I have followed Mark Steyn for years. I have read his columns, followed his career, bought and read his books and now his recordings. Steyn has over the years, fought time and time again for freedom of speech, and freedom of thought. I respect him. I find him a highly ethical man in this world of dubious ethics. I watched him in the legal battles at McLean's magazine. I read his forward to Geert Wilders Book "Marked for Death" where he said that Wilders could not find anyone who would be associated with the book and would Mark mind writing...

Even the Abba Museum, despite being a shrine to the 1970s pop group that wrote "Money, Money, Money," considers cash so last-century that it does not accept bills and coins. After 15 years with my medical group, I received the advanced directive from them. Modeled after the Obama care directive it was interesting to note that the doctor's group directive asks whether one wants to choose whether to be KEPT ALIVE when one has an illness that will not get better, cannot be cured, and will result in one's death quite soon, i.e. a terminal condition. Or when one is no longer unconscious, and likely one would never regain conscious again. The other choice is to be kept alive as long as possible. All other directives I see ask whether...

You can find a few moments from the show here: The Republican Party has become the party of 'Nothing Can Be Done.' It's the Council of Despair. Being a citizen in the American corporate state is much like playing against a stacked deck: you’re always going to lose. The game is rigged, and “we the people” keep getting dealt the same losing hand. Even so, most stay in the game, against all odds, trusting that their luck will change. The problem, of course, is that luck will not save us. As I make clear in my book, Battlefield America: The War on the American People, the people dealing the cards—the politicians, the corporations, the judges, the prosecutors, the police, the bureaucrats, the military, the media, etc.—have only...

Of the making of books there is no end; but seldom can there have been so appalling a spur to writing—or at least to dictating—a book as that felt by Tina Nash. She would never have sullied a page had her boyfriend Shane Jenkin not beaten and strangled her to unconsciousness and then gouged out her eyes with his bare hands, leaving her blinded for life. It was a crime that eclipsed all others in Britain that year (2011) in sheer malignity. The victim’s book, Out of the Darkness, is a classic of a kind. Though her narrative was ghostwritten,...

How ObamaCare Harms Low-Income Workers Full-timers become part-timers, losing wages and the opportunity to buy the health coverage they most prefer. By JOHN C. GOODMAN The primary purpose of the Affordable Care Act was to make health insurance affordable for people with modest incomes. Yet as the employer mandate begins to kick in for 2015, the law is already hurting some of the people it was intended to help. By this time next year, we may find that many workers who earn within a few dollars of the minimum wage have less income and less insurance coverage (as a group)...

This cannot be expressed through resistance to a specific law on the grounds, for example, that it contradicts a constitution. Such resistance is actually a vote of confidence in the state qua state; that is, such activists fight to enable a purer vision of state authority rather than against the idea of a state itself. A wholesale rejection is required. And, yet, revolutionaries who violently confront the state usually suffer one of two fates: they are slaughtered or otherwise broken or...

I am for immigration reform because I am against allowing 12 million more illegal immigrants into our country. If we do nothing, 12 million more illegal immigrants will come. We must be in favor of reform—smart reform that starts with border security. Characterizing that position as "amnesty" is simply untrue. What we have now is a lawless border. Current policy is a beacon for more illegal immigrants. The Obama administration’s lawless executive orders legalizing people who came here illegally will only encourage more illegal immigration—unless we act now with real, strong, verifiable border security.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau posted an April 16 Federal Register notice of an expansion of their joint National Mortgage Database Program to include personally identifiable information that reveals actual users, a reversal of previously stated policy. Time for a new laptop. The Sony Vaio is getting tired. Am looking for a reasonably priced laptop with some power to it. It is a desktop replacement so it cannot be one of those sissy teenyweenies. Currently have a 4gb ram, 2.20ghrtz 64 bit system running my beloved Windows 7 with word and outlook 2003. Looking for something as big, perhaps a little lighter and certainly faster, that has a disc drive, and ports for my trackball. I refuse to consider Dell. Yes I know, Applehead, they are wonderful but no thanks. Any recommendations?
