Reporting from Washington— As a senior staff meeting broke up one recent morning, President Obama pulled a few aides aside in the Oval Office for a pep talk. The chatter around Washington was fixated on the president's sluggish poll numbers, which prompted speculation that Obama might shake up his White House staff. Obama's advice: Tune it out. The blame ultimately belongs on him, Obama told the staffers, and he had no plans to cast any of them aside. "He was saying we should pull together and focus on what's important," recalled one senior staff member who was present and agreed...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: (summarized) "Stop complainin'! Press on! Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes. Shake it off, stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying, we're gonna press on. If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew -- uh, janitor -- makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor. We used a big infrastructure builders in this country! The intercontinental railroad." This, ladies and gentlemen, is a task for the Official Obama Criticizer: Mr. Bo Snerdley. SNERDLEY: Good afternoon. This is Bo Snerdley, Official Obama...

Energy: As the House passes a bill to open up offshore drilling, the Senate holds another show trial of oil executives showing why people blame them, not the administration, for high gas prices. Last week they fought back. Summoned for what Sen. Orrin Hatch labeled a dog-and-pony show, executives of Exxon Mobil, Shell, ConocoPhillips, BP America and Chevron appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday and, in often-heated exchanges, indicated their days as whipping boys are over. The hearing was called ostensibly to support the Democrats' Close Big Oil Tax Loopholes Act, a bill with no chance of passage....

Brian Maloney at Radio Equalizer was stunned to hear trial lawyer and radio host Mike Papantonio (formerly of Air America) say on the Ed Schultz radio show that Barack Obama is "carrying our spear" for the progressives. Maloney wrote: "JUST IMAGINE the reaction to a conservative host using ‘Obama’ and ‘spear’ in the same sentence! It would dominate the news cycle for days. But don't expect Sharpton & Friends to protest this one." Maloney’s blog has this audio from April 13: PAPANTONIO: I think he's a terrible negotiator. Think about his background. He comes from a professorship teaching constitutional law at...

The athletic young man who arrived in Dr. Deepak Chopra's classroom last month for a course in leadership was impeccably dressed in a hunting jacket, polite and unassuming...."He did not say, 'I'm from Libya.' He said, 'I'm from North Africa,' or words to that effect." But Chopra knew who he was and where he was from. "We had been informed by the State Department that he was going to be there... His name was Khamis, the 27-year-old scion of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi who was in the third week of an "internship" that took him across the country to hone...

US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner shocked global markets by revealing that Washington is “quite open” to Chinese proposals for the gradual development of a global reserve currency run by the International Monetary Fund. The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geo-finance. “The mere fact that the US Treasury Secretary is even entertaining thoughts that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has caused consternation,” he said. Mr Geithner later...

Given his experience as the "Dog Whisperer," Cesar Milan certainly knows how to keep four-legged friends in line. His major rule of dog training: Do not let the dog lead you. "Americans who allow their dogs to walk them is one of his biggest peeves," CBS's Lesley Stahl said during her "Sunday Morning" profile of Milan. "If your dog doesn't learn how to follow, you'll never have a disciplined pet."

Obama has finally done it. He's made himself the straw man. First he names his dog Bo, a narcissistic takeoff of his initials. Surprised he didn't name him BHO with a silent H. Secondly, does Barack have a dog fetish? After all, he called blacks a "mongrel people", which should be very offensive to blacks since he isn't actually fully black. From Mediaite: Pres. Obama On DC Opponents: “They Talk About Me Like A Dog” President Barack Obama came out swinging in Wisconsin today in a speech that, while making clear references to policy and future plans, didn’t shy away...

Dear xxxxxx, Every year, our family tries to come up with a fun way to wish Barack a happy birthday. And this August 4th, when he turns 49, I have something new in mind. This has been a big -- and hectic -- year for him. After signing the Affordable Care Act and Wall Street reform into law -- and completing his first year as president -- I think it's safe to say we will remember it for a long time. And I know full well how much he credits this movement, and the work of supporters like you, for...

First dog Bo, leading President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama to a picnic for members of Congress on the South Lawn of the White House, didn't walk politely beside the president on a loose leash. Bo was was probably anxious to get to the Alaskan Salmon smoked on an open pit that was served for dinner.

Putting aside religious beliefs, nothing in life has 100% upside--nothing. But the closest thing to a guaranteed better, safer and more fulfilling life is freedom. Freedom means responsibility. It also means failure, accidents and mistakes. This, in turn, leads to learning, which is why successes outweigh the failures. However, humans must be free to understand the consequences of their actions. Without consequences, there is little learning. When freedom prevails, the ingenuity and inventiveness of people creates incredible wealth. This is the source of the natural improvement of the human condition. Capitalism is created by free people. Socialism, on the other...

President and First Lady are partying like rock royalty. The same hypocrite who says our energy costs must “necessarily skyrocket” to fund his political ambition, is giving Marie Antoinette a run for her money when it comes to spending national treasure on personal luxuries. While much of the country is struggling to pay their bills, the President and First Lady are partying like rock royalty. The collection of talent that has made the pilgrimage to the White House to entertain Obama and friends is nothing less than amazing: Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennet, Paul Simon, Marc Anthony, Herbie Hancock,...

Two workers injured when an oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico told Congress on Thursday that the companies in charge of the doomed drilling operation cut corners and neglected maintenance in a race toward higher profits. Oil has been spewing since the Deepwater Horizon blew up off the coast of Louisiana April 20, killing 11 workers. More than 100 others escaped. "They gambled with our lives," laborer Stephen Stone told the House Judiciary Committee. He said the accident was "set in motion years ago by these companies needlessly rushing to make money faster, while cutting corners to save...

The big oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico is now serving to prove to the DUmmies something most of us knew long ago...That Barack Obama is nothing but a complete BS artist. Yeah, he talks up a good storm but what does he actually DO? Mostly nothing which is why the DUmmies are now so frustrated with his lack of action as you can see in the THREAD, "White House in Denial; Public Wants Real Action on BP Oil Disaster." I've known a few people like Obama. Real big on talk but when it comes time to take...

Barack Obama made millions in book royalties last year and took delivery of a special $1,600 gift - the family dog Bo, financial records show. Royalties from "Dreams From My Father" and "Audacity of Hope" earned him at least $1m each, according to filings released by the White House. Bo, a Portuguese water dog given to the Obamas by the late Senator Edward Kennedy and his wife was valued at $1,600 in Mr Obama's financial disclosure form. The value of Mr Obama's Nobel peace prize medal and diploma were "not readily ascertainable", the document said.
