be absorbed. Bye-bye, obesity. A study of lab mice, published on Wednesday, begs to differ. It concludes that one of the most common and effective forms of bariatric surgery, called Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, melts away pounds not - or not only - by re-routing the digestive tract, as long thought, but by changing the bacteria in the gut. Or, in non-scientific terms, the surgery somehow replaces...

The 42-year-old Craig Slee also put online links to a communique by al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM, that encouraged terrorism. Time for another motor in the house. Last vehicle I bought I ran by the Freeper Auto-Guys and it worked great. Time for a different kind of transportation. Looking at a new two or four door Golf TDI in Red with manual transmission. No sunroof, no nav package. Test drove it twice and like the manual transmission. Dealer giving 300K warranty with serviceing Q10K at dealership. Your thoughts.

Am thinking of leaving my much beloved FrontPage to move my old old website to WordPress. It seems to be a dream come true for a tech-idiot like me. The man who I spoke with stated he could set me up for about 3K. I would be doing the movement of content, and day to day management. Your thoughts about this software option would be much appreciated and respected.

So, I am looking at a new car. Perhaps the VW diesel. I drive the car and find that I am staring at computer screens. The car must have a full pc under the hood. I am told now that most do. And I understand that for some reason beyond my understanding the cars now have wifi. When I purchase a computer I get in there and disable, uninstall and delete items I don’t use like games…extra os and tools I won’t use. So how do I turn off the garbage that is extra on a new car? Like Wifi?...

I have had a website for the past 12 years. A nice website that needs a revamping. I plan on firing her up and having fun next quarter. I found a nice local guy who can revamp it onto a wordpress softwear package and he had some nice ideas to add to the design. Price of the revamp is resonalbe I think, in the 3K range but I do have to move to his host site. and I will be moving the content over onto wordpress once the skeleton is in place. It includes the training. I have about 150...

Today I heard on either Beck or Rush, that there is a woman who worked for a government agency who has come forward to state she was in touch with the ambassador and Marines in Libya throughout the seige for over 6 hours. And now I am hearing that there was a CIA stronghold with a mile of the attack. I cannot find any articles about this woman who says that she was in real time connection with these doomed men and that IIRC that the White House was aware of the attacks IN REAL TIME. Any links or Free...

5.0 out of 5 stars We Must Stop Shooting The Messengers, It's a bit hard to quickly review this book without coming across as overtly bigoted, or staunchly judgmental (which I'm not), so I won't bother commenting much on the underlying themes presented within. Instead, I thought I'd try and detail why Geert Wilders message is an important example of how "politically correct" dogma has run amok in our society, and as a result of our collective rush to hyper-sensitivity the author suffered from mistaken identity. He has been wrongly overlooked, marginalized, tarred, feathered, and poorly assessed by so many....

Are there People or Groups Organizing Conservative Poll Watchers Across the States? I have been considering taking the day off to help drive people to the polls and instead thought that it would be more helpful to poll watch in Leftist strongholds. If there are organizations that are doing this I would be interested in helping. Frankly, I would only want to do this with at least one other watcher, and a constantly running camera. Anyone else interested in this? Ideas?

Not a lot int there but almost enough to pay off the mortgage. I cannot access it without penalties until next May, which is when I plan to pay off the mortgage. OK FR Men! My Son Wants to Buy a GMC One Ton Diesel C3500 with 140K on it and New Brakes. It is big. It is heavy. It goes vrooom vrooom. He wants it to upgrade with some friend's help. Near as I can figure out from the Net this thing must get about 10 miles to the gallon. It does not have the double wheels in the back. If that is the case it is 9.00 every time he drives to town. 2+K to insure and at least 4k annually to feed. Price 3K. Edmunds says it is worth...

Amerika's Future is Death Tuesday, August 21, 2012 – by Paul Craig Roberts Paul Craig Roberts “The day we see truth and do not speak is the day we begin to die.” - Martin Luther King Conspiracy theories have now blossomed into what the smug presstitute media calls a "conspiracy culture." According to the presstitutes, Americans have to find some explanation for their frustrations and failings, so Americans shift the blame to the Bilderbergers, the Rothschilds, the New World Order and so forth and so on. Readers will not be surprised that I disagree with the presstitutes. Indeed, the conspiracy...

There is one issue that neither side of the political war is talking about. It is a key issue of the rapidly eroding freedoms in the United States. This is a bipartisan issue and everyone is watching. People are watching all the cameras that watch them. People are listening to the government representatives who give more and more repressive rules People are watching repressive systems of tracking through license plates, through facial recognition, domestic drones, through financial systems, through medical records, computer records, telephone records, satellite records, search engine records, social media records, state records, travel records. And Republican, Democrat,...

Went to the local PO today, saw the flag at half-mast and asked the manager why. I was thinking, oh dear we have lost another good soldier to that abysmal war! She hesitated then said that Obama had ordered the flag flown at half mast to honor the Sikh dead from the temple shooting on Sunday. I was stunned. Did we even fly the flags at half mast in 2009 when that Muslim psychiatrist shot our unarmed troops?

I am homeschooling a daughter this year. She is bright (the mid 120s) and a little Asperger-ish. She loves tech nothing brings her joy like cracking into one of the laptops and repairing it. She is looking at high school and for a variety of reasons she will need to have a portion of her schooling homeschooled. This gal wants to get going on growing up and living and I don’t think that college is in her future. Rereading Charles Murray's book on REAL EDUCATION has inspired me to try to put together a curriculum that includes some education to...

Let's talk washers and dryers. The washers and dryers today have sensors to meet EPA Standards. I want to put a big frontloader washer and dryer in my garage which hardly ever gets too cold. When the plumber looked at the set up he said, you are right, there is no danger of the pipes freezing, however, there is water in all the sensors of the washers (and probably dryers) and that minute amount of water will freeze and ruin the sensor and render the equipment inoperable. I have been thinking about this. Is there a way to find a...

I am looking for links to stories about recycling not working. I seem to recall one of the Scandinavian countries admitting that they did not see any good in it. I had read many stories of how recycling was piling up at waste centers because it was to expensive to haul, and the economy had slowed down. But I cannot find links to show my leftist friend who believes all the fairy tales the leftist have to tell. Thanks fellow Freepers!

My son is in homeschool. He is an experiential kind of guy and is taking couses (some self taught) in tiling, heavy equipment and CDL. I may be able to graduate him as a two year senior with full CDL license. There are a number of other courses I could have him take after highschool, from building post and beam homes, to basic plumbing and electricity, engine repair, to gunsmithing and others. many are available to adults and provided by the private sector. I would love to be able to provide him with a post high school experiential program which...

Young Americans are eschewing cars for alternative transport, leaving carmakers to wonder if this is a recession-induced trend or a permanent shift in habits. For generations of American teenagers, the car was the paramount symbol of independence. But in the age of Facebook and iPhones, young adults are getting fewer drivers’ licences, driving less frequently and moving to cities where cars are more luxury than necessity. Figures from the Federal Highway Administration show the share of 14 to 34-year-olds without a driver’s licence rose to 26 per cent in 2010, from 21 per cent a decade earlier, according to a...

Glen Beck Called the Tax Code Something This Past Week and It was Perfect, Do you Remember the Word? Were you listening? He said this was the term that his accountants use to describe the tax code. Yes, We ARE Entitled to what is rightfully ours “An element in the readjustment of our financial system more important than currency, more important than gold...is the confidence of the people.” FDR Mar. 12, 1933 Last year’s economics columns resonated with some readers, evoking both support and outrage. This year I am moved to consider so-called“entitlements” such as the Social Security and Medicare programs. These days, when denoting such programs, too many pundits and politicians use the word ‘entitlement’ as a pejorative as in “how dare some citizens feel entitled to these benefits that are bankrupting our country?” Even our President...

Would privacy and freedom sell well as products and selling points. For example, cell phones and computers with built in privacy and no ability to be tracked. Cars that have no tracking computers in them. Developments without the constant tracking of cams. Would it sell or would it be seen as a non-starter? Companies that can get your house or propterty off of MAPS I know some Eurpoean countries have demanded MAP privacy for their people, so I think it can be done. But would we want it?

How are we monitord in this country? What do we see that is changed? Where have our freedoms diminished? Bureracratic oversight is a big problem and different legislatures certainly suuport it. Our cell phones monitor our every move. Off the bat I think of banking oversight that reports to authorities all transactions. In our state smart meters utitities are required to report unusual usage patterens, Our pharmacies are not permitted to sell cough syrup in more than two bottle sales per three days. The IRS... I dont even begin to understand the ins and outs there on how they control our...

This is a link to the paper's website although the letter is not published on the web: To the Editor: I really enjoyed Doug Davis' editorial. His tongue-in-cheek approach to the Republican Party was perfect. I have always said that you have to be one of the following to vote Republican: cruel, ignorant, stupid, naive, greedy, or traditional (one or both parents were Republican). Education reduces biases and many Republicans just prefer to stay mean and thoughtless. It is easier to stay in the past than to learn new ideas. Arthur Balcom Windham (Maine) Kind note from local (apparently) environmental...

I am considering declining Medicare coverage when I finally get there, still a few years off, does anyone have any experience about this issue? Would I still be able to get healthcare insurance after 65 without medicare? Or is it mandatory? I understand, I think, that I will have to forgoe SS. Any feedback? I am by no means wealthy, but I think I would rather untangle from the government completely as far as health and retirement go.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani says responsibility for the Occupy Wall Street movement rests squarely on the shoulders of President Obama. "This is a very dangerous movement, and it's ironic it's happening under a president who promised to unify us," Giuliani said. "Barack Obama owns the Occupy Wall Street movement, it would not have happened but for his class warfare." The Occupy Wall Street protests broke out in cities all over the country shortly after president Obama called for tax hikes on the wealthiest Americans.

There are two major historical trends here from what we can tell. One is the Greater Recession itself, which is harrying elite economic structures. People are losing faith in the system, and this is a danger to elites plans and their use of economic terrorism to build ever-greater global governance. The second historical trend is the oft-mentioned intention of the Anglosphere elite itself to do whatever is necessary to create a one-world order. It is not enough simply to introduce chaos into the world. One must generate war as well, presumably a much larger conflict than that which is occurring...

The Libyan "war" was evidently waged for several reasons, and probably had to do with oil andwith ensuring that Gaddafi did not begin to use gold rather than dollars as the main currency for Libyan oil. Additionally Gaddafi wastrying to set upAfrican Union that would use its own currency and oppose the West on numerous economic and socio-political issues. The biggest reason from our point of view may be that the West is secretly working to set up an Islamic crescent of countries in the Middle East and Africa that may provide a pretext for war. Most of the countries...
