Fellow Americans, there comes a time every mans life when we must give up ourselves before we are worthy to recieve. There comes a time in this war on terror when in order to protect liberty, we have to give it up in the mean time for safty. That's right folks. Today, Americans have forsaken the creator for the creation and have decided that they would value our "civil liberties" than protecting western civilization and rich white people from the tender mercies of radical Islamic terrorists. Selfish liberals insist and whine that Bush has no right to spy on Americans...

Yaa, you repukes are not doing so well, huh? Imagine, you repukes control the presidency, both houses of Congress, and appointed 7 of the 9 Supreme Court justices. Yet the Supreme Court thre out sodomy laws in all 50 states and recognized the right of government to seize land for any reason. And you couldn't pass your Social Security changes could you? Sorry, that was your last shot. Come November, we're going to start seeing more Democratic faces in the House. It's the end for you guys. You guys are celebrating when Bush's numbers go *up* to 45%. Then Faux...

Bush’s giant Right Wing Noise Machine (RWNM) loves to preach about the Bush economic miracle. In fact, the RWNM’s current thinking is Bush doesn’t spend enough time talking about his economic triumphs. If only he did, then everyone would fall in line and believe in the great Bush economic miracle. There is one problem with this argument: it’s a lie. Any way you look at the Bush economy, it comes up short. Today, I want to compare Bush’s job creation record with other economic recoveries. As usual, Bush comes up way short. The national Bureau of Economic Research has identified...

Why does anybody support George w Bush as President? He is clearly the worst President I have ever seen -- a complete disaster. And before you say anything, I have been a registered Republican for 25 years.

A drunken holidaymaker has been dumped on a desert island after launching a foul-mouthed tirade at the crew of a passenger jet. The unwilling Robinson Crusoe will only be able to leave Porto Santo, a tiny patch of land off the North African coast, if he books a two-and-a-half hour ferry trip to Madeira. He will then have to book a flight to his intended destination, Tenerife, or return to Britain. Monarch Airlines has yet to decide whether to sue him for the cost of the unscheduled diversion, estimated at "many thousands of pounds". The unnamed passenger's difficulties began on...

After reading all of the crap that people have been saying regarding Adult Private Social Clubs, I felt that I had to post an article and give my opinion. I am sick and tired of all the religous groups that are saying that there are drugs, prostitution, minors, non-consenting people, and just immoral people at these clubs! First of all, who do these people think they are to decide what is morally right or wrong for me? I believe that I have a good set of morals. I am a law abiding, tax paying citizen, I work full time and...

Lies of omission about 9/11 -- stoking fears of terrorism THEY WANT YOU TO BE AFRAID The following post was censored by freerepublic.com shortly after it was posted on their "public" forum on 9/11/04. That forum is designed to appear as though it is a community forum open to all, but this post only received three responses before it and its replies were deleted, and a repeat posting at 4 am PST on 9/20/04 didn't stay online for 5 minutes! Someone is apparently watching closely over the content of the freerepublic.com forums and censoring them 24/7 (though they might have...

Updated: 10:20 p.m. ET Dec. 9, 2005 - Unless California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger grants his appeal for clemency, Stanley (Tookie) Williams is scheduled to be executed late Monday night at San Quentin State Prison, where he has been on death row since 1981 following a conviction for quadruple murder. Williams spoke Friday with NEWSWEEK’s Karen Breslau by phone from his cell on San Quentin’s death row. Excerpts: Why do you want to go on under the conditions you live in? Williams: First and foremost, I have the heart, the fortitude and the redemption to fight. I’m not culpable. I’m not...

Departing anchor asks audience to support show or network will pull itNEW YORK - As he walked out the door, Ted Koppel couldn’t resist one last dig at the network that almost dumped him three years ago. Koppel, in his final broadcast Tuesday after more than 25 years as anchor of ABC News’ “Nightline,” asked his fans to give successors Martin Bashir, Cynthia McFadden and Terry Moran a fair break when they start on Monday. “If you don’t,” he said, “I promise you the network will just put another comedy show in this time slot. Then you’ll be sorry.”

In the latest high-profile round of job cuts in the newspaper industry, the Los Angeles Times announced Wednesday it is cutting about 85 newsroom jobs, or approximately 8 percent of its editorial staff. Some of the cuts already have come through attrition and some will come through a voluntary separation program, editor Dean Baquet wrote in an e-mail to staff. The balance will come through layoffs by year's end. Employees have until Nov. 25 to apply for the voluntary program, the terms of which were to be detailed to the paper's staff later Wednesday. Baquet blamed the newsroom cuts on...

Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. -Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782 Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. -Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782 History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. Family Terrorized After Fox News Wrongly IDs Them As Terrorists LA HABRA, Calif. -- A couple whose home was wrongly identified on national television as belonging to an Islamic radical has faced harassment, and police are providing special protection. After the report ran on Fox News on Aug. 7, people have shouted profanities at Randy and Ronnell Vorick and spray-painted "terrorist" (spelling it "terrist") on their property. "I'm scared to go to work and leave my kids home. I call them every 30 minutes to make sure they're OK," Randy Vorick said. John Loftus, a former federal prosecutor who appears...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Im so glad Jennings is dead in hell! I couldn't stand listening to all that liberal pro freedom bable. Jennings was an evil wicked communist who touted evil values such as religious freedom, freedom of speech and racial equality which as Debbie Schlussel stated after 9/11 are all anethema to genuine western values and are the reason we were attacked! Do you not know that the constitution of the USSR guarentees freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of the press?! IT'S true! That's why they were EEEEEVILL! Ever since we've adopted those planks, our nation has fell...

Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have thought about leaving Britain after the London bombings, according to a new Guardian/ICM poll. The figure illustrates how widespread fears are of an anti-Muslim backlash following the July 7 bombings which were carried out by British born suicide bombers. The poll also shows that tens of thousands of Muslims have suffered from increased Islamophobia, with one in five saying they or a family member have faced abuse or hostility since the attacks.

Yes. I am new to this website and was wondering why my account was banned? I posted an article I wrote about how Buddhism not Islam is a threat to America and is the fastest growing religion instead of Islam. I noted how Buddhism denies the existence of God and the divinity of Christ, I also made note of how Buddhists practice an evil satanic ceremony called doku. It is a ritual where Buddhist monks use a doku drum made of the hide of a white christian baby to conjure up demons for human sacrifice. Using three fingers they beat...

First vanity post: The Administrator of FR has made it clear that my posts are no longer wanted here. They have been erased for reasons unclear with the Administrator being incredibly disingenuous about "spamming". I posted a picture twice and IMHO that is not spamming. It is not worth wasting further effort here, in that light. In any case, I wish the best to FReepers and want to thank you all for teaching us so much. I am especially grateful to Jim Robinson for the wonderful opportunity to have posted so many hundreds of pictures glorifying the good deeds of...

An openly gay Army sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq is fighting to stay in the Army despite the United States’ strict “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy which threatens to discharge the man. Sgt Robert Stout, 23, claims he has not encountered prejudice among his platoon and is urging officials to reverse their “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. “I know a ton of gay men that would be more than willing to stay in the Army if they could just be open,” Stout told the Los Angeles Times. “But if we have to stay here and...

Many argue that communism will never be possible because of "human nature". The essence of this false argument is the belief that a communist society would consist of an all-powerful central government that would tell everybody what to do--and would therefore undermine the creative initiative of individuals and the search for happiness. • This argument is based on two false assumptions: (1) It assumes that a communist society will look like the former Soviet Union, or the current China, North Korea, etc (ie: corrupt police states with a feudal-style ruling class) (2) It assumes that people will only work in...

Well, that time has come for me. I’m leaving FR. However, I do not consider this an “opus”, as I am NOT going to use it to rehash old slights or arguments, or to give my personal opinion of what “should be done around here”. As has been so often pointed out, this is Jim Robinson’s site, and he runs it as he sees fit. Rather, all I’m going to do here is give a general reason for my departure, and say a hearty-but-sad “GOODBYE!” to all the folks here who have enriched my life in the past four years....

This is not a vanity post, it is the plain truth. As 'flagthefly' I posted a link to a BBC article about an investigation by the most respected medical magazine in the world, which had some unpleasant things to say about the real number of dead in Iraq. My thread got pulled after 2 replies. This has changed my opinion on this site by 180 degrees for now. Why is it not possible to post a link to news about an independent scientific investigation? If this counts as 'freedom', then I'd like to be jailed forever, that would be a...

Why want he? Do you know? Is there sombody we can call? Plaese advice.

Everybody leaves the world's most exclusive club sometime, and last night the tribute at the National Building Museum was for a man who had left it most reluctantly -- Democrat Tom Daschle, tossed out of the Senate in November by the good people of South Dakota after an expensive and contentious race. "Tom wasn't wild about this, to tell you the truth," said his wife, Linda Daschle, an airline industry lobbyist, as she surveyed the room of about 400 guests, including nearly all 44 Democratic senators. "He wasn't about looking back. But so many of his Senate family wanted to...

You’ve decided to move to Canada but before you go you must choose a destination in which to settle. Canada, with over 10 million square kilometers of territory, is the second largest country in the world, with many wonderful cities, towns and rural communities beckoning the newcomer. The vastness of this country makes choosing a destination all that more difficult. Do you choose to live near the ocean, in the mountains, in a large city, on the prairies, or in the lake regions? Suddenly, choosing somewhere seems overwhelming! So how do you go about deciding which place is best for...

Kevin P. Casey for The New York Times "The U.S. seems to be leading the pack as the world spirals down," said Melanie Redman, who hopes to move to Toronto. VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 4 - Christopher Key knows exactly what he would be giving up if he left Bellingham, Wash. "It's the sort of place Norman Rockwell would paint, where everyone watches out for everyone else and we have block parties every year," said Mr. Key, a 56-year-old Vietnam War veteran and former magazine editor who lists Francis Scott Key among his ancestors. But leave it he intends...

The American people are about to get a taste of what they voted for -- the most conservative domestic policies in modern times. On that score, President George W. Bush did not fool the voters. He was quite clear that he would turn the country even further to the right in his second term. He also stressed his determination to stay the course in Iraq, although it is beginning to look more and more like Vietnam every day. No exit strategy is apparent, even as public support for the war is waning. So the president is interpreting his election victory...

In 1993, I had lunch with The Wall Street Journal's editorial-page editor, Bob Bartley, to discuss launching what he envisioned as a contrarian column. With Bob, who passed away a year ago, small talk never was easy. But he was very smart and had lots of views about column writing and what would work. It made sense, I replied, but noted there were areas where I shared the editorial page's viewpoint, free trade for example. "In all due respect," my taciturn luncheon partner replied, "if I want a column on free trade, I can do better than you."

President Bush sought Tuesday to patch up relations with Canada after years of bickering, flying here for tough hemispheric and global talks amid boisterous demonstrations from opponents of the U.S. led-war in Iraq. Bush's trip here was the first official visit by a U.S. president in nearly 10 years and his meeting with Prime Minister Paul Martin was akin to a political dance; Bush wanted to avoid any missteps that could amplify anti-Americanism north of the U.S. border. But his unpopularity in some Canadian quarters was unmistakable. Some of the several hundred protesters near the Parliament building were polite. "Please...

Up to 100 million people may die within weeks if a bird flu pandemic breaks out, a senior World Health Organisation (WHO) official warned on Monday as he urged nations to make urgent preparations to mitigate its spread. A global outbreak is almost certain and even widescale vaccination programmes will not be enough to halt its inexorable advance, the WHO director for the Western Pacific, Shigeru Omi, said in Hong Kong. "The most conservative estimate is that seven to 10 million people would die, but the maximum range will be more -- 50 million or even in the worst case...

The blogosphere, an ad hoc network of news commentary web journals created by pajama-clad scribes who write so well they don't need editors, claimed another triumph this week, forcing the retirement of Dan Rather, a 73-year-old news anchor whose show ranked a distant third in a field of three. "We have put the MSM [main stream media] on notice," wrote one unnamed blogger. "If we can do this to a septuagenarian at the sunset of his career, who can withstand our withering firepower?" The official unnamed spokesman for the blogosphere said the next target for "Operation Early Retirement" is 86-year-old...

I feel ashamed that the republican were able to cheat once again? Is this democracy? I think not! I know, without a shadow of a doubt that the election was rigged, because there aren't enough idiot in this country to vote the god danged BUSH into office, ONCE, not to mention TWICE. We should pull together, and fight the oppression. FIGHT THE POWER, and the evil republicans, before it's too late, and we are relieved of all our precious rights. Soon we will all be imprisoned, and figuratively speaking, forced to finish our pees before we are aloud to leave the dinner table. For SHAME... SHAME ON THE US of A, a potentially fantastic country.

Ramallah - Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is suffering from a potentially fatal blood disorder which will require more tests outside the West Bank to determine the cause, one of the doctors treating him said Thursday. "His blood cells which should normally destroy microbes are currently destroying blood platelets," the doctor said on condition of anonymity. The disorder could have been triggered "by an inflammation caused by a virus, a cancer or blood poisoning," he told reporters. The supplemtary tests could not be conducted in Arafat's West Bank headquarters where he is currently being treated, he added. "The doctors think that...

A man convicted of murder in part because of evidence analyzed by Houston's embattled police crime lab headed to the death chamber Tuesday, despite calls by the police chief and two legislators for executions connected to the lab to be put on hold. Edward Green III was convicted of killing two people in a 1992 robbery. His lawyers asked that the execution be delayed until authorities can review some 280 recently discovered boxes of evidence that had been mislabeled and improperly stored at the crime lab. Defense attorneys said the boxes could contain something relevant to Green's case, but prosecutors...
