Why even teach journalism any more, they're just making it up all the time now. Only through the magic of a mainstream media that has built up an immunity to embarrassing itself can George W. Bush be portrayed as eternally stupid and a more gaffe prone guy who got worse grades in college be thought a genius. One has to wonder: if we drug tested at the polls would any Democrats be allowed to vote? Al Gore steps onto the portico of his century-old white colonial, its stately columns framing him and the black Lab mix, Bojangles, that he and...

Democratic sources tell me that AARP – easily the most influential seniors lobby – will endorse the health reform legislation put together by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats. Speaker Pelosi and her leadership team have been lobbying the lobby for weeks. AARP officials also met yesterday with WH Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and took the proposed endorsement to their Board of Directors. A public announcement is expected tomorrow or Friday, in advance of a vote by the full House likely to come on Saturday. “Big victory,” summed up one top Democrat. The Speaker still doesn’t have the 218...

BUFFETT: I'd be more worried holding cash. I think that if you look at the side effects of the incredible dosage that we've had to give -- and I think that dosage has been 100 percent appropriate; I'm not knocking that. But when you apply the kind of medicine we've applied, you may have sort of unprecedented aftereffects, too. But the one thing about those unprecedented aftereffects is they're going to be very bad for cash. I would much rather own working assets than have cash in a period that well could become inflationary down the road.

Voters in New Jersey proved last night that they are way smarter than voters in Pennsylvania, who blew a chance to rid themselves of the odious Jack Murtha last year. The Republicans ran an outstanding candidate, Lt. Col Bill Russell; but Pennsylvanians decided to stick with the traitorous gasbag instead of electing an American hero. New Jersey voters at last, banished Goldman Sachs alum, John Corzine, who ran on a platform of being Obama’s BFF. The Obama- blessed incumbent offered the traditional Democrat vision: higher taxes and corruption on a scale that makes Mayor Daley look downright saintly. Inexplicably, the...

Surprising Census Statistics Bethany Stotts, November 4, 2009 In terms of payroll, states and local governments faced larger escalating costs from the education sector than from corrections in 2008, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. “The payroll for state governments rose by 5.3 percent ($937 million) in 2008,” stated a recent Census Bureau news release. “Among the functions with the largest increases in payroll were education ($464 million) and corrections ($113 million)” (emphasis added.) In addition, the number of education workers at the state and local level dwarfs the number of public prison and hospital staff. The...

Behind Global Warming Alarms Allie Winegar Duzett, November 4, 2009 As the danger of global warming fades, the influence of those who would use it to expand government regulation grows. Neil Maghami of the Capital Research Center investigates those behind today’s climate of environmental alarmism in his October 2009 article, “The Triumph of Environmental Alarmism: Science ‘Czar’ John Holdren and the Woods Hole Research Center.” In the article, Maghami describes who John Holdren is and why he is significant. Holdren is today President Obama’s science “czar,” and the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). The OSTP...

When President Obama started backpedaling on the number of Jobs his economic stimulus would create he started using the bogus term "Saved or created." This is how William McGurn described the term for the Wall Street Journal: "To begin with, the number is pure fiction -- the administration has no way to measure how many jobs are actually being 'saved.' And if we had tried to use something this flimsy, the press would never have let us get away with it." “How do you know what a saved job is? How do you know what jobs would have been lost...

What is shocking is that anyone is surprised by the news that Al Gore's Silver Spring Networks company is benefiting from some $560 million in grants given by the energy department. Did anyone actually think that Al Gore was going to turn a profit by selling cow fart catalytic converters or solar ovens to people on the street? The fact is, the average person doesn't buy Al Gore's load of crap so he has to depend on like-minded wackos in the government who will make sure that his investments were not made in vain.

Congratulations to the new Governors-Elect of Virginia and New Jersey! I’d also like to offer a special word of support to the new Lieutenant Governor-Elect of New Jersey, Kim Guadagno, the first woman to hold that office. Of course, the real victors in this election are the ordinary men and women who voted for positive change and a return to fiscal sanity. Your voices have been heard

Whenever government throws billions of dollars at the economy, one would certainly expect to find some jobs at the end of those dollars. President Obama has worked hard to convince the nation that the mega fiscal stimulus he signed into law produced some 650,000 jobs. This PR blitz is amazing in the face of an economy that has shed 3.4 million jobs since Obama was sworn in, the unemployment rate is pressing toward 10 percent, and the Obama jobs gap – the gap between where he promised we would be and actual employment — rises monthly. Political chutzpah aside, the...

Seattle Cartoonist Blasts South Carolina Workers It’s one of the funniest cartoons we’ve seen in a long time, even if it is nothing but sour grapes. Cartoonist David Horsey of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer – miffed that Boeing Corp. chose North Charleston, S.C. over Everett, Washington to assemble its second line of 787 Dreamliners – took pen to paper (well, not paper, really) to vent some of his frustration against the Palmetto State. “How many non-union South Carolinian workers does it take to attach a wing to a Boeing airplane?” Horsey’s cartoon asks, portraying several dim-witted rednecks attempting to attach a...

Lies, Tax Fraud and DeceitMy theory is that Alan Grayson is a liar, a fraud, and a tax-cheat. Who is this guy? How did he really obtain his wealth? It’s certainly worth further investigation in light of the following.Summary: Roll Call lists Alan Grayson’s largest asset is a claim against Derivium Capital, the now bankrupt Ponzi scheme, in the amount of $34 million. Central Florida Politics lists Alan Grayson as the Derivium Capital scams most frequent customer. Roll Call lists Grayson’s net worth at $31.12 million. Grayson’s only other asset is said to be a trust fund worth $5...

Palm Beach, FL—Staying consistent in politics takes the constitution of a rhinoceros. Unfortunately, it is that rhinoceros which is so aptly destroying the Republican Party—a party that looks uglier flip-flopping than Barack Obama did flipping those Iowa pancakes. Not only does the Republican Party have any constitution, but it hasn’t shown any consistency on issues that really matter to the American people. And when it does show consistency, it’s for removing conservatism from the party. Colin Powell is a perfect example of just that—an individual that wishes to remove conservatism from the Republican Party. But the symbol of the Republican...

The governor’s race in New Jersey is a referendum on the failed fiscal policies of the state’s current governor. New Jersey suffers under the highest tax burden in the nation – a burden which has caused many New Jerseyans to leave their home state for better economic prospects elsewhere. Chris Christie is dedicated to ending the reckless spending, the tax hikes, and the corruption that has plagued New Jersey for far too long. A vote for Chris Christie as the next governor of New Jersey will help to lead this great state – “The Crossroads of the Revolution” – back...

Stimulated School Systems Malcolm A. Kline, November 3, 2009 Americans driving, or walking, through blocks of shut-down businesses and foreclosed-upon homes while greeting their unemployed neighbors or perhaps looking for jobs themselves may wonder what happened to the so-called stimulus money that Congress voted to spend earlier this year. On Monday, the federal government provided part of the answer to that question. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provided approximately $100 billion to the U.S. Department of Education (ED) with the initial goal of delivering emergency education funding to states,” the ED department reported on November 2,...

Now, I firmly believe that a lot of what Democrats and liberals want, can actually be achieved through conservatism. Crazy idea, I know; but it's true. Liberals and Democrats are always talking about helping the poor. They are strong advocates of social welfare. Because of this, they get the vote of many poor people. But tell me, what dividends have we seen? Has poverty been cured? Even helped, to a noticeable level? Nope. A while back, Glenn Beck talked about this exact thing. But although the problem may unite us, the solutions don't. And perhaps nothing illustrates that better than...

O-Care is an awful idea for all kinds of reasons. It's a monstrosity. But one reason that has not been discussed is the problem of giving Obama -- a narcissist who has surrounded himself with thugs -- a crucial psychic victory. Narcissists have a problem with reality. They are absolutists of a kind, and their absolute ideal is themselves. So a defeat makes them feel utterly enraged -- because their gnawing self-doubts are strengthened -- but a victory is interpreted to support their messianic self-image. When Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in a way that made him the laughingstock...

Is the U.S. Dollar About To Crush Stocks? Currencies / US Dollar Nov 02, 2009 - 07:00 AM By: Graham_Summers Long-time readers know that I’ve begun to develop a love/hate relationship with the US Dollar. On one hand I believe the US currency is horribly flawed given our unserviceable debt load and the Fed’s profligate spending. However, on the other hand, to make money investing you have to be willing to go against the crowd. And with less than 3% of investors currently bullish on the US Dollar, the contrarian in me can’t help but wonder if we have the...

Crowds of people rallied to the steps of Georgia’s capitol Monday, showing their support of conservative candidates in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York, and their continued disgust with the federal government’s slide toward socialism. The mood on Atlanta’s Washington Street was friendly as the people assembled, coming together piecemeal throughout the late afternoon hours as they prepared to voice their opposition once again to a government that continues to grow its power. Contrary to the notions purported by the Media, the protesters were a diverse group: elderly and infant, black and white, challenged and unchallenged. The emcee of the...

Mark Levin is insane. He kissed his sanity goodbye on November 4, 2008. Since Barack Obama’s election, he has become a raving maniac. But he doesn’t need an appointment to Bellevue Hospital in New York City; rather, he needs conservatism. And he needs a leader in Washington that will speak for conservatism to come forward. Levin’s problem is a common conservative problem. He becomes enraged when he sees the individual liberty stripped from American citizens. He becomes enraged when Republicans flirt with liberalism and promote the ideas of liberals. And he becomes incensed when liberals trample all over the U.S....

President Barack Obama The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave District of Columbia 20500 Dear President Obama, I am deeply concerned and angered by the unconstitutional, illegal, and tyrannical actions taken recently by the administration’s “pay czar”. The cannonballs ripped through the rock wall, sending bits of rock into Lieutenant-Colonel William Travis’ legs. He fell over against the cannons as the rock tore into him. It felt as though he had been stuck with hot needles, burning him as they pierced the flesh. “Fire,” he yelled, stammering to his feet. The cannonballs rocketed into the seemingly endless number of Mexican soldiers charging the Alamo. They were surrounded, and Colonel Travis didn’t know how much longer they would last. Could this be the end of the Republic of Texas? He wasn’t sure, and all that was left was...

Joe Biden drew a pitifully small number of people to an Owens rally on th eve of a special election in New York's 23rd Congressional District Monday, prompting the Weekly Standard's John McCormack to title his first blog post from the Watertown event "Biden Packs 'Em In": "There are maybe 250 people gathered (50 of them are with the media); Watertown has a population of 30,000. The event is open to the public--no one needed a ticket to get in--but the room is only about 65 percent full. The turnout suggests that Joe the Vice President might not connect with...

"Once it is fully established, bureaucracy is among those social structures which are the hardest to destroy. " Max Weber A parasite; an organism that lives on or inside another organism to the detriment of the host organism. Bureaucracy is like a parasite once it is born it lives on the wallets of the American People. Generally a bureaucracy does two things, protect itself, spend money and of course protect its future. As Max Weber said, once a bureaucracy is established they are virtually impossible to cut back. Therefore it is crucial that any bureaucracy created is is as limited...

New York—In a stunning show of support for Rush Limbaugh, the National Football League™ has decided to sue Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for $300 million in libel over his ousting in a bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. Sharpton and Jackson, who led the charge in spreading slanderous and libelous racist statements, are now going to have to pay for their thuggish tactics in agitating the mainstream media, the sports media and Americans in general. NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, is spearheading the lawsuit, realizing his egregious error in the generation of revenue that only Rush Limbaugh could’ve added...

We almost didn't need a YES button on this poll. A whopping 99 percent said NO to the above question. The YES votes made up a resounding one-half of one percent and WHO CARES was even less than that (about one-fifth on one percent). Some respondents felt we didn't provide appropriate check-boxes for their responses. Some said, "Hell no!" (see comments at www.daveweinbaum.com).

America's Got Talent! Contestant 1: Timothy Geithner going on Meet The Democrats (aka Meet The Press) to explain that the stimulus is working. Wow... that's got to be harder than riding a unicycle while spinning plates on a pole... Contestant 2: Valerie Jarrett on This Week with George Stephanopoulos - her task was to explain how Obama has made good on building unity, and how his health care plan has been bipartisan. Wow. Selling that would be like trying to argue that Bette Midler was the greatest soul singer of the 20th century... Contestant 3: Obama himself getting his photo...

Taxation: Compulsive Failure Sarah Carlsruh, November 2, 2009 Leslie Carbone spoke on October 15th at Accuracy in Academia’s Author’s Night on her book Slaying Leviathan: The Moral Case for Tax Reform. Her book, she began, discusses “how the federal government is uncritically, if not compulsively, making things worse through its wealth-spreading fiscal policies.” Referring to the Constitution, Carbone stated that the main purpose of a government is to ensure peoples’ rights and that progressive taxation—taking a person’s money “simply because they have acquired more than another”—violates those rights. Such policy, she said, is an “affront to justice.” Her book outlined...

Well, these videos certainly are igniting the fire within me. How broken and out-of-control can our “government” get? Apparently, the elite have forgotten (or more likely, have never known) about the meaning of the First Amendment to our Constitution, where it clearly states:

As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American energy independence. Among other things, my alternative energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet America’s consumption and security needs. etc...

The 2008 financial crisis and subsequent bailout might have more to do with financial jihad and Shari’ah Financing than Americans would ever imagine or dare to suggest, and the 2009 Stimulus Plan may be a plan to keep American’s in dhimmitude for generations. Though it sounds very poignant, it is a possibility that should be explored because questions are still unanswered and Americans are still confused and bewildered over the astronomical amounts of money that they will owe for generations. This chapter takes the liberty of thinking outside the facade of unsatisfactory explanations that have been given.

On Thursday, in an effort to convince Pakistan to raise taxes on its impoverished masses, Secretary of State Clinton told government officials the United States enforces confiscatory taxation on the American people. Clinton told senior Pakistani newspaper editors in Lahore, “The percentage of taxes on GDP (in Pakistan) is among the lowest in the world. We (the United States) tax everything that moves and doesn’t move, and that’s not what we see in Pakistan,” she proudly proclaimed. Hillary Clinton Proclaims “We Tax Everything in the USA”

The American people have spoken. They oppose government-run health care. Republicans are on the side of the American people. What Americans want are common-sense, responsible solutions that address the rising cost of health care and other major problems. In the national Republican address on Saturday, October 31, 2009, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) discussed RepublicansÂ’ plan for common-sense health care reform our nation can afford. BoehnerÂ’s address emphasized four common-sense reforms that will lower health care costs and expand access to quality care without a government takeover of our nationÂ’s health care system that kills jobs, raises taxes on...

Source: Trade and TaxesRaymond L. Richman The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis issued a misleading report when it announced October 29, 2009, that annualized Gross Domestic Product, measured in 2005 prices, increased 3.5 percent from the 2nd quarter 2009 to the 3rd Quarter of 2009. The fact is that annualized GDP in the 3rd quarter was $13,014 billion compared with $12,901 in the 2nd quarter , an increase of 0.872, less than one percent. The number, 3½ , asserted by the BEA was obtained by multiplying 0.872 by 4, in other words by extrapolating the rate of increase in the...

I want to personally thank Republican Dede Scozzafava for acting so selflessly today in the NY District 23 race. Now it's time to cross the finish line with Doug Hoffman so that he can get to work for District 23 and the rest of America. With Congress poised to overhaul one-sixth of our economy with so-called health care “reform” (which is really a government takeover of health care) and with plans to enact a cap-and-tax bill just as our economy struggles to recover, Doug Hoffman will be a voice for fiscal responsibility and common sense in Washington. We need candidates...

Despite what candidate Chris Daggett is claiming, I have never contacted him or his campaign. I have never asked him to drop out of the NJ Governor’s race. It is high time Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw were taken to task for their support of Barrack Husein Obama. I first must admit that I have been a fan of Brad and Tim for a long time.
